one that really works for me is:

krug: 120
arrow gruts x3: 120
grimnak: 120
swog rider x2: 50
heavy gruts: 70

total: 480

or substitute the heavy gruts for 2 squads of blade gruts if you like using more units or if u don't have wave 6. but i rarely even need to resort to using grimnak and blade/hvy gruts. the blade gruts/swog riders/krug usually crush most of the opposing army.

Krug: 120
Arrow Grut x3: 120
swog riders x2: 50
blade grut: 40
nerak: 50

total: 380

another good one, based on 400 pts. army has won me many games, or substitute the blade gruts and and nerak out and replace with a swog rider and raelin for an all arrow grut army with full support of krug and 3 swogs. put raelin up early to support the whole army. This army was used to win some big tournaments i believe. i could be wrong tho, hope this helps.

My favorite 400 points is:

Arrows X 3: 120
Blades X 2: 80
Swogs X 3: 75
Grimnak: 120

Total is 395, and I've even been able to get two swogs backing up three arrows with height. Your blades swarm forward, blocking opponents and controlling the board. Grimnak hangs back, out of range, until blades have shooters tied up. Then Grimnak chomps, while the arrows with swogs grab height and bonuses to be 3/3 with range (or 4/4, if you can pull it off).

i like urs euryon, nice and simple, but effective. i have a question, have u tried the hvy gruts yet? i would like to see how that army would do if u substituted the 2 squads of blade gruts for 1 squad of heavy gruts. hvy gruts move with grimnak and are basically 4 dumutef guards. in theory u won't have to replace them as much and hopefully would have a much bigger and better unit with grimnak to destroy. sometimes it can be annoying with the blade gruts cause they can die easier and then u are forced to only attack with 2-3 of them while reinforcements hurry to catch up. i was just wondering if u've tried it before

My son has been running 2x Arrow Gruts, 2x Swog, Krug, and Mimring for a while. It's tough to beat.

Just kill the Swogs and the archers are worthless. Mimring goes down quickly too in our games

Back when Cupid's Art hosted the SWOGG tourney, I played an orc army that didn't do too bad. I didn't run into Q9 thankfully, but I had fun playing this set up

Raelin
Guilty
Nerak
Grimnak
Blade Gruts x3

Pretty fun army if you're more for the melee orcs.

Can't take credit for this one, but I'm still a huge fan of:

Arrow gruts x 3
Swog x 4
Mimring
Krug

Total 490 points.

Taking out the swogs to neuter the AG's is easier said than done. Krug is great for handling the heavy hitters. All turn markers go on the AG's - you can move ANY figure you have on the board, making for fewer missed opportunities due to turn marker placement.

Ditto - thats what I play for a 500 point army.

I like trying to bump off Arrow Gruts so they have to actually think about order marker placement. With Swogs, Mimring, and Krug in the army you only really need to place order markers on the Arrow Gruts to move any figure you control. IF they have to place order markers anywhere else, the Orc Horde loses one of its biggest advantages: flexibility.

600 point army

1- Mimring
1- Krug
5 - squads of Arrow Gruts
5 - Swogs

595 points

Note: This army takes 29 starting zone spaces - so this may be a limiting factor, but if you got the room...it should do the job.

HEy Codeman, Nice 600 pt. army - I love the all orc armies, or very close to it.
I think on most boards having raelin verses 3 more swog is going to be worth it, she will have height most of the time, but protecting mimrig and a bunch of grunts is a big bonus for the luck of the dice. Plus not giving up 5 points never hurts. My army takes up 24 spaces to start. We always just add on space when we play, if it are needed.

I notice Ornak has yet to be mentioned here. In my opinion, he is a tough guy to beat. Put order marker one on him, move Tornak and Grimnak, order marker two on Blade Gruts (Heavy or Light), move Ornak and Blade Gruts. The Gruts are attacking with plus one or two from Tornak and/or Grimnak and rolling Valkyrie dice, increasing the odds of a skull from 1/2 to 2/3, an increase of 16.66%. Third order marker goes on Arrow Gruts, move Mimring/Krug/Swogrider and hit the enemy again.

600 points for Ornak, Tornak, Grimnak, Mimring, Blade Gruts, Arrow Gruts, 2 Swog Riders. Or sub in heavy gruts for Blade Gruts and Swog Riders.

How bout this one for 600 points:

Grimnak: 120
Heavy Gruts x 2: 140
Arrow Gruts x 3: 120
Swog Riders x 4: 100
Krug: 120

This one also uses 29 starting zone spaces. I like the AG/Swog/Krug foundation, but thought some good heavy melee hitters might help in some situations.

ornak is alright, but he doesn't really fit into my bonding arrow grut and hvy/blade grut army. i'll just be moving usupported heroes up the board on the first turn. plus i don't play 600 pt games, lol.

This is not really the case. If you can afford Krug, Grimnak, Ornak, Heavy Gruts, Blade Gruts, and arrow gruts. You'll have plenty of bonding.
Turn 1, Marker on Ornak, Move Krug and Grimnak (chomp!)
Turn 2, Marker on Heavy Gruts or Blade Gruts: Move Gruts and Ornak
Turn 3, Marker on Arrow Gruts: Move Krug and Arrow Gruts.

You've got great bonding going on. I love mixing Krug and Grimnak on turn 1 and following up with Ornak and the gruts. It works very well and prevents Dund from really scaring you (as he can be a pest to Orc armies or any armies with loads of commons). Exchanging Grimnak and Krug for Tornak and Mimring works also.
This is a very effective strategy and it wouldn't work without Ornak.
