Just an idea I thought of, haven't gotten to play with it yet, nor do I have pics, but I thought I'd pitch it here to see what everyone else thought anyway.

Somewhere on the map, I thought it would be cool to have a small stack of dice that figures could retrieve and later use. The stack would be 4 or 5 dice high. It would probably be best to use Valkyrie dice, as they would look better, especially if you lined up all the symbols on the same side. When a figure adjacent to the stack is taking a turn, instead of attacking it can try to take a die from the "shrine." As the dice are relatively large compared to the figures, a roll would be required to remove a die. I haven't gotten the roll requirements down yet, but I figured, rather than just a simple set of numbers, there'd be a formula based on the figure's size to determine how difficult it is for that figure to take a die from the shrine.

Here's what I was thinking: 20 - SIZE* - Height + #dice currently on shrine = # you need to roll or higher on d20 to take die.

For example, a Sentinel tries to take the first die from the top of a stack of 5. 20 - 2 - 6 + 5 = 17. The Sentinel would need a 17+ to take a die.
Let's take Braxas taking a lower die: 20 - 4 - 13 + 3 = 6+. Easy pickings for a dragon.
Roborat: 20 - 1 - 3 + 5 = well, there's no way that little guy will take the top die (21+).

*1 for small, 2 for medium, 3 for large, 4 for huge.

Once a figure has successfully removed a die from the shrine, place the die on that figure's army card. Whenever that unit rolls an attack or defence, before rolling, it can add the shrine die to its roll. Once used, remove the die from the game. For squads, the die can be used by any member in the squad. There is a limit of one die at any time per army card.

Additionally, there could be a d20 on top of the shrine. The same roll would be needed to take it as the other dice. When a unit with the d20 on their army card would roll the d20, they can roll the one on their card in addition to the normal one, and choose the result they want to keep. Since not all units use the d20, but would likely want to take the normal dice, anyone who has the d20 on one of their army cards can also opt to use it in addition to their initiative roll, again keeping the result of their choice. The d20 is also removed from the game after use.

What do you think?

I love the Idea! I think its pretty kewl. I just think that the dice standing up in the middle of the battlefield might look a little bit ugly. I think you should make an altar-type thing to place the dice on top of. I'm gonna make something like that for myself. Nice Idea!

I thought of it because I realised I don't really have anything to make cool terrain out of, so I figured why not make it out of dice? But not having anything else to use (I'm sure I could come up with something, though) it's just the dice for now.

I would do it with a glyph. The glyphs with wave 1 had army cards so you could make a custom glyph and card and put the dice on the card.

The point was supposed to be the figures litterally hauling the dice off the top of the shrine. I don't want it to be just some dice vending machine, where they push a button and the dice just pop out.

Great idea. It would look kinda funny seeing a dice out of nowhere if you were in valhalla.
Drake: Attac- what the, is that a dice? :D

That kind of prevents the player to being sucked into the game world, but I really like the idea. I'm always looking for random things to throw onto the battlefield.

I'm sure if you wanted you could have custom dice that blended with the scenery better. *Shrug* Just thought it was a fun idea others might like to try.

Ok, so I was thinking about this the other day, and what about this: You have a stack of normal six sided dice. A figure with a six sided die can roll that in addition to a d20 roll, and add whatever the six sider gets to what the 20 sider gets.

For example: Ne-Gok-Sa has a six sided die on his card. He tries to Mindshackle someone. Before he rolls, his owner may choose to also roll the six sider, thus increasing the chances of being successful.
