many of you will remember Streets of Rage (Bare Knuckle in Japan) for the MegaDrive (Genesis, in USA), a great side scrolling beat 'em up.
it has been recently released the final version of this excellent remake for PC, that feature lots of improvements.
it's free, so get it here:

Hmm... it seems vaguely familiar. Which is odd, because I never had a Genesis.

Yeah it's good, and a fair bit of work must have gone into it.

But, a far superior alternative is to simply download Kega Fusion and the actual Rom itself. Probably 7,000 times smaller too.

it was one of those games like all the others out at that time. Double dragon remix. It was ok, music was pretty good for the time.

another good side-scrolling beat'em up inspired by Streets of Rage is Senile Team's Beats of Rage.

http://www.senileteam.com/borinfo.php

it has good music, very nice sprites (rips from KoF series) and it's available on plenty of platforms (Windows, Linux, Palmtop, PS2, xBox, Dreamcast, GP32).
plus, it's fully customizable, so there are tons of fanmade Mods.

Dammit! Every time I try to access the link I am told the server is not available :-( Is it a big file? Is it something someone could email to me?

quite weird.
unfortunately, the file is about 70Mb, too large to be sent by email...

Unlike the Sega Genesis and Rom which can be downloaded in 2 minutes flat.
