I guess some people do all their Christmas shopping on ebay, without mind to what the stuff they are buying should really cost, and so drive up the bid.

I just hope people didn't bid based on the photo (obviously a stock photo), thinking it was a 1st edition (note the dice.) If it really was a 1st edition, I could maybe see the reasoning for the bid. But otherwise...

Even if it were a 1st Ed. still not worth $60+. I picked one up on Ebay a few months ago for $27 after shipping. I think perhaps people think this is a collectable game. I've been looking for Heros of Nostralund but refuse to pay $30, $40 even $60 for it on ebay. Sooner or later Hasbro will have it in stock again.....right?

HS just isn't available in their area.....

The image used for this auction...
http://i.walmart.com/i/p/00/07/69/30/41/0007693041712_500X500.jpg
... is the image used the very first time I saw the game in a JC Penny catalog. I'd never heard of the game, and therefore knew nothing about it. But from that image alone, I thought, "Hey, that game looks pretty cool." And my next thought was, "Why is a friggin' five year-old playing it!?"
10 minutes later, I was online and Googling, "Heroscape"...
... and that auction price is ridiculous.

it's all in the presentation on ebay. more power to the person if they have the skills to sell a master set for $60. i'm sure the same exact set would go for $12 if the person took a picture with their phone, didn't put up a gallery pic, and had a 2 line description.

I have seen some expansion sets vary by as much as 20$ or more from one seller to the next.

Prices on ebay can get out of hand. Ps3's were going for $3,000 to $10,000 when they first came out. I found a used one at gamestop a day after xmas for less then $600 (60 gig one) so I picked it up glad i waited it out =P
anyway back onto heroscape, i was at my local walmart and there wasnt any EOV MS...did they stop selling them?
