I'd like to have as much as possible already decided to save time so:

First of all, space. I have my game room and 2 living rooms which are seperate but open to each other. I can put tables that are roughly 3.5 x 6 in each one. Do we want one massive table with everybody around it (I can get a 4 x 8 sheet of plywood for that), two rooms that are open and allow spying to take place, or three tables for 1 on 1 match ups?

Next, how many games and at what cost? I'm thinking 500 pt max per player for 1 on 1. Maybe 300 or 350 for teamplay / FFA. Might we get in 3 matches with that?

Any special scenerios or maps anyone wants to try?
How about this: Each player challanges someone he/she wants to play here to a specific scenerio. (We can still leave some time in for a grand finale smash fest if you guys want that).

1/2ltfighter, I challange you to a 500 pt "Assasination" - the target can be any cost within the 500 pts but must remain in the startup zone. Just an idea.

Election of a rule judge: I don't have the experience so I vote for RevDyer (he ought to be the most honest) to be the final arbiter on all rules questions. No calling or web surfing.

OK that should give us something to talk about. Now you guys tell me what you think. And no "It's up to you" nonsense. I've never done this before and I need input.

:)

Well, I'll be there, and function as a rules guy if that becomes necessary, I guess.

As to games: I prefer one on one or two on two games, rather than a huge battle fest. I can bring terrain, if that would help.

What time are we thinking about starting, by the way?

I'm really looking forward to this.

That's up to you guys.

And no "It's up to you" nonsense.

Hmmm, OK I guess I should probably practice what I preach here, huh? How about this from an email you sent awhile back:

It looks to me that we will come over and get there about ten in the morning. We can spend the rest of the morning setting up map(s) and then after a light lunch (no diet restrictions for me) we can spend the afternoon playing and hacking and slashing. That'll leave you an evening to celebrate too and we'll get home in shape to go to work on Tuesday.

I only have 2 MS, 1 RttFF, 1 castle, & 1 TT so I'd like to see another 2 MS (3 at most) and exp to finish out another board.

One thing I need from Bannister: Do you plan to make a day of it with the rest of us or were you thinking of linking up after work / school? If you are here early on we'll build a third board with your terrain. Otherwise there may not be time for that and we'll just do a 2 v 2 team battle while I take on the least competant player in a head to head test of duncery.

It may be eleven o'clock before I can get there (since I have a parishioner going into the hospital for knee surgery early that a.m.), but will be there before noon for sure (wouldn't want to miss eating Lenny's). I'll bring terrain for a map or two.

I'm looking forward to this a great deal.

It is my understanding that we are to challenge one another to a duel. Therefore, I would like to challenge the only other female (that I know is coming) to a 400pt match. Oh & ltfightr if you would prefer a larger battle I'm very greedy :!: & would be more than happy to accommodate you. We could go with a theme army, a specific general, or just an open match. Also what of the scenerio? King of the hill, glyph grab, seek & destroy, or a kill all.

Just let me know your thoughts, ltfightr, & I can tell you what team I'll be using 8) .

 I would love to fight you! I'm not sure of what Army I'll be going with but off the top of my head I would guess Jandar. I don't what kind of battle we do. I'm good with anything.

I will be there after work for sure. I plan on slipping out of the office a bit early but right know I am just to overloaded to get away for the day.

What do you need from me?

Terrain? Figures? Dips? Chips? Candle wax?

Hey B.
You might bring the same terrian as Rev said. Enough to build one small to medium size map. Other than that BYOFigures. I plan to have sufficient amounts of unhealthy snacks. The only other thing we need is a challange. Who do you and your protégé want to take on when you get there.

Rev, I'm thinking I might want to smack you around a little after I finish with 1/2ltfightr. Let's say 400 pts of love and understanding and just to make things interesting, how about no shooters, all figures must have a range of 1. I'll bring all Einar.

Sneek peak of Sarin and ltfightr matchup:

I'll take up your Range 1 challenge, Silverblade, if you'll front me five little points.

My army will be:
Nilfheim - 185
Gladiatrons - 80
Blastatrons - 60
Raelin - 80

Of course, if you can't stand the 5 point difference (and you are welcome to build a 405 army), then we'll have to renegotiate <grin>.

LOL! That took me a minute to get! I thought it was going to be a picture of the map.

Hey, Sarin!

Mom moment here.............. Do you need anything for the kids? Our DS shouldn't be too much trouble. You know how 5 year olds are....big fan of juck food.

I have to add, having met the DS, that he is not a problem at all; in fact, quite a well-behaved young man and easy to get along with.

SilverBlade
January 18th, 2007, 10:04 AM
You're certainly welcome to the 5 pts Rev, but what about the Blast's and Nil's Ice Breath? Do you just intend to limit them to adjacent targets. If so I might still have an advantage even at the 390 pts I've drafted.

Izumi, Kozuke, Tagawa, & Ninjas (go ahead, hit me. I dare ya)

Revdyer
January 18th, 2007, 12:27 PM
Oh, you're right; I'll have to deal with the Blasts and substitute something else. But, Nilfheim, you will note, from his card, has a range of 1. Or do you mean "no specials" too? If that's the case, then I'll have to revise and look seriously at all those Warriors of Ashra in my bag, or some zombies or something <grin>.

SilverBlade
January 18th, 2007, 02:34 PM
I don't guess I specified it, but I was really thinking no ranged attacks, speacil or otherwise. If Nilfheim's Ice Breath weren't quite so terrifying, I might say "yeah, use it anyway." But it is, and so I won't. If you need to juggle the army size around a little, go ahead.

Revdyer
January 18th, 2007, 04:19 PM
Ah, no distances at all...then I have to completely rethink...we might be having samarai against samarai.

Revdyer
January 18th, 2007, 05:15 PM
Okay, after a severe re-think, here is my intended 400 point, non-ranged, army:
Tarn Viking Warriors - 50
Heavy Gruts - 70
2x Blade Gruts - 80 (40 x 2)
Finn the Viking Campaion - 80
Grimnak - 120
TOTAL - 400

It ain't pretty, I'll grant you that. But it might be fierce.

SilverBlade
January 18th, 2007, 05:56 PM
Ouch, I wasn't worried until I hit the bottom of your list. Chompy is the only one I was really afraid of. Especially since all of my guys are squads. Oh well, at least you're not bringing any Minions along.

Hmm, I'm gonna have to think long and hard about this one. How do you get rid of a figure that kills automatically, gets free moves, and is always surrounded by his flunkies, without useing a shooter...?

Revdyer
January 18th, 2007, 06:46 PM
I actually thought about Minions, but they were too pricey for the budget.

I will challange the Bannister's on a 2 Vs 1 game My 1200 point orcish type army vs 2 500 point arms...(time permitting when you get there.)

I think we have things covered on this end. Thanks for asking. We have a seperate family room and living room which are open to each other but seperated by my kitchen. I'm going to set up the kids in one and we'll take over the other. That way we'll be able to keep an eye on them while we're having our fun. They'll have a TV, & some toys, etc. My oldest will be in school until about 2:30p. When I go to pick him up, I'll also pick up lunch at Lenny's. Or better yet, we'll just make the guys go do it.

I have their pics on my MySpace page.

I told my middle one, Jacob 5, that a boy his age was coming to spend the day with him. He always gets excited when he meets someone new. I'm just glade you don't have any girls. That boy is a hound dog when it comes to the ladies! What's your child's name or do you just call him "DS"? Ours are (oldest to youngest) Gavin, Jacob, and Luke. Is he the only other child coming ... anyone? I'm really looking forward to playing with a girl for a change. If you ask me there's way too much testosterone in this whole thing.

Now, as to our game: I'd like to try a King of the Hill. I've never done that and I don't know if there are any speacil rules for it out there. My husband and I thought of doing it this way: We'll put out 1, 2, or 3 artifact glyphs. You will get 1 point at the end of each round for each glyph you are standing on. After trun 6 each glyph is worth 2 points (helps the under dog come from behind). Game ends on turn 10. We will each draft from only one general. I'll use Vydar. My husband and I might try to playtest this next week. This is just an idea, feel free to change it up if you can think of something better.

It will only be Bannister senior and not junior, sorry.

But I have no problem getting my butt kicked by you solo.

I just have to much going on right now.

I hope you guys have a good time without me though.

Hey Bannister. We sure missed you. We had some great matches and a lot of fun. And I have enough junk food left to choke an unsupervised 10yo. I hope you and I can still hook up sometime. PM me if you have any ideas on when might be good.

Sorry we didn't get to meet this time, Bannister, but now I know the way to lonewolf's and I suspect I'll be there again. He says I'm allowed in his house again <grin>, even though my last grut took down his last samurai.

Trust me, I am completely bummed out about it. :(

I was at the office till about 9pm last night and the rest of the week looks about as jammed packed with excitement, so....

I have been whinning about a lack of local scapers for some months now and I have managed to miss out on 2 get togethers in less than a month.

Don't forget about me though, I am determined to make a game night sometime in the hopefully not too distant future.

Not to worry B. As long as you're still interested, I'll be willing to host. Or come over there if its Mon thru Wed. Just pop in every few days like you have been so we don't forget about you and when things settle down let me know and we'll work something out. Third try is a charm. I might be getting with a student in Oxford soon to.
