Ok so I want to know what video game you played that you either want remade with better graphics and such or a sequel to that did not come out.
I for one want Legend of Dragoon to be remade with better graphics. I tihnk the storyline is great and the concept is amazing but the graphics are **** poor even for that time when they had FF VIII.
Ideas or comments on my pick?

I agree about wanting a Legend of the Dragoon, that was an awesome game but I thought the graphics were above average for that time frame, especially for a generic brand video game. (not squaresoft).

Sequels:
Star Control II (has to be made by toys for bob and ignore that star control III ever existed)
Grim Fandango
Wing Commander Series
X-Com: UFO Defense
Remakes:
Zork
Wasteland (Fallout already kind of was but I'd still like to see a real remake)
EDIT: Autoduel

I definately agree about Legend of Dragoon, that was one of my favourite PS1 games. I would definatly like to see a remake of it. The game I want most to see a remake of is Final Fantasy 7. I don't care what anyone else thinks, I say that it was the greatest game ever created and if they made a graphically updated version, I would definately buy it.
Hopefully this (http://www.gamespot.com/ps3/rpg/finalfantasyvii/media.html?sid=6124987&mode=gameplay&autoplay=6124987&om_act=convert&om_clk=mostpop) is an indication that they are working on it.
Other than that, I would probably say FF8.

That would be AWESOME.

I enjoy all the adaptations of the side scroller nintendo games I grew up playing. Super Mario 64 is my all-time favorite video game, followed closely be the Legend of Zelda series. I haven't played the newer Metroid games for the Gamecube (or Wii, for that matter) - but those are the kind of games of which I never seem to tire.
I would love to see "Kid Icarus", especially, in a 3-d environment. While not a Nintendo brand release (Acclaim?) - Master Blaster is a game I remember fondly that a polygon remake would be cool to play.

LEMMINGS
Yeah, some updated graphics, but all in all the same old 2D side veiw. Give some reall nifty new tasks, new abilities, with a multiplayer option (each player is given a limited amount of lemmings and abilities, and whoever makes it to the designated area first wins)
GHEN WAR (Which is really nothing more than Lost Planet, so technically they already have)
Alfred Chicken
Mario Paint
Prince of Persia (yay, they did this one)
Rocket Ranger
Sword Master
Thundercats (I just want another TC game. I don't care what it does, I just want one, :D )
EDIT:
Marble Madness (which is nothing more than Monkeyball, but the name Marble Madness is better)
Excite Bike......*drool*

Forget my earlier post about Mario64 being my favorite game of all-time: it's LEMMINGS!
And CA's summary of the updated version is spot on to what I would envision.
And one last game before I enter a black hole of nostalgia: Rygar.

Whoever said Kid Icarus; I agree. It needs a revamp, just like Metroid got. Maybe a FPA, First-Person Adventure?
Now, the reason I'm posting - Zombies Ate My Neighbors! It got a sequal years ago, around 1994, but it was terrible. The jazzy, monster movie spoof is considered a classic, and needs a sequel badly. The game is great, with over 50 levels, co-op, and dozens of monsters, power-ups, and weapons. However, I doubt it will go through, unless Nintendo can get it on the Virtual Console. Sadly, LucasArts seems to have forgotten about this gem. An FPS, another top-down, whatever - just keep the fun and flavor.
:(
But I doubt it will ever happen...

I think a polygon remake of Chrono Trigger would be cool. The story is robust enough that you could keep all the plot elements from the original and throw in more plot as well ad a few elaborate side quests and mini games. The characters could be fleshed out (graphically and back story-wise) and the game could include random battles in the overworld.

As someone else stated, the Original X-Com UFO Defense for Playstation should be remade exactly as-is in terms of gameplay, with the only change being the graphics... (otherwise they risk messing up an awesome game!)
UFO Defense still stands as the BEST strategy/tactics game for console gaming ever made... It's still extremely fun to play (GREATEST replay value of any game I've played), but I would love to see it with modern graphics in wide-screen HD format.

I would have said Fable, except I just found out the other day they are already working on a sequel, it sounds like it will be really good.So did the first one, and we all know how that turned out. ;)
In all fairness, the game was fairly good, but certainly not the game they advertised it out to be, which is leading me to be very cautious of Fable 2's development...
By the way... everyone that was talking about X-COM: UFO Defense... take a gander here (http://www.projectxenocide.com/). The website doesn't appear to be updated very often, but as far as I know, it is still in development. That project is likely the best we are going to get, although there has been at least one "spiritual" sequels to the series (UFO: Aftermath, I believe.). And Rebelstar: Tactical Command for GBA is very much the same tactical combat system from X-COM.
Also, I'm waiting for a sequel to Starcraft, but this project (http://www.wc3campaigns.net/revolution/index.php) will probably be complete before Blizzard gets off its WoW-arse and makes it. Heck, we are still waiting for Starcraft: Ghost, for pete's sakes.

A game where you shoot zombies with squirt guns and they go Poof? Though your intentions are noble enough, I don't think that's going to happen. I suppose such an idea might be a possibility on the Wii, but not on anything else.
And, to continue on the theme of blood and gore, I want to see Bushido Blade on the Wii! Oooohh, yes. The cutting, the slashing!

Of course, the Wii is the way to go. By not bloody and gorey, I mean a cartoonish game. There could be some blood, but it should be a cel-shaded game. Cartoon, fun, kiddie game. For all ages, but aimed at about... 10-12 year olds. That would be golden...

I would like to see a sequel to Gladius (XBox). The characters were groan-inducing but the battles had some pretty cool gladiator flavor. In fact, I've been trying to get inspired to re-create some of the arenas in HeroScape (I still might but I need a lot of sand tiles). Gladius was a mish-mash of tactics and button mashing with the stereotypical RPG item management. Anyway, the sequel would have better co-op play than the original and would dispose of the cheesy story bits and characters. I would love pretty much anything that has turn based movent and tactics in it! The deadest genre in gaming - yay...
I forget who mentioned Starcraft:Ghost but from my understanding that got canned over a year ago.

I'd love to see a sequel to an old playstation game called Project Overkill. I loved that game, it's still one of my all time favorites.

It's the second in a trilogy. The thrid is being made as we speak and the demo for it can be found here. http://www.ufo-afterlight.com/pages/hq.html. The combat system is a mix between Turn-Based and Real-Time. It's called SAS I think. I REALLY hated it at first, but once I got used to it, I found that I liked it much more than turn-based. I think it gives you more control over your characters and what they do.

Me, I want the original FF7 to be updated with better graphics and voiceovers. It does not even have to have anything new gameplay wise in it. As well, if they make another sequel to it, I want it to be a turn/time based combat RPG, not some shooter or movie. (Not saying I didn't like Dirge of Cerberus, I quite liked it.)

You should play Ocarina Of Time, and Majora's Mask before you start playing Twilight Princess. It kind of explains the story better. Windwaker is an ok game, but it practically has NO RELEVANCE to the other zelda games before it. But still worth beating.

And though Majora's Mask didn't have as much Gameplay perks (it was short, and mostly made up of Side Quests) it's story is one of my favorites, right after WW. Speaking of which, I think MM needs a Spiritual Sequal, one that has the same type of story and game-style (Side-quest heavy). Anyone else agree?

Well, it does explain the future of Hyrule, but outside of that it only serves as an Epilogue.
Nice sig, BTW. :D Majora's Mask is underrated. Majora's Mask is the king of all games. It is probably one of the best games i've ever played.
And was the sig comment directed at me? if so, woot...

Actually they just release a sequal to one of my all time faves, but I'm not horribly impressed. Medievel Total War 2. I loved the first but the second just looks to me like the same thing on just a bigger scale. Now if you had MTW's game play in a Nepolianic setting, that would be awesome.
Another of my greatest favorates was Sea Dogs (a pirate RPG/sailing ship battle sim). They were supposidly working on a Sea Dogs 2, but I never saw it.

That was the beginning of the end of Bethseda, as far as I'm concerned (and Oblivion was the next step).

The old genesis game
TOE JAM & EARL
They made a 2nd and 3rd , but they sucked big time, totally different graphics, and structure of how the board is layed out, the original is one of my all time favorite to party to, every level you get to partake of whatever it is you like to partake of. Such an amazing game, I have yet to see anything I like as much. Just the killer game for 2 people.
Twisted Metal I -- the next couple are ok games (TM 2, 3, qand 4 ), but agian they totally changed the concept of the view point of the game, and took away the way above view. TM 1 was considered the best driving game of its time ( by all the reviews I have ever seen on it ), so why change something that is so good for what everyone else is doing, just lame follow-up
I pray Marvel Scape keeps the basics all the same from HS!

Seriously? I've seen that title a million times but I never made a connection. Oh wait, maybe that's because they didn't make one! OK well, excited now. Um, I take it from the general tone of your post, that you're not a fan. But I really enjoyed Sea Dogs, the Original. Is the Pirates of the Coup-Out any good as a game. Decent game play, sensible RPG, fun sail boat battles, and such? I hated Sid Meyer's thing.

Decent game play, sensible RPG, fun sail boat battles, and such? I hated Sid Meyer's thing.I never played it, or much of the original, for that matter. I did like what I played, but there are so many other games to play... My coup-out comment was just an angered statement that Bethseda would strip a game of a sort-of well-known title and give it a Mass-market movie title just to sell more copies of it to the general populace. Not like the game actually has anything to do with the movie (other than being the in same area... :P)
What didn't you like about Oblivion? My hardware can't handle it but when I upgrade I want to play it...The horrid level scaling (Level 18 (or so)? Okay, all (and I mean all) Bandits are now magically going to acquire the supposedly rare Daedric and Glass Armor and weapons. And not just one or two... no... fully decked out in 'em. This also artificially increases the difficulty of the game while breaking suspension of belief/lore.), the boring, short main quest (im-not-so-ho), the failed promises of the radiant AI... oh, and the goggles on the glass armor (they do nothing). It just didn't seem to have the same magic Morrowind (or Daggerfall) had.
The graphics were also not that great, imho, and were actually somewhat polygon-inefficient (WAY too many polygons on the bear model, for instance (I think it's like... 8000 or so, if I remember correctly). If you ask me, Twilight Princess looks way better than Oblivion does. Artistic Style is more important to me than flashy graphics.
Take a look at the modding forum on elderscrolls.com, and you'll see that I'm not alone on these issues (level scaling mods in particular are numerous).
That said... I did really enjoy the Dark Brotherhood's quest line. The Thieves Guild was pretty good, but not as good as the Dark Brotherhood. Vampirism is also fairly entertaining, if not somewhat backwards (you'll see what I mean).
Edit: I forgot to mention Oblivion's "premium" (only in price) mods. That's really the main reason I've started to worry over Fallout 3's fate. That and their decision to cut out spears, crossbows, and thrown weapons.

That's a great pick for a remake game. It was a game that was really fun at it's time but still had a lot of room to be done better. If a top notch developer took on this project it could be really amazing. I'm thinking folks in Japan have a better track record of the kind of outside-the-box innovative thinking in game design that would be needed for this one to work well. I'd like to see this one, in particular, be done overseas.

Smash T.V. I own the SNES port of the game, along with it's sequel Total Carnage on Midway Arcade Classics.
But i'm still trying to beat Smash T.V.! This game is so difficult, and scarface is the most unfair boss ever.
How would they go about remaking though? The same gameplay with different levels? A First or Third Person Shooter?

Ok so I want to know what video game you played that you either want remade with better graphics and such or a sequel to that did not come out.
I for one want Legend of Dragoon to be remade with better graphics. I tihnk the storyline is great and the concept is amazing but the graphics are **** poor even for that time when they had FF VIII.
Ideas or comments on my pick?
Hell yes! The Legend of Dragoon is my all time favorite. The game was imprssive for the time and the FMVS still shatter late PS2 titles in many ways. I'd hate to see them make it into an Action RPG to follow the trend though. I just want a graphics update and an expanded inventory (cause you couldn't carry much). No voice overs, combat upgrades, nothing.

Interesting topic. Probably the ones most in need of a remake or sequel are:
Master of Magic (PC) - the old MicroProse classic
X-com: Ufo Defense (PC) - another fantastic classic and one of the best TBS ever.
Star Control Series (PC) - Needs a remake or a genuine sequel written by Paul Reiche III and Fred Ford
Planescape: Torment (PC) - Best written RPG ever
Homeworld (PC) - Thankfully there's a third sequel in the works!
Those are the only ones I can really think of that need a sequel or remake and that were great games from the past. :)

The great thing about it is that there's still a thriving community for it. They recently came out with "Creature Chaos" with around 15 new creatures. I still play it online from time to time. Despite coming out a long time ago, you can still always find a match.

I'm sorry about this Super Atheist but the Army Men series was one of the worst blight's on the world of gaming. If you put the Army Men RTS on one end of the spectrum (i.e. the crappy end) and put, say, Company of Heroes or Homeworld (the original one) on the other end (in the great area of the spectrum)...the gap in between would hold a googol worth of universes.
That's just how crappy that game was and no, it's not a matter of "opinion". That's the fact, Jack! (With apologies to Bill Murray and Harold Ramis in Stripes.)

Wow...did I get lucky on this one. They are remaking this game for PC, 360, and PS3 as a 3rd Person shooter game. If this isn't good enough, they are also remaking the original side-scrolling NES game for PC, Live Arcade, and PS Network called Bionic Commando Rearmed (Which has Co-Op play now!).

I agree with Chrono Trigger. I doubt that there will be a true sequel by the same team though. Chrono Cross was dissapointing, and didn't really capture the same feeling. The DS would seem to be a great place to put a true sequel to the game....it could either focus on Chrono and company again or take the final fantasy route and pick up with a different, unconnected band of time-travelers.
Super Mario RPG deserves a real sequel, as the Paper Mario games have spun off in their own direction. If Square Enix could get on board again that would be awesome.
Perfect Dark got a sequel, but it was pretty crappy despite Rare being involved. Perhaps Rare has lost their touch...I'm sure the teams behind Bioshock or Gears of War could do a better job with the license. Give a new studio a shot at making a great spy shooter.
I was a huge fan of Beyond Good & Evil, P sychonauts, and Grim Fandango. I list them together because I don't think any of the three have any hope of ever getting a sequel....sales is sales.
