This new naval combat set is coming out in a couple weeks and looks very nice. With HS, D&D minis, and SW minis I don't really need a new game, but this looks very cool.

No game gets me as riled up as A&A. Seriously, I shouldn't play this game if I wanna' live past 50. I get way to intense about it.

A&A has a great system for turn-by-turn production points and strengthening armies during the game. It's great.

Thanks for the links to the miniatures game. I think I'm gonna' get it when it comes out.

I miss the old 2nd, 3rd, 6th Fleet series. That was awesome modern naval combat. I threw it away with a bunch of other stuff years ago when I gave up on ever finding a gaming group. Now I'm thinking about this new Battlestations for PC thing that's out. Don't need another player for that. Not the same, of course, but what are you going to do?

Wow those are nice ships. Ugh...another money sink for me. Thanks for the links, Kepler.

Thanks for the link. Those pics made me consider purchasing some more boosters. :)

I have been buying the A&A Minis for awhile now. I almost have complete sets of all of the army releases (sets 1 - 5).

The game is a bit light for my liking but the minis are great, I hope to modify the rules to add some depth.

Is this game compatible with other Axis and Allies minis?

Can I use planes from earlier sets to attack these new ships, or is it a new game in the way Star Wars Starship Battles is different from teh regular minis game?

Didn't they just post some advanced rules on the AAM website?

I don't think so. I believe the fighters for WaS come based as groups of three fighters. I have no idea if the stats are compatible.

The minis look cool, but I definitely cannot get into another game, especially blind purchase, right now. I think I'm right at the wife's "red line."

After picking up a starter and reading the rules, I'm very impressed. The rules are simple (similar to the AAM game) and looks like it plays fast. The scale of the ships looks fairly accurate (at 1/1800) and the planes are in scale with each other too (at 1/900). I also like how they staggered the squares on the map grid to give it more of a hex-based feel (that mapping technique has been used in several older wargames). Some of the guys playing DDM/Dreamblade have shown some interest so we might get in a few games in the near future.
