Wow! There must be loads of people out there that, like me, are fanatical about Robert Kirkman's Walking Dead series of Zombie comics/graphic novels. Absolutely suberb! Volume 5 has just been released in the UK by Image Comics, taking the story up to the end of issue 30. Great stuff! How far has it got in the States?

Walking Dead is absolutely one of the best comics out there right now.

A fantastic comic, especially for Romero fans. The best part is that it is more of a post-apocalyptic survival tale, with zombies.

I got Hex_Enduction_Hour hooked on it recently (but then again he is a comic book and zombie fan; so that was not difficult). :)

I found out about the series too late to get the individual comics (some of the first issues sell for quite a bit here), so I read the graphic novel compilations. Here in the states we've had volume 5 for a while and part 6 is coming soon:

I received the hardcover compilation of the first twelve issues for my birthday last year and it is terrific. I am going to pick up the next hardcover edition when it comes out.

As I've mentioned before, this comic series would make for a great TV show on HBO or some other channel that allows for edgier programming.

Yeah, I have to thank Annerios for that hook-up. They're great.
While reading the books, I find myself way involved trying to decide what I would do in certain situations.
There are some unique takes on the zombie scene - covering one's self up with carcass juice so the undead can't smell you? A little weird, but I haven't seen that before!
I Prefer the artist in the second and consecutive volumes over the guy in the first book.

And the main character - you can see him losing it as he makes the difficult choices and leads the group.

Welcome to the boards, P.E.Hustler!

On behalf of our zombified and comic perusing community I extend to you a laurel and a hearty handshake.

~Aldin, who never quite got into the zombie thing but liked the Resident Evil movie

Has anyone else laid out volumes 1-5 out on the floor to see the big Zombie freize? Pretty cool!

It weird. I'm not a big trade paperback comic guy. I guess I just like the anticipation of waiting each month for the story to continue. When I was living in Virginia, I bought a lot of comics, but didn't really have times to read everything I purchased. When I moved to Maine, I decided to go through them. I was shocked to come across a copy of Walking Dead #1 in my collection, along with copies of both Y the Last Man and Invincible #1's. I decided to get the Walking Dead #1 graded and it received a 9.8. I have still yet to read the series.

I understand. Plus, nothing is as cool as getting a stack of new comics - several different titles at once - and spending major downtime reading them all.
I'm just a TPB junkie is all.

Been there. Done that.

I just got the 2nd hardcover compilation today and it is real nice. Unfortunately, it does not have a neat extra story like the 1st one did, but getting to see the cover art for all of the issues as full color pages with no intruding text is a treat.

Trade paperback 6 is out as well. That volume is pretty rough. Things get ugly for some of our heroes and there is a lot of violence. Can't wait for volume 7!

in germany we had volume 4 and at the end of the book we hat 4-5 pages about, zombie, books, games, orgins ect.

i think the first book was the best , the next volumes have go to much drama , the ppl in the story dies to fast, i would like see more stories with ppl that will meet and stay aolne when the groupe get away.

the prision story was for me too high all these killings , and wipe out of all new charakters that comes in the book before.

for me are thre too manny zombies , i miss the ting that now the living ppl can have any thing. but i like to read the book a epic zombie movie.
