I was gonna post this in the 'CoN OOC' thread as my excuse for skipping out on this latest round as a Storyteller, but I though it would be more appropriate to post it here instead. I spent the entire last week playing card and board games with great friends, including forum members jester4389, IntoAshes, Mystic Blue, Blue Angel, Serax, and cherylbarrell. Had Mystic and BA not come up to visit, I was gonna try to make the Dallas HS Team Tourney on the 10th, but I had tons of fun here at home instead. ^_^ Just in case anyone's interested, we played: Aquarius (x3 or 4) - winner(s) unknown (I was doing something else)
Brawl (x12 or more) - 5-way free-for-all and 2-vs-2 tag-team games (numerous winners)
Carcassonne - won by "she who must not be named"
Chinchirorin (x3) - I don't remember who won, ...probably not me...
Conquest of the Fallen Lands - won by Blue Angel (I almost beat him... ^_~ )
Fluxx (x3 or 4) - won by IntoAshes and cherlybarrell
HeroScape (of course) - won by team Marro/Grut (IntoAshes/jester4389 and myself)
Killer Bunnies - miracle win by Mystic Blue
Mah-Jongg - won by me (barely)
Merchant of Venus (7 players!) - won easily by Blue Angel
Munchkin - won by IntoAshes (and me, on a fluke)
Queen's Necklace - imsirema let me win ^_~
Shadows Over Camelot (7 players!) - everybody won (waaaaay too easily)
Twilight Imperium (2nd. ed.) - won by IntoAshes
xXxenophile - won by me (at time limit)We didn't get to play Cosmic Encounter, Samurai Swords, or Vanished Planet like we had hoped, but we can save those for next time. ^_^ Highlights for me were the Brawl games (quick-fire slap-happy fun), Carcassonne (eventhough I could never seem to draw the tiles I needed), Killer Bunnies (what's not to like about a Gleeful Super Bunny with a Cylon Staple-Gun?), Mah-Jongg (good to play again - I'm really out of practice), Merchant of Venus (I have NO CLUE how BA built to $1500 before I even had $800, and I was in 2nd place - that boy is a trading animal...), Munchkin (my first game ever, and a co-win for me because BA somehow convinced IntoAshes that 16 minus 5 was 12... ^_~ ), TI (I could have stopped IntoAshes from winning, but I had to kick jester4389 in the teeth instead and conquer his homeworld, since he did the same to me 2 turns earlier [I'll happily sacrifice victory for payback any day]... ^_^ ), and of course, HeroScape.

We only played one HeroScape game, but it was a huge 2-vs-2 team match over every kind of terrain (BA and Mystic only have Master Set terrain). 3MS, 3RttFF, 2VW, 2TT, and a 2FotAK keep at centerfield. Mystic and BA teamed against me and IntoAshes (later replaced by jester4389). The 'blues' took Drake and Rae, the AE, EOVs, some Aubriens, Syv, Dan, and Eldgrim. IntoAshes took NGS, Zombies, Marro Warriors, and MBS to backup my Grut Blades (x2), Archers (x2), Swog Riders (x2), Heavies, and Nerak. It was a blast, but I'll spare you the full AAR. The 'blue' team lost to some fluke d20 rolls; IntoAshes pulled off a Shackle against the last EOV, then traded off her command to jester, who then Shackled the AE on the very next turn. Rough luck for the out-of-towners, but a good time was still had by all (I think)...

Thanks to Mystic and BA for driving up to game with me, and to Fuzzie Fuzz, TyG17, and johnny139 for hosting CoN caves so I could play hookey from HSers and cram in all that gaming instead!!!

Best Spring Break I've had in ages!!! YEAH!!!!

^_^
