So i finally played a game on my Elemental map (woohoo!). I played W6. I used KA, TSA, 2x Zombies(!!!), and Eldgrim. I also had the Kozuke, Tagawa, HT and Drake in my army. Eldgrim died really early on, and went to drake, who died to too much later. I attempted to take the lava zone with him, but damn saylind beat me to it. Then he got ambushed my 3 Obsidian Guards, and then had to roll for damage at the end of the round (boo on you drake!). The zombies stood there and decayed more (didn't do anything AT ALL! what a waste). The TSA killed 3 Gladiatrons and a Blastatron (who had height advantage). Then they died, and a few turns later so did HT. I used my Tagawas in the early game to take water, killing 2 EOV and Mittens to get their bloodlust and control the water zone. Mittens killed on in the process. I moved the other into the snow zone and took control of it (most tedious thing EVER!)

So here i am with 2x Dzu teh, 2 Samurai and a EOV. My opponent has the rock and lava zone, as well as 3/8 glads left and 7/8 blasts left, Laglor, 3 Nakitas, 3 Gnators, Saylind, 3 MCA (his zone holders). I have to use my Tagawas to hold the zones. I send the EOV in to attack and kill 2/3 Gnators, then die. Dzu-teh move out to try and take the rock zone, but no success. The heavy Gruts blocked my path (jerks). Then the one last Gnator and the Nakitas move in and kill my water tagawa and it's over.

Overall, I'm rather impressed with W6, KA could have done better, but what can he do when he's surrounded with 3 Glads and gets Shot by 3 Blasts? The TSA were surprisingly effective, and the zombies could have done better, if i had been anticipating my opponents moves better. Still have some others to try out, so we'll see about them later

I did like the way the game played out. I got real pissed when KA died (i punched a piece of particle board and threw KA in the air [no, he didn't break!] and left him where he landed for a while). The zone control worked out really well, but could have been better if i built a strategic army rather than a "lets play with W6!" army...

nice battle, did the zombies die or what? was it a CTF kinda match with command posts or something of that sort. I'm not familiar with the map.

I love the Tagawa Samarai Archers they are very useful, KA is good if you keep him from getting locked down and obliterated. :P You need at least 4 squads of Zombies for them to do much, so thats another problem. :)

Nice battle report, by the way.

See that picture of a map in my signature? Click it and explore. It's all in there somewhere.

yeah, i was eager to test my W6 out. Thats what this game was about. I probably woul dhav drafted smarter if i didn't have new figures calling at me to "try them out" . Wee all know how that goes

Can someone explain to me just what is so special about the Samurai Archers? An attack of 2 is pretty average for a 3-unit ranged squad, and how often does counterstrike do anything when you only have 3 defense dice? I'm not saying that they're worthless, but I'd probably rather have the Marro Warriors in my army.

Well, for a cheap ranged common squad, they're actually really good. I've been dying to field an effective Samurai army; these guys make it possible.

You can't really compare the MW to the TSA. The MW are unique, so you can only have 1 set of them. the TSA are common. Their stats are also easily modified.

if you get 2+ squads of TSA and keep them around Hatamoto Taro, they should be better

You do know HT's effect only works when defending with a samurai/ashigaru against a normal attack from and adjacent figure, right?

After i read that, HT lost uber respect in my book :(

Umm quick comment to LordCharos...
Why does your avatar pic have the bone dragon and not, well, Charos? This makes the king angry... Do not abuse Charos' awesomeness!

~~BW

P.S. I'm glad you added the roads to this map, this could be a poster child map for the program with those pics, perhaps I shall feel free to acquire it...

Didn't want to make a new thread to discuss a few more W6 figures, so i'm posting here:

I played a 3-player game today. We were using 1000 point armies.

Mine:
2x WoA
Einar Imperium
Runa
Theracus
2x Shades of Bleakewoode
Kiova
2x Aubrien Archers
MBS
Kaemon Awa

Opponent 1:
Nilf
Braxas
Jotun
Syvarris
Grimnak
Charos

Opponent 2:
Charos
Su-Bak-Na
DW9K
Carr
Morsbane
Raelin
NGS
Syvarris

I think i covered them all. We played on a field looking like this:

/---------------\
|_____________|
---

Starting zones were the 2 slashes and the 3 lone hyphens. I started in the 3 lone hyphens, opponent 1 was to my left, opponent 2 was to my right (i'm never starting between 2 enemies again).

Anyways, opponent 2 moves DW9K in to take advantage of my clustered army, since mine was much bigger than theirs. He exploded a big cluster, then my shades went in and tried to devour DW9K (did nothing; very unimpressed). Then opponent 1 moves in syvarris and kills 2 WoA.

MBS moves in and does 3 damage to syvarris. Theracus carries KA over to DW9K and sits there. KA is attempting to kill DW9K (no success). DW9K explodes again, killing all 3 imperium before they even get a chance to move, and Kiova's effect wasn't much help, since they had to defend against 3 skulls. They'll get another chance.

On to the point of this: Runa

She started off horribly. Narrowly escaping Grimnaks Chomp (he went for my useless Kiova instead), she was able to kill Nilfheim, MBS (mine!), Jotun (normal attack; SBN had already done 6 damage), SBN, Braxas, Morsbane, and Kaemon Awa (after he was mindshackled). All in one game. Very impressed with Runa. She will be seing more action than the shades will.
