Hard to recover from that one.

...and that's why we never use that glyph at my table. That and the revive glyph. Of course, this game is a lot about random but theses two glyphs add too much random and can bring a big and sudden imbalance in a game.

No way! I love the massive curse. It makes it into our games nearly every time. I've lost a fresh mimring twice to it, but it's so much fun to get near it and decide, "do I wanna push the button? I have the power."

And if you don't love Mitonsoul, how do you feel about Deadeye Dan. He can be a repeating, range 10 ( ), Massive curse with better odds!

Some of you may remember the thread I made at the HQ about how my friend complained a lot each game, one way I got the whining to go down is to stop using glyphs, it helped a little bit. but if I still did and that happened to me I wouldn't be able to crawl out of that hole easily.

Tonight when my friends and I played a massive curse took out Braxas and Charos. Neither had taken any damage at the time.

I can understand and respect people who like to play with the glyph of Mitonsul but the story Mud Turkey relates is another example of why my gaming group does not play with that glyph anymore. (see my previous post above) For the ones who do, well, enjoy the imbalance !

For kids the Glyph of Mitonsul is a lot of fun. If my 9 year old makes a map he always includes it.

I usually don't include it in my maps, but it's not imbalanced. Every figure on the board has an equal chance of dying. It can certainly decide a game, but I wouldn't call it imbalanced.

Ok, the word I choose wasn't the best to describe my though. What I do not like is the suddent imbalance it can create if one side of the table has more luck than the other side. This can sap an up to now fun fight.

My brother and I don't play with the glyph at the moment...he seems to just want to battle without them but i like having them in when i build big maps! I've used the Revive glyph a few times and the last time i used it i revived some of my opponents figures but not my own!

I don't use that glyph or the resurection glyph because it puts too much to chance.

I agree, the glyphs can change the tide of the game...but on the other hand it does make things more interesting!?

I hardly ever use glyphs. But they do make the game more interesting. I just prefer two or more HUGE armies tearing eachother apart. There is no need for the magic of glyphs, but thats just my opinion. :D

I have had truelly badluck. In one game trun one someone stepped on the glyph killing my Kee-Mo-Shi, Jotun, Major Q9, DED, a microcorp, a nakita, Runa and a 4th Mass. My opponent lost nothing. I played the game and almost won.

i say use the glyphs of curse and respawn, it may or may not help you, besides you will win some, lose some. try the yatzee method, whisper yatzee at the dice while shaking them and they tend to roll in your favor, trust me i've done it alot :D

I agree with most of the others. The massive curse is just stupid. Heroscape is already dealing with some luck, why make it even more? I too have played it once or twice before, without much happening except my realin was killed one time, but I still won... hehe . Now when I play with my brothers, we just play without the massive curse because it can change the game to much.

When my friends and I play we mix up all of the glyphs and just select them randomly. We leave Massive Curse in the mix just for the heck of it.

that would suck to have to lose jotun from massive curse at the begining of the game especialy if you flippedover the glyph. :jotun:
