Anyone else playing? I've just started playing this game a few days ago. I can see why it is so highly rated.

I'm playing it now. Pretty good, but nowhere near as good as the other games (Windwaker, Ocarina of Time, A Link to the Past).

Well, this is my first Zelda game. Why are the older versions better?

Well, Ocarina of Time is considered one of, if not the, greatest games of all time. A Link to the Past is considered just a hair beneath it, but I like it better. Wind Waker isn't liked as much, but I love it. The story really stands out as my favorite; one of the only games that have ever made me cry. Twilight Princess is heralded as the second coming of OoT, but I don't think so. It's story and dungeons seem like ripoffs of all the older games.

Well, I'm still in the town. I liked flying with the chickens. Fishing works well with the Wii remote, and more enjoyable than the fishing in Fable.

Well, I guess the good news is Ocarina of Time and Wind Walker are both on the Gamecube, which means I can play them on my Wii. :D

Yes and no. You'll be able to play the Wind Waker alright for the Cube, but unless you have the Majora's Mask/Ocarina of Time special disc that came with the Gamecube system Zelda bundle or the Circuit City combo Wind Waker preorder disc, you'll have to wait for it to be released in the Wii library for purchase. Ocarina in Time and Majora's Mask are both Nintendo 64 games.

Still, I like TP more than I liked OoT, personally, but they are both awesome games obviously. A Link to the Past and Link's Awakening (first GB Zelda) remain my top favourites, though.
My biggest problem with TP: the gimicky'ness of some of the later items. Of course, this happens in pretty much all Zeldas.

^ The Collector's Edition has the first two games along with OoT and MM.

That came with the Zelda Gamecube system bundle. They never sold that seperately.
The Wind Waker presell at Circuit City (may have been other stores as well) includes Ocarina of Time and Ocarina of Time Master Quest (which was previously unreleased)
I'm sure you'll be able to buy these games with Wii points soon enough though.

We are enjoying it - with the wii the fighting and fishing have been a blast. Although I've never owned another game system, I don't know that I would have enjoyed some of the features as much. Excellent game.

Really? I bought a new one from my Gamestop back when it came out. Maybe it was used and I don't remember.

Yes he is. this is from my wii so forgive my shortness. I love the game. I thought it was too short though. It is 2nd best IMO.

Yes, that's me. And if you think losing 200 posts is bad (from your sig), imagine losing 6,500 posts, which is what happened to me.

Getting back to the game, I'm at the point where you receive the lamp. I need to work on my horse riding skills - I keep bumping the horse into the sides.

I love this game! It's awesome! I just arrived in the water temple. I'm trying to take a break so I don't beat it too quickly..

The spinner is used for heart pieces and the cave of ordeals.

i am playing it on GC right now. I just got the classic green tunic for getting Faron his light back. Stupid bugs.
I hate spiders.

Yeah you're right about not using the weapons too much after temples. ***SPOILERS***
Especially the ball and chain, spinner, and even the arrows aren't used as much as OoT or WW. However I do enjoy the fact that they merged the grapple and the hookshot to make the ultimate two-handed LoZ item, the double clawshot. And almost forgot to mention the unforgetable ending fight with Ganon then Ganondorf on his horse, then Ganondorf.

And outside of that, nothing. In other games you use all sorts of items in each temple - in this one, not so much.

I completely agree with this statement. OoT is SOOO good, i had to replay it, like, 30 times. Majora's Mask is also pretty good. Especially when you have Fierce Diety's Mask. Windwaker was a bit of a rip, and Twilight Princess took me one night to beat.

Ocarina of Time and Wind Walker may have been pre-packaged with the Gamecube system, but you can buy the set by itself on ebay.

i got this disc.
most of the best zelda games, oot, mm, the nes parts.
link to the past will bekome to the classic konsol, oder you buy the gba version.
but there there an other zelda for the gba, one upcomming for the ds and three gb parts.
the + for the collectors disk is better grafik than the n64 and the master quest for oot.

Hey, i never saw this thread before, whatever. Huge Zelda fan, myself. I was playing Twilight Princess until I beat it in one night (11-12 hours). Personally, i think it was an "ok" game. But Majora's Mask(see my sig..) and Ocarina Of Time woop Twilight Princess' dirty behind hands down. I'm waiting for someone to post an official "Zelda Fan Thread", for I am to lazy to do so.
So please, someone make it.

No, PH isn't coming out until this Fall, I believe. As for Freshly-Picked Tingle's Rose-Colored Rupee Land, we can only pray is comes to America. Rumors say is will, but, well, I'm not so sure...
