I just learned today that wave 3 will be available for purchase at Amazon.de and Amazon.co.uk from 26 March 2007! This is great news, at last some official information about wave three. They are ready to be pre-ordered. You can check that at Amazon.de (use a translator, it's in German  )

This confirms the information I got from an italian online shop; they told me in an email that they expected Wave 3 for the first week of march. However, the shipment was delayed with no confirmed new date.

I guess this affects to you all in the states. Doggies and Apes are coming at last!!!

This is great news, and confirms what I suspected, that JO would be back this spring.

Thanks for the "heads up!"

Yay! My kilts and commandos are getting lonely over here with no buddies from their wave to keep them company...

obi_JUAN
February 28th, 2007, 05:26 PM
Precisely, Kilts and commandos have never gone sold-out around here... I managed to find some gorillanators once, but had no cash then :?

I have found another source with the same information. It's Fantasy Kontor (google it), another online store. They also state that the shipment date is in march. Again, use the translator because it's in german.

I'll keep on researching...promise.

If you edit the first message in the thread and change its subject, it will change the thread's title.

I wouldn't be surprised if the Uk got marvelscape before anything else so that hasbro might be able to get more people into heroscape!

How much is that in real money? ( :D ) just curious. Our Marvel MS our around $39.99

RichardD

$66.

In the UK, the ROTV Master Set typically sells for £39.99. Which is $77. I don'tknow what price the Marvel set will be sold at (or even IF it will be sold at all).

It's not about exchange rates. It's about p-sychology. A product that cost £3.00 in London in 2003 costs about £3.30 today, based on inflation. On the other hand, if you're looking at it based on exchange rates, that same product went from $4.71 to $6.43. [1]

The buying power of a pound in the UK is nearly identical to the buying power of a dollar in the US: thus, that Master Set selling in Cambridge for £39.99 "feels" like the same price to a UK buyer that a nearly identical Master Set selling in Princeton for $39.99 does to a US buyer. [2]

It only matters if you're dealing in some kind of "gray market" international trade in HeroScape. :)

—SD

[1] From the perspective of inflation, the price went up 10%. From the perspective of exchange rates, it went up 36%.

[2] This is true for many things: the $0.99 menu at a McDonald's in New York is virtually identical to the £0.99 menu at a McDonald's in London, for example. It's about what people feel like they can pay.

Siran Dunmorgan, I absolutely AGREE

I strongly suspect it's more about what people feel like they can charge. In the minds of the retail industry, £1 = $1. When the exchange rate was £1=$1.40, a product that was on sale in the states for $399 would be priced at £399 in the UK. When the exchange rate was almost £1=$2, that same $399 item would STILL be priced at £399.

There are many, many examples of such pricing practices. The UK pbuyer of boardgames gets particularly badly shafted (one pupolar game of the last couple of years cost €8 in Germany, $19 in the States, and £19 here. That's almost 4 times the cost of the game in Germany. Little wonder people were carrying armloads of that game back to the UK from Essen last year).

Disappointing, but not a complete surprise.

We still have no idea what the cause of the HS delays are - is it due to a downturn in sales & orders, a current glut of product, some sort of production problem, a fire in a factory, or product development holdups?

And although wave 3 is confirmed for Europe in August know (indicating that a US stock replenishment of wave 3 is also on its way, but not before July), I have no idea if the UK will get wave 3 (we had very limited amounts of wave 1, but no wave 2 AFAIK).

I want wave 2 to be out over in the UK before wave 3 is!
