In a pic of a dice tower I saw some werid dice, they had both skulls and shields on them. are these custom made some how or are they part of hreoscape v2 or another game or somthing like that?

It is missing the "Thorgrim" window.

It is most likely what you will find in stores now.
Of the master set there are 3 versions
Original with sparkly water (and window showing Thorgrim figure and multiple rule books)
v1.5 with solid water (and window showing Thorgrim figure and multiple rule books) - no easy way to tell the difference, production numbers give some hints
v2 with solid water, revised combined rule/scenario book, new dice. Easy to identify as the window showing the Thorgrim figure was replaced by a photo of the Thorgrim figure.
The external box was changed to save cost (windows cost a fair amount to add) Fortunately it provides us with an easy way to identify the revised master set.

Hi Remy LeBeau,
You can come down to San Jose, there's plenty of Targets and Walmarts and Toys R Uses down here that have the figures when they come out. If you're willing to do an afternoon of driving around there's even some Toysruses in different adjacent cities that no one knows about (well few people know about, obviously since we go to them) that carry the HS waves at or around the scheduled release dates.
Last time I checked livermore and SJ are separated by the 84 and 45 minutes tops... besides the CCC welcome you to clack with us.... and sign up for reapersauruses' NorCal Gaming Day

You really need to check those production numbers, you may actually have "sparklies" still on the shelf!
they dont even have heroquest
I am going to assume that was a joke ... or else you may be waiting for quite some time as HeroQuest went out of print 15 years ago!

i, personally dont see whats so great about the combined dice, anyways. IMHO, they suck. they tend to roll more shields than skulls.
Oh, and BTW: you spelled "weird" wrong. I know, right? English teacher been lying all these years....(netherspirit, you stay out of it!)

I've used both dice. Personally, I have a slight inclination towards the red and blue dice. In my opinion, the seperate dice work better in dice towers then the mixed, because we just leave the attack dice in.
However, one of my friends has the mixed dice, and they work well, too.

so baisicaly mixed dice are just both of the dice mixed together?

yep. the lame white ones are the blue ones combined with the red ones. There is still 3 skulls and 2 shields, and 1 blank side. most members here prefer the first edition dice, and some even have ungraved ones so the images dont fade from extensive use...

if you want the new dice, go to ebay. or something. spending 40 bucks on another MS is a decent investment, becuae you get all that extra terrain to build with

A tip from somebody (I think Teamski?) for prolonging the life of your dice is clear nail polish, or something like that.

You can always repaint or chop-up the extra figures to make customs. Or you can simply sell or trade them...someone wants them.

Even if the figures sit in the box, I think an extra MS is worth it. Think about the terrain, think about the terrain......

Also, just a note:
The 1st edition boxes have 1st edition dice on the picture next to Migol's Tomb.
the 2nd edition boxes have 2nd edition dice in the picture.

If your Target still has sparklies on the shelf, you should buy all of them and make yourself a tidy profit.

Didn't someone point out that this eventually ate away at the dice and shouldn't be done? Anyone recall that? I had planned to put clear nail polish on my dice and I stopped because I was worried about it eating away the paint.
Anyone know anything about this?
