Sorry if this has been talked about way back when. I searched and didn't find anything on it.
I'm only bringing this up because it was around Christmas time last year that me and the family made the two hour trek south to Indy to check out the travelling Lord Of The Rings exhibit.
While it was kind of boring for the young kids, my wife and I really loved seeing all the costumes and items used in the movie up close. The detail is incredible and I was in awe of just how detailed everything was. Stuff that might not ever really be seen on the screen were still crafted as if they would be zoomed in on.
Has anyone else had the opportunity to see this exhibit? If you haven't and have a chance, it's well worth it.
Sorry if this is old news and no one cares anymore, but this time of year just made me remember the cool experience that I am hoping other LOTR fans have also gotten to enjoy.

I think this is the same Exhibit that was debuted at the Science Museum of Boston a couple of years ago. It was awsome. They had the Arms and Armor of all the races all set up, and I got to hold a replica of Aragorn's Sword, Anduril. Sucker was big and heavy. The only bad thing was, the sheer amount of people that packed the hall. I didn't get to see everything, but it was a pretty cool exhibit. Well worth it.

I also saw the exhibit at the Boston Science Museum. I swear that wasn't a replica of Boromir's corpse in a boat. I'm sure it was Sean Bean sleeping in the display case. It looked that real.

I'm sure it's the same exhibit, as I had seen it last Christmas time in Indy. It was quite packed there as well and we had my Glenmont daughter in (who was 13) who liked it, and twin girls that were two months shy of their third birthday to carry around (as we couldn't bring the double stroller in of course).
I didn't get to hold the sword, but I saw darn near everything. I wish we could have taken pictures inside the exhibit areas. If I were by myself or with just my wife, I would have spent a lot more time just taking it all in, especially the artwork.
Anyway, I'm glad you got to check it out Uprising. :)
Edit: and you too Jim :) I agree, that was Boromir in that boat!
Edit: for K/H :D

Wow. Me and the little lady thought the same exact thing. I actually had her believing Sean Bean flew in from the UK to pose in the boat. She can be gullible at time  .
BTW, The Two Towers is on TNT right now.

It was a pain to get it into my livingroom, but it was well worth it.

I saw the exhibit when it came to Houston's museum. There was nothing really NEW about it, necessarily, since all of that stuff was discussed on the DVDs full of bonus features, but it was pretty neat to see it all close up.

I know my son and I would love to see an exhibit such as this. A booth at a local convention has 2 helmets from LotR that have him enthralled. I can't imagine what a whole room full of stuff would do to him.

Oogie, it was there at Indiana State Museum last year. That's when I saw it.
I don't know if they are still doing the travelling exhibit or not. I would hope they do it again sometime, all LOTR fans should get to check it out.

I don't know if it was the same one, but Jazz and I went to one at Casa Loma in Toronto a few years back before Fellowship came out. It was amazing. Really generated a lot of excitement for the movie. The props were amazing, and I myself really took to the detail in the Elven weaponry. If I could have bought some stuff there, I'm sure I would have.
