Thanks, Mr. Van Ness, for giving us some first-hand information about the release of Marvelscape. I really appreciate that. Hopefully the delays will result in a top-notch product, something that will stand strong alongside the core game for as long as they last.

Secondly... GAHH! I have to wait until summer? Why can't I have it noOOooOOww?

I have to say, Craig's indication that these two sets will be basically compatable comes as a major relief. Now I won't need to do nearly as much work to put them all together. Now, then, comes the hard part... who do I do as a custom first??

Well, first, I too am pretty disapointed that marvel won't be coming out until summer. But I guess it makes sense, since all the movies will be fresh on everyone's mind (especially the ones featuring Doom, Surfer, Spidey and Venom).

I am also quite releaved to hear that a figure like the hulk can take on 21 Romans. That means that the stats will actually be on the same scale as current heroscape characters...just on a level appropriate to a superhuman. That means scenarios crossing the two will be really interesting.

I also wonder if the Romans were mentioned very specifically. You see, 21 Romans might have the same point value as the Hulk, and maybe that is all Craig was talking about. But the Romans are special in an importnat way. Roman Archers have an ability called Arrow Volley, that allows them to combine all of their attack rolls into one attack. Now if the hulk has something like 5 automatic shields, to represent his indestructibility, then obvoiusly, it would be impossible for almost any normal character to hurt him. But if you used a volley with the comined attack of a whole bunch of Roman Archers, maybe they could actually do some damage. What do you think? Were the Romans just the first thing that popped in Craig's head, or was he discretely suggesting that the Romans are one of the few options you could use that would actually be able to take on the Hulk?

Hey, I LOVE Mysterio. Easily one of my favorite villains. That sounds like a good place to begin to me!

Bingo!

The summer release of Marvelscape is most likely for this very reason.

Yeah, I've said much the same... just very frustrating, though, since I've been looking forward to it since October. What? Delayed gratification? Huh??? :|

I can hold out a bit for Marvel Heroscape. The delay is no big deal for me. It's the classic Heroscape delays that really get me in a funk.

Ah Mysterio. Spidey had a nice selection of early villains thanks to Stan Lee and the definitive Spidey artist, Steve Ditko: Vulture, Lizard, Doc Oc, Mysterio, Kraven, Green Goblin!!!
I'm a Mysterio fan, too.
:toast:

Klaw, the self-styled master of sound (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Klaw), is another great villain.
