No worries guys, the top 2 excluding myself move on automatically to the finals, because I'd really like to see Dark Templar and Omicron Warlord make it to the Finals. Don't forget that even if I do win anything the prize will move down to the next person, so let's say I get 1st place, second place would then get a castle set. :D

LOL! I voted for my Hydralisk....Damn! I should have voted for templar....oh well didnt check results before voting..

If everyone knew how hard it was to cut through mimring to make that mod, I think it would get more votes. ;-) I went through two exacto blades. Also, these are my first attempts at scuplt/mod.

The back headplate of that Hydralisk is cut from the wing; so I know what you are talking about.

Dude, I know exactly what your talking about, but cutting through the wings is worse.

To trim some wings, I used a dremmel cutting wheel. I got most of the way through until I coulldn't hold the tool at the right angle with hitting other parts of the wing. Then finished with the blade.

After cutting through some of the smaller figs, I know I don't want to ever have to cut through Mimring's body.

I normally use a serrated kitchen knife to cut through tough minatures, starting the groves with a pair of finger/toenail clippers helps as well. You have to sand a little bit when you're done with the knife though, that's the only real downside.

In all honesty, I've never used an exacto when reculpting minis.

Thanks Minigeek, and yeah I should have brought Ember, oh well, hindsight is 20/20. This contest is a bit discouraging though :? Oh welll life goes on and by the way Cupid, I also voted for yours.

I like the idea of more water born/inspired characters, for that reason I had to go with CA's Beh'moth.

wish I had an iota of any of ya's talent and creativity.

so, yeah, CupidArt's mod is beautiful, but since he's running it, I opted to vote for my next choice. Dark Templar. I like hydralisks better than templars, but the templar seems more on than the hydralisk.

Thanks endpawn; I was orginally going to call him Zeratul but after refreshing myself with Tassadar, (Only protoss to harness high templar and dark templar energies) I think I will call him Tassadar.

Your simple statement has given me clarity to what I want to do with him. Card soon to follow.

Zeratul is sweetness too. I love the protoss.

Did you use two bows on his hair? Im having trouble duplicating it.

Yes his hair is two pieces...one is Fin's bird...the other is half of Syv's bow....

I sort of shredded them a bit with an exacto to make it look like hair...the bow overlaps
the edge of the bird just slightly

I am thinking about making another one….for a give away sometime….

I will document steps if I do.

Cool Ill work on finishing them up later. I dug up some much better hydra arms from a star wars fig too. Should be pretty sweet.
