I thought about that but desert? We already have sand
Jungle? We will have swamp and grass, some jungle trees would be nice
mountain peaks? again that sounds more along the lines of trees and such instead of actual terrain

Lurk, it's about time we had mountain peaks. Several map builds from the .net days said, "and then add 4 singles stacked on top here." We wanted to create peaks, but stacking singles up high doesn't have the same appearance as the "brown glaciers" you suggest.

Pre-built hills/mountains that just connect in to your map - no more stacking 10 - 24 hex on top of eachother. How about pillars or columns so you don't have to stack single hexes on top of eachother? How about LOS blockers like statues etc..
There are still ideas out there.
I don't see anything on that link...can somebody please post whatever it says for wave 8 and 9 with pics?

I really can't see us getting sotM, Large Set of figures and Large terrain all in one month?! But it would be nice though :D

What would be really cool is if the mammoth had some kind of trample special ability, where its sort of like Mimrings LOF, but at the end of the range had to be an empty space where the mammoth would stop and rest from his trample.

I would love to see some desert and egyptian creatures. I know I am the minority with that. I would still like to see it.
If they do go with jungles, then I EXPECT more gorrilanators. Perhaps a heavy gun unit, and a melee unit of them.

I would like some more ruins maybe. I was thinking that the large terrain set maybe more swamp - just incase you don't feel like buying more than one set of SotM then you can buy just terrain on its own. If there a squad of 3 figures with it then they might have Swamp monsters; like Obsidians with lava and Dzu-teh with snow?!

Another thing I think would be cool would be some American Civil War troops for Jandar. They would be like the Zombies, where it would be 2 squads of 3 in one pack. But one squad would be Union soldiers, and the other squad Confederate. The backstory would be something where they were saved during a battle, and once they got to Valhalla and saw the 4th Mass and Sgt. Drake they would put their differences aside, seeing how the future panned out.
They would be a ranged unit, but maybe have a "Bayonette Strike" to add extra attack dice against an adjacent figure (like Agent Carr).

I just remembered, I think it was on the SotM description or something, where they were talking about the jungle/swamp and "strange rock formations". That very well may have been a forecast of our next terrain pack.

Sounds like a possibility! Then maybe a squad of 3 stone creatures - like the Custom figures: The granite guards (i think that is what they were called).

After finding a pic of the box I saw that it actually reads "treacherous rock" instead of "strange rock formations" but still I'd be cool with it. Even if it was just a TT pack with the glaciers cast in gray plastic and rock and sand instead of snow, I'd still get at least one.

I've thought about how to do that too... but instead of a bayonette charge, which seldom worked except as a counterattack, you could do a flanking maneuver. if the second squad attacks the same target as the first squad from a non-adjacent hex, add attack dice. Most of the civil war battles had at least one really good flanking maneuver in them...

My predictions, worthless and pointless though they may be:
The next couple of booster waves will come packaged with swamp hexes.
If there is a Desert terrain expansion the "sand" will be all-brown. Waves 9 or 10 will come packaged with desert hexes.
A Graveyard is a perfect terrain expansion, and will be available close to Halloween.
And Wave 10 will include Sluts of Lalaland, with a unique squad of "entertainers" including AmyNicole Smythe, Critney Smears and Scar-a-Lot Johansenshmen. Unlike the Nikitas the young boys WILL want to buy this pack for reasons it's best not to go into now. Their attack power will be vicious, but their defense dice will be reduced to 0 on snow tiles.

I think they should have more terrain that can boost certain figures attack/defense - like the Road Tiles and Dumutef Guard.

You're not the first to ask this, and frankly it surprises me.
This game is only limited by your imagination...there's a big world out there and a big universe beyond that. The sky's the limit.
Anyway, good find on this. I predict the terrain pack won't be 6.5 or we'd have more info. A 6.5 release would have to come out before Wave 7 in April. So basically it would have to come out next month. Yeah....right. I'm thinking this will be a Wave 7.5 or 8.5 or even 9.5...perhaps Hasbro is just doing one large box wave per year rather than considering them point-five waves.

It's not really much worse than previous years.
2004 gave us the Master Set....getting one of everything released that year cost about $40.
2005 gave us three regular expansions (1-3), one large box expansion (2.5), lava, the EOV Master Set and Nerak. Getting one of everything released that year cost around $175 (not counting Nerak or the EOV set). If you got the EOV set your costs for 2005 went up to about $215.
2006 gave us three regular expansions (4-6), one large box expansion (4.5), flagbearers, castle, and Sir Hawthorne. Getting one of everything released that year cost around $245 (not counting Sir Hawthorne). Most of that cost increase was due to the ridiculous high price of the flagbearers, and according to Sandra there are no exclusives this year. Without flagbearers (at about 12 bucks each) 2006 would have come in around $185 dollars.
2007 will give us three regular expansions (7-9), one large box expansion (X.5), Marvelscape, Swarm of the Marro, and likely a 2007 Gencon Exlcusive. Getting one of everything released this year will likely cost about $225 (not counting the GC exclusive).
All of my posts above assume you are going for the best price on everything...$40 Masters, $10 boosters, $20 large boosters, etc. I didn't price GC exclusives because they can change so much and are technically free at first.

Is it really that bad considering the exchange rate is just over 2 to 1 in your favor? I know getting things sent from the UK here are ridiculous because of that...made that mistake one time on ebay without paying attention to the fact that it was in pounds instead of U.S. dollars...quite the unexpected payment.

:-)
Well I figured buying multiples varies a lot depending on the types of armies you want to build, but almost all of us want at least one of everything. Also, four out of six waves have had three common packs and both large box waves have had one common set, so even if we assume most multiple common purchasers buy the same number of each common (a faulty assumption) it would go up kind of evenly for each wave.

gonna recheck...but did I see that somebody found pics of a box from an upcoming wave? Not including Marvelscape or SotM.
Really? Please be Wave 7!!!
Gotta go back to work, need more money for plastic figures and terrain!
I am thinking about doing a few days of overtime each week so i have a bit extra to pay for this. Although i'm thinking this year will be a cheaper year for me seeing as i bought waves 1-6, 2 x castles, one of each large figure and large terrain sets, every exclusive (ebay prices :? ) and the flagbearers last year!!!! Plus paid shipping prices to UK!

I think sometimes it's easier not knowing everything that is being released over the next 10 months or so. That way you don't have to be very impatient!

This is getting ridiculous. I still don't have wave 6. I'm going to have to improve my trade offer - a deluxe and a compact for all of wave 6. Maybe that will get me some heavy gruts.
Are you serious? You mean dice towers right?

Well i had a look on funagain.com and they have wave 7 as a june release date still, so i wouldn't count to much on their estimated release dates. Anyway i wouldn't be surprised if most of those will be put back.
I'd expect larg terrain and figure sets in july/august, wave 8 in september, wave9 in october/november!

I need to make about $40 more dollars and my wallet will have all but a few lucky dollars and a few coins.

I have a feeling Wave 13 is just going to be "so-so".
But Wave 14 and 14.5 will make up for it. I mean have you SEEN the sculpt on that Marro/Orc Hybrid Triceratops in the large hero pack? Wow. It just screams to be used with the Marro Gruts from Wave 12.
And who would have thought back when General Meklar entered the fray back in 2008 that he'd get so much cool stuff so fast? I know I wasn't expecting his latest addition, that's for sure!

I mean, the desert theme was kind of cool, and I like the Sons of Anubis (to date Hasbro's only 2-figure squad since the Zettians), but that embarrassing attempt to retroactively include him in the fifteenth installment of Thormun's Journal - I mean, COME ON!

Call me a traditionalist, but I still love version 3, way back when he gained Mind-Shackle during his infiltration of the Marro Mega-Hive. What a great figure....the Omicron Mecha-suit he's wearing in the sculpt just sweetens the deal. Version 2 of Taelord also rocked my socks....I'm sure we all remember the first time we used that "Costtoomuchablast" draft-point draining special of his, right?
Some argue with adding the sixth and seventh Valkyries, but I love them. I can't wait for Thormun's long-awaited ascedency to general status in wave 18. Craig throwing out the hints of "action-packed but scholarly" units to come just got me all a-tingle. And the revelation that he's secretly Utgar's dad? Wow....the comics sure have gotten better since Alan Moore started writing them back in late 2007. And those Alex Ross covers and Jim Lee interiors....fantastic. No wonder this game has become the number one selling toyline in the world.
On a serious note, has anyone submitted the Wave 8 info with name to BGG? I can't find it there even after I submitted it.

A classic example of folks misunderstanding that podcast. The arquebus-wielding penguins of Wave Seven had guns that shot small vydar machine-bots, if you recall. Clearly they were penguins with guns that shoot machines, or "machine guns" if you will. I thought this had been cleared up by now. Jeez.

Remember when Wave 17 included a unique squad of 4 "Disparate Homemakers" whose special power was cheating on the Airborne Elite, giving them an extra attack die (boosted by furious anger)?
I hear there will be "Bostonian Lawyers" in the next wave, a far-too-common squad that have the power to argue that guns shouldn't be allowed on the battlefied, effectively reducing everyones range to 1.

Can anyone help me out on a question about trying to combine the different licensed Master Sets? I know they've been officially discouraging this ever since Marvelscape, but I see some real potential in combining "Deal or No Dealscape" with "Academy Awards Presentationscape." I mean, they both feature that rule where you can put an unlimited number of "X" turn markers on a card, so they ought to be compatible.
Anyway, I'm trying to figure out whether Howie Mandel's "After This Break" Special Power can be combined with the Awards Show Producer's "Cue Louder Orchestra Music" Special to indefinitely prevent your opponent from ever taking a turn.
Any advice would be appreciated.

True. I remember when folks used to poo-poo the suitcase nuke ability and other WMDs as being too powerful, but then Chloe and her squad of CTU technicans came along in "24-scape" Wave 2 and made it all too easy to disarm WMDs.

Pfft. Grungebob just left because every promotional figure based on him subtly implied he was a jerk, and I don't really blame him. First it was the "stab in the back" knight then the "doesn't hold the elevator" robot, the "sleeps with your wife" demon, and the "curses at children" troll. Personally I thought the "wets the bed and blames it on the dog" kyrie was a step too far.
I like the new Games Workshop owners. It does suck having to track down GW stores to buy some of the products, but hey, at least folks in England aren't complaining anymore about availability.

All officially licensed Master Sets are compatible...look for the little hologram of Craig and Rob waving wads of cash on the box. Be wary of the bootleg Mexican Wrestlers edition, or the version that Truth made when he briefly went rogue and left the site to create toy forgeries and sell them for a profit. I'm sure I don't need to tell you how that turned out. You can identify the "Truth Edition" set by the slight plaid tinge on the back corner of the box.
Your combo is really wicked....that would prevent an opponent from getting a turn for quite a while. Sadly you'd have virtually nothing to attack him with, as Howie rolls -1 attack dice due to the "rubber glove on the head" negative ability.

The "wets the bed and blames it on the dog" kyrie was actually Spirit of the Nether Regions, not Grungythorne the arch-kyrie. Remember how much Nether was anticipating the figure after Craig's son and co-designer leaked the figure's name? I wish I could have seen his face when he first saw that ability though. Grungythorne had the "kick the dog and burn the kittens" ability. Maybe that's what you're getting confused with...

Yup, you're right. I've been a little fuzzy ever since those spring-loaded catapults and cannons came out and one shot a needle-like projectile through the corner of my eye socket and into my brain. I won't rehash that whole story as many of you filed similar claims (that was when Ninthdoc lost his eye for real, after all), but suffice to say I got a hefty cash settlement and I'm also in scape product for life to make up for the occassional brain fart. What was WOTC thinking with those things? That's why they had to sell to Games Workshop, as we all know. The lawsuits just piled up.

I'm just glad GW was able to outbid the consortium put together by Gary Gygax, Nichelle Nichols, Stephen Hawking and Al Gore. Gore's just been itching to get his hands on Heroscape ever since he lost that poll on the main site, "Which former Vice President and Academy Award winner should have his own figure in the upcoming 'Academy Awards Presentationscape Master Set?'"

What would be really cool is if the mammoth had some kind of trample special ability, where its sort of like Mimrings LOF, but at the end of the range had to be an empty space where the mammoth would stop and rest from his trample.
Or maybe a throw ability like Jotun but with the trunk.

BUt wait until wave 20 invasion of the care bears. They are amazing!!! They weild chainsaws and can bludgeon you with th body parts off their victims. They are gruesome. And their general, cuddles the care bear, he is so cool.
Man they were just a rip-off from the gummi bears in wave 19.

I love that Heroscapers.com has become an important enough political demographic that Barack Obama legally changed his name to Agent Carr before hopping on that VP ticket, just to appeal to us.

This is so awesome. Wave eight is gonna be awesome. what isn't awesome about heroscape expansions?
I have a feeling Wave 13 is just going to be "so-so".
But Wave 14 and 14.5 will make up for it. I mean have you SEEN the sculpt on that Marro/Orc Hybrid Triceratops in the large hero pack? Wow. It just screams to be used with the Marro Gruts from Wave 12.
And who would have thought back when General Meklar entered the fray back in 2008 that he'd get so much cool stuff so fast? I know I wasn't expecting his latest addition, that's for sure!
:-P
Yeah, just wait until you see wave 16. There are flying elves/marro hybrids a=that can shoot lazers out of there eyes.
Pfft. LAME! That power is so a re-hash of the "Collection 11: Pirates a'Plenty" Sharks with Frickin' Laser Beams on their Heads. C'mon Hasbro, quit slackin' off with the rehashes!
...but you've got to admit that Sgt. Drake Alexander version 6 is the best one yet! It certainly fixed the screw ups from version 4 and 5.
Put version seven will have five arms and be able to pin enemies. He is gonna be cool.
i just knew somthing like this was going to happen
I can't wait for the flying ninja kitties of super toilet paper molecule ripping to come out in wave 17!!! and have you heard about their special, "squirrelnator yo-yo uber bonding?" THIS IS AWESOME!!!
FEAR THE WRATH OF MY NINJA KITTIES, YOU GIANT HAMSTER MONKEY CUPHOLDERS!!!

I am sorry but I never got into Milton Bradley's version of Heroscape. I only play with the original Hasbro collectibles.

On the one hand I wish I didn't sell all of my Hasbro HS stuff on eBay because those were definitely the best ones. On the other hand my kids get to go to college so I guess on the balance it was a wise, if sad, decision. At least the first couple waves from MB were decent enough.

I was thinking about the Large figure set #3 and was wondering if there will be any more dragons this time around (or just one). If there are one or none at all what figures do you think we might expect instead?
I'm hoping for a Centaur as one of the smaller figures of the set.

Big figures I'd like to see are:
Utgar Mammoth or Pteradon Orc Rider
Einar Dragon (though I don't expect to see it with the mentioned hunters)
Utgar Frost Giant
Ullar Hydra

A Frost Giant would be AWESOME!
Utgar and Ullar's armies clash, the vipers charge towards the Marro, the Elves attack the zombies, and right in the middle Jotun has a shoving match with his arch-rival...

Utgar needs a huge figure. Grimnak is only really good in an orc army, and Mimring just sucks. Krug is nice, but hes not as big and impressive as Braxus, Nilfheim, or Jotun. He needs a towering frost giant to drive fear into the hearts of his opponents.

how about a marro mounted dragon, or a marro mounted hive lord, on a giant mutaed marro?
mimring is great when he flies on a castle wall and kills 2 sets of snipers and half of the 4th mass.

Brunak is also huge.
Huge figures per general:
Einar - 0
Vydar - 1
Jandar - 1
Ullar - 2
Utgar - 5
And I'd wager a frost giant would probably go to Jandar personally. Probably one of Jotun's brothers.

HAHA! I didn't think about monster Marro cause he's not out yet, and I forgot about SBN because I don't have Orms Return yet!!!
Still, a frost giant would rock my socks.

If anyone needs a huge figure, its Einar! Just one character immune to Braxas's/Jotun's/etc. special attack would be great.

Just recieved my wave 6 and some commons I was missing from wave 4 from house mouse last night. I opend the packages looked at the bounty of heroscape goodness in front of me , took a great sigh of relief, and thought to my self 'Finally I'm caught up'. I get on line today to surf scapers and find this thread. Now I'm thinking to myself 'Wonder how long it going to take to catch up with all that?'

Oh,
I read: "Just one character immune to Jotun's special attack would be great." and assumed you were somehow referring to his Wild Swing Special Attack, which I'm pretty certain no one is immune. Just on a side note, both the Einar Imperium and Kiova are immune to Throw 14. The Braxas comment still stands however.
