My b-day's comin up and out of no where my uncle starts talkin bout how cool a xbox 360 is and how good the graphics r and etc. and starts tellin me how wii had the problem w/ the remote and other bad things (since i asked for a wii for christmas). so im startin to think that im gonna get one for my b-day. Bottom line is are there any games out there that you all would recommend (i know that gears of war is awsome so dont tell me that!) doesn't matter wat the rating is cause my uncle is cool like that!

I'd recommend the Wii, my friend has a 360 and won't let me play ("Just another match of Red Steel, come on!"). But if you have to, Marvel: Ultimate Alliance and Dead Rising are great.

I would discourage getting a 360 right now. The 360 v2 is in production and the value of the original 360 will drop like a stone once the v2 ships. For now, get the Wii. In three or four months you'll be able to pick up the basic model 360 for half of what they're selling for today.

Ultimate Alliance is good. Dead Rising is great. You can do almost anything... 8)

Dryden. What proof do you have that this v2 is in production. I'm not trying to discredit your quote, but as far as I know the v2 is purely speculation. When you write v2 are you referring to the model with a built in hdmi and new chipset?
I am an avid 360 owner and would really like to see some cold hard evidence that a different version of the 360 is going to be released.
On a side note has anyone else noticed that the supposed "impossible to get" PS3 is friggen everywhere now?

That's because PS3 isn't really that great! The only game which is good is COD3, and in fact, it's even better on Wii! Other games like FEAR and Fall Of Man are just so boring!

I heard something interesting on G4 the other night. The Adult Entertainment Industry has chosen the HDDVD format instead of the Blu-ray technology. According to the report, Blu-ray is more expensive and more complicated for developers to use. How does this relate to anything? I didn't think it really did, until they mentioned the mid-80's. Back then there was a battle between VHS and Beta. Shortly after the Adult Entertainment Industry backed VHS, Beta went bye bye. Maybe it was coincidence, but the network seemed to think there was something to it.

And the price. $600 bones is a lot to drop on a system. FEAR is a nasty game son. Atleast on the PC. All these threads about the stinkin Wii is making me wanna go out and buy it now. :excited:

Odd, isn't it? History seems to be repeating itself. Blu-ray = second coming of Betamax? It may be too soon to tell, but I have a feeling it is...

Though not many people talk about it, porn was also instrumental in pushing forward a lot of advances in the internet in terms of streaming media, e-commerce, and other areas. They helped to pave the way for stuff like E-Bay, Amazon, Youtube, and video-on-demand. It's true that porn is sometimes a vanguard for media technology to some extent. It's just like how it is primarily PC games that drive Microsoft's continued dominance over Apple - even in the business sector - as well as the 2 year computer and OS upgrade cycle. Sometimes stuff is driven by forces in surprising places.
