My Army:
- Q9
- Kaemon Awa
- Mimring
- Agent Carr
- Krav Maga
- Arrow Gruts (x1)
- Airborne Elite
Opponent's Army:
- Jotun
- Raelin
- Swog Rider
- Grimnak
- Ornak
- Tornak
- Arrow Gruts
- Heavy Orcs
- Blade Gruts
I lost initiative, but was able to drop my Airborne Elite in the first round. I took a chance here, and had placed my first order marker on them. I dropped them at the 4 highest points on the battlefield, and two of the AE were able to use their grenade attack right off the bat. I got lucky on the dice rolls, and took out all of his Arrow Gruts, the Swog Rider, and two Heavy Gruts. I lost these two AE in the next round to an attack and Grimnak's Chomp...but it was well worth it. They took down 1/3 of his army.
Next, I placed order markers on my Arrow Gruts, and used Beast Bonding to move Mimring around. Mimring was crushed by Jotun, but not before using his Fire Line attack a couple times, wiping out Tornak and the rest of the Gruts, except 1 or 2. My Arrow Gruts took pot shots from height advantage at Grimnak, causing a couple wounds. They also turned over the +2 defense glyph.
With his army in dire shape, Jotun became his main focus. I switched to using the AE and moved Q9 in. The Queglix attack wasn't working too well, so I switched to the normal attack from height advantage, and finished off Jotun. Q9 then moved in to deliver the final blows. He took down Grimnak and the last Heavy Grut, as they were only able to cause 1 wound on him with 10 defense (7 normal, +2 glyph, height advantage). I then moved Q9 and destroyed Raelin and Ornak with the Queglix special.
Kaemon Awa, Carr, and the Krav never left the starting area.

This was my first time playing with both Mimring and the AE. After the strong showing by those units at the recent Columbus, OH tournament...I had to try them myself, and was not disappointed. I like Orc armies, and Mimring fits nicely with Beast Bonding. He may earn himself a spot on my favorite team, but it would be hard to replace Krug.
The AE are pretty cool too. Being able to drop right next to my opponent's starting area and lob grenades really set the tone for this matchup. I can't imagine sitting there and seeing so many units get wiped out in one round like that.
