Can the judges not participate?
Just have 3 judges, if 1 of them is in a game that has a dispute then one of the other 2 makes the decision. If 2 judges are playing each other the third makes the call.
That's what we used to do in our homebrew M:tG tournaments...it worked great.

Give judges the right (or even "rite") of capital punishment...it cuts WAY DOWN on disputes.

Yes, :D That was the Plan. All judges will play as well as be a third party to any conflict in rules.
It basically comes down to the judge that is closest or not busy at that moment a player needs help.

CA, that almost sounds good enough to fly back for, but such is not to be.
I remember you talking about the helmet some where else, gret idea.
The necklaces really interest me, what would you be making them out of??? Being a glass blower, and also a lamp worker that gives me some great ideas! I think I could work that into glass somehow,
If Bubba ends up making it, I will have him bring a prize or two from me, it may only be glass that has nothing to do with HS, but I figure any prize is better then none.

Just peekin' in here. ;)
how many maps are you planning on making?
Who's sets will be used?
Will you allow for anyone who doesn;t have their own figures?
Why do you need judges? HS players pretty much judge themselves - a lot of it's common sense, and there's less need for rulings during play than one would surmise from the rules threads here.
Since those maps aren't symmetrical, you may want to institute the rule that whoever wins the D20 roll CHOOSES whether they want to choose the side they start from, or who they want to go first.

Who's sets? My Sets and maybe a couple of folks who would like to volunteer.
Will you allow those without their own figures? Yes but only the first 3 folks that come ill prepaired. They will be allowed to choose from 3 pre-built armies at the tourney.
Why do you need judges? Yes I know most folks who know how to play Heroscape don't need a judge. I don't expect us as judges to have to walk around constantly answering questions. Having the judges is mearly a safety net, if someone can say "I am a Judge" most people won't argue a ruling, and a judge is there to help avoid any disputes that may arise.
Since those maps aren't symmetrical, you may want to institute the rule that whoever wins the D20 roll CHOOSES whether they want to choose the side they start from, or who they want to go first.
That actually isn't a bad idea and I hadn't thought about that part yet, Thank You, :)

I don't have it down yet but I'm working on my last 2 places. I was trying to avoid doing it through the Jeffersonville because they won't let me bring in food and there aren't any fast food places close by. That sucks you couldnīt get enough people for the first date. I fly to tampa on theth of >Sept. and then Ohio I think the 12th or so, so I am sorry to say I will also miss out ont hat date, no worries though. I think I will end up in Columbus at some time, so I will try and contact you if I do. I actually went about 2 months with out a game, talk about withdrawl. But I got my fix, and tought My 12 year old niece to play, so she is now hooked. Then an old bro showed up and I got in 3 serious days of HS, the wife was out of town so it worked out perfect. Maybe I can send something as a prize though. OK take her easy and I hope you get a lot of people for the tourney.

Finally, an explanation. I am glad things worked out so that I didn't actually miss the original SWOGG plans, but now I can inform everyone about the "massive change of plans" that I had back then.
Back in June I realized that I was going to be in Oklahoma City sometime this month, and if I timed things right I could also make it to one of UPC's Texas game days (cuz Okla City is only a 3 hr drive away from Dallas.) The only way this could work out though was if a I missed the SWOGG that we had scheduled on July 15. The way I saw things was that I only had this one opportunity to game in Texas, and I think anyone on this site would take that opportunity if they could! I have many more chances to catch a SWOGG, and I'm looking forward to meeting more 'scapers.
You can see my photo in the group shot in the Two Weekends of Gaming thread. ;)

When is the Swogg???? What is the date of the get together???
I totally dropped the ball on getting new dice made, but I am mailing some to my indian friends and still going to try and get some made, I don't think in time for prizes, but time will tell.
Have a great tourney...

The 9th of Sept., I answered my own question, just had to read through the thread again to find it.
Man that is a bummer, I arrive in Ohio on the 15th of Sept., oh well such is life. I will let my bro Bubba know the new date and see if he can make it.
Seems like A low list of people, I will try and find endpawn and see if he is interested, I know I am , if I didn't already have tickets I would try and change my plans.
I don't think I will get the dice made in time to send to you, not easy being such a slacker, OK take care
