Created a map for the NORCAL tourney coming up that uses 1ms, 1 RTFF, 1 TT. I am having trouble getting the glyphs and starting zones to show up anywhere but on the overlay screen. I have saved it and reopened it and all the stuff is there. When I try and view it in 3d or on solidscape all the start zones and glyphs are gone. It is especially important as I used black starting dots to indicate the glacier placement.
1)Anyone have a fix for this?
2)Also how do you save the 3-d view as a pdf????

LS does not shows overlays in it's 3D view. It will "print" an addictional picture at the end of the building layers. (maybe an option? i don't have it on this PC right now).
SS shows overlays, while some of them are not enabled by default. There's a menu option, then you can activate what kind of "overlays" you want to see.
(This is done only by the last SS version, which seems to have some problems on certains PC. I think that in PC with the latest DirectX SS should run fine.)
SS saves the view in BMP format. You need some additional program to put it in a PDF.

LS is only displaying maps built locally. Maps copied from another computer are not displayed in my LS Saved Battlefields dialog box. Is there a trick to get LS to recognize transferred .sol files once they are in my local host directory?
I'm hoping I don't have to edit the LS_savedMaps.sol file.

Satyr,
The only way I know to move maps from one computer to another is to us LandScape Mover 1.0. I got that off of Logery's site. Basically you copy the XML text to a text program and then copy it into the mover program and then reverse to the next computer. If you need more help pm me.

You can create a map and save it with the exactly same name as the one you want to "load" (the already saved .sol file).
The overwrite this "empty" map with the .sol file you have. It works.

I want to thank you Parduz for this information. Somehow I disconnected my sol files from landscape and could no longer access them. This allowed me to get them back on the landscape menu.
I also wish to compliment your SolidScape program. I just started using it and am throughly enjoying it.

here's one:
I didn't download LandSCAPE (idk why, i just didnt) but i built a map in the web browser version. think you guys would like this map (idk why, just a feeling) but do not know how (or even if i can) to save it to the desktop, etc.
When building in a web browser, do your saved maps still put those nifty files somewhere on the computer, or is it strictly on the internet?

The downloaded and browser versions both save their files in almost the same area. Look in C:/Documents and Settings/<username>/Application Data/Macromedia/Flash/#Shared Data/<garble>/ (the 'garble' will be a hash string unique to your install of Flash); in this directory you will find subdirectories; one of them will be "logrey.home.mchsi.com" -- this is where the web-based maps are put. The downloadable version puts its maps in the directory 'localhost'.
The LandSCAPE mover tool LS_Mover only looks in the 'localhost' directory, unfortunately, so if you don't have the downloadable version installed, you can just copy the 'logrey.home.mchsi.com' directory and rename it 'localhost', then you can use LS_Mover to extract the map's data to send it elsewhere. If you do have the downloadable version installed, start it, create a map with the same name and immediately save it, then copy the map from the logrey directory to the localhost directory, after which you can use LS_Mover to extract the map's data.
