First I have to say thanks to UtahScott for getting the event planned. I had a lot of fun. I have to say the look on Nickmodaily's face was priceless when I said that I decided to do something crazy and put Dund in my army. (his army was 8 squads of zombies) There were 9 of us and three three player maps.
My army was Braxas, 2x Marrden Hounds, and Dund.
My first game was on a map that neutered my strategy. The map was essentially a giant volcano. It had a lot of choke points that would restrict movement on everyone except fliers and lava resistant. It also didn't have much room for double space figures. I was the first one out on that map. I played against my son and my neighbor's daughter. She ended up winning on that one.
My second game was on a much better map for my army. I was playing this one against my neighbor and his daughter. I was able to send out the Marrden Hounds with the primary objective of killing all heroes. My plan was to send out Braxas after that to mop up all the squaddies. Then Dund was the clean up hitter when there was a good chance of catching all the order markers on a single card. I ended up killing all but three heroes. Braxas took out Eldgrim in one attack from height, and then he mopped up all the squad figures. Finally he got caught engaged with both X-17 and Retiarius (I think). I was hoping to get one of them knocked out before Braxas went down (had 1 life left), but I ended up getting both of them with the special.
Never got the chance to face the zombies. They looked overwhelming when I would get a look at those games. I had to say ouch when I took a look at the other map and saw an Orc army and Krug is carrying a negation marker. I still haven't played Ortimus after three game days. We had a great time, thanks everyone.
