why is it rescricted?As I said in the Hang Out Forum, It is a safe place where our youth can go and the old cranky bastages cannot. There will be no spam, but at the same time you all can talk about whatever you want. There will be mentors there to handle issues/disputes, but it is essentially what you all make of it. We got the idea from that C.. TRAP thread. Anyway it is our gift to you younguns.

One of the guys that came into the Hangout asked if it was the new spam box and resented the under 17 thing. This is not the case at all. The Hangout can be whatever you guys make it. Its yours to make it what you want out of it. Are we kicking you out of the regular forums and putting you on a reservation? Heck no! You may still post wherever you like. Its just a gesture of goodwill towards our younger members. We want them to have a place all to their own where they can feel secure in their posting without a 34 year old, who takes this game way too seriously, beating them over the head because they didn't use proper punctuation.

If that was directed at me truth I would respond thusly:

I don't take this game that seriously - unless you consider ninthdoc's style of play to be serious.

I do prefer proper grammar (and I know I am not alone in this), but I don't beat anyone over the head. Sure I may give the whipper snappers a few lumps, but who among us hasn't gotten a ribbing from time to time and been a better person for it? And don't think for a minute that I save my jabs for those that are under 18. I am an equal opportunity grammar cop.

Fair enough. As I said, I'm not offended.

I would like to see attempts at coherent posts. I would like to see some attempt at proper grammar when posting. I would like to see folks using the search function since it's there. If youngsters (and oldsters as the case may be) don't like that, well that's their right. But I would caution them in getting used to sloppiness and laziness. Bad habits can be tough to get rid of when they want to excel in colleges or the job market.
