Just wondering when the next one is and who's hosting? I think it's Raleigh's turn but it doesn't really matter to me.

I have a brother in law in Hickory. He might be interested in this. But what does SHASS stand for?

SHASS = Semi-Hex-Annual Scapers Scrimage? Is that right? I don't remember. I'm not sure about an event for January because well, January is almost over, and there hasn't been too much heroscape going on lately in Raleigh at least. I'm going through scape withdrawal though!!!!! Please let me know if you guys are still getting together to play on the weekend or anything. I think Primal was mentioning something about a February event a while back too.

I am so on the hook to put something together...but I just don't know that I can having never run any kind of gaming tournament, etc.
The best I could do is to reserve a couple of tables at the gaming store in Cary and invite everyone to show and we could just slap some games together....

How about next weekend - Saturday the 27th or Sunday the 28th? I can probably get at least a couple Raleigh people to play as well.

I'm booked solid until after the super bowl. After the super bowl I'm good for anything that gets put together. I know Primal's group is still playing every Saturday (in gboro).
SHASS - semi hex annual scapers scrimage. semi hex annual somehow equates to once a month - don't ask.

Hey guys, I have a friend in Durham who has volunteered his nightclub to use once a month for our tournaments. It's right about the halfway point for Greensboro and Raleigh. I'll check on food and drinks but I'm pretty sure the place will have stuff for anybody who wants to buy anything. I'll get back to you very soon on the details but it looks like we have a place directly in the mid point that can host as many people as we want for future tourneys.

Wow, that sounds great! Very good central location.
However describing it as a "nightclub" has me a little curious....
What kind of atmosphere are we talking? I have this mental picture of a smoky, dimly lit bar with a bunch of rowdy drinkers surrounding the Heroscape table making fun of the geek-boys....

Well we'd be playing in the daytime so no worries.

I have been so stinking busy with other stuff I haven't looked at this website for months.
I was very excited to hear of the club. I think some great things can come from this, not only the renewing of the Rough Raliegh/Goobertown rivalry but also some great friendships and cool perks for everyone.
I will be honest, I am still digging around for the southeast regional tournament but this SHASS event in Durham can really rock.
the next SHASS should be Goobertown as the home team, Rough Raliegh as the visitor- Goobers come up with the maps and stuff and next time, RR's get the duty. We can really make this one awesome gathering each month, so get excited.
even though an individual will win, Goobertown/ Rough Raliegh competitors can add the overall scores together for Goober/RR bragging rights.
let's look at how many we will have at the tournament, so we can figure out how many maps we will need, entry fee, etc. etc.
I will check in with some peeps and try to find us some prizes or a sponsor or something.
logistically, we got this in the bag.
I hope to see Buddy Lee, Celtic Ghost and all of the rest at the next event.
lates.

Should we set up a poll to see what kind of tournament people want to play?
2 on 2 teams tournament?
400pt 1 v 1
500pt 1v1
Round robin or elimination?
Goobertown vs Raleigh?
I'm excited about this tournament! I miss you goober-folk

Any news on the location Noodles?
Any chance of us getting together a game in February?
Have all NC Heroscapers gone into non-HS coma?
I have to admit I have not been playing much lately as my sons and I have gotten on a Star Wars Starship Battles kick.
But with some of the exciting news coming out about the new Master Set in the fall and (hopefully) pictures coming out next week from the Toy Fair, perhaps we can be persuaded to get our HS groove back on!

We haven't played in forever guys....aI'm going to try and get the ball rolling on a game for June or July? I still have my friend's bar/club in Durham and he's willing to host for our Greensboro/Raleigh rivalry. You can purchase coffee, drinks, and some sort of food there.
June/July may let us see some new stuff perhaps?

There is a good chance I will be moving over towards the Raleigh area in the next several weeks. I would definitely be interested in coming to this.

Good timing...I haven't been on the boards for weeks....
I would love to play!
Just to muddy the water, another location alternative is the game store I have mentioned on other NC threads before. They just recently moved to a new location in Cary/Apex with even more room than before:

My friend's place lacks tables at the moment and that could end up being a problem. How is the table situation at the game store?

Even though I never got to play HS with you...you will always be remembered as my first Castle Set hook-up. Good luck and see you on the boards!

Its been too long fellow NC scapers!!!!! Do you guys think we could put together a tournament for August? If not maybe some of us could just get together to play on the weekends too. Any scape will be good b/c I'm going through withdrawal!
I think the gaming place Eye of Sauron suggested is a good idea. I may even have to drive to G-town for some non-tourney play. Do you guys in Greensboro still play on the weekends any?
Anyone interested? Seems like we have a handful of people in NC, so we should be able to get something going.

August 18, August 25, or September 1 would probablywork out for me. I am new to central NC area (Goldston is about an hour west of Raleigh and an hour south of Greensboro) so I would be useless putting an event together. But I would almost certainly come if an event were on one of those days.
Even if it is just meeting up with 2 or 3 other heroscapers I am down with traveling an hour or so.
