I'm so phsyhed about this story I have been writing and I just wanted to throw this thread up to announce is arrival soon.

Its the story of one of my custom units, Sir Clavus. Originally it was just going to be a small blurb, only about a paragraph long like most of the official bios and the other few I have written are, but as I was writing it I got all these ideas and a longer story started to take shape. Its going through my editor, aka my girlfriend, oogiezone later tonight and will hopefully be up soon. Depending on the changes she suggests I hope to have it up tommorrow.

Here is the custom unit that my still is going to be based on

PART 1 OF 10

Valhalla – A field on the northern border of Elswin and Julanguard.

It was early morning, the sun had just crowned over the horizon causing the dew on the grass to glisten in the field of northern Elswin. As the morning haze lifted, Thorgrim got his first look at the forces that had amassed across the field. What he saw would have been cause for worry for any normal man, but Thorgrim was no normal man, he was a Viking of Valhalla, a general in Jandar’s army, and one hell of a swordsman. He was joined on the field by some of Jandar's most valiant warriors, the Knights of Weston, Sir Denrick, and Finn. The three heroes had been leading a small platoon of Knights around Valhalla for many weeks meeting Utgar’s evil minions around every bend. Thorgrim and his band had been extremely victorious at holding back any advances of the evil forces.

With the haze lifted, Thorgrim could see that they were outnumbered at least four to one. On the southern end of the field, Utgar's forces had gathered during the night right where Jandar’s scout said they would. The other side of the field was littered with unruly grut orcs and their leaders Grimnak, Tornak and Nerak. They had assembled in an attempt to march into Julanguard. Thorgrim could see Grimnak was atop his ever hungry Tyrannosaurus Rex, Tornak was mounted on his Raptor, and Nerak was on the great Glacian Swog from the Thaelenk Tundra, all of which looked to be eagerly anticipating to the coming fight.

Jandar asked Thorgrim to muster his troops to this very field because he knew that Utgar would be sending Grimnak and his grut orcs to try and march into Julanguard and take control of the Forgotten Forest. It is said that deep within the forest there is a tree that produces magical sap with untold powers. Only one person has ever drank the sap from the tree and he hasn’t been seen since, so know ones what it did to him, many believe the sap drove him insane and he threw himself off a cliff, others believe he was transported to another dimension, there is even a rumor that he evaporated as soon as the sap touched his lips, but Jandar always likes to err on the side of caution and feels that Utgar should be stopped from obtaining the tree’s sap at all costs.

Anticipating the kind of opposition that had gathered, Thorgim sent for reinforcements in the form of one hundred additional Knights of Weston. He also sent a messenger to Marcus Gallus, who had been leading a group 4th Massachusetts Minutemen with near the same effectiveness as Thorgrim and his knights. Marcus was a very good leader and seemed to inspire the Minutemen so much that their guns seemed more deadly and accurate.

Looking around Thorgrim could see that the Knights were standing at the ready, waiting for the order to charge. The Knights of Weston had become some of the most feared adversaries of Utgar and his forces of evil because of their unwavering courage even in the face of extreme odds. These Knights were afraid of nothing, not even death, and that made them a very dangerous foe indeed. Every one of them had their swords drawn ready to charge across the field, they are just itching to slice up some orcs. As Thorgim looked across the field at the seemingly insurmountable odds they would soon be facing, he couldn’t help but smile, he had two cards up his sleeve that Grimnak did not know about, but would soon see played.

Interesting. I've always liked your customs; they're just dripping with flavor! Can't wait to see it.

Sir Clavus looks cool - and your announcement whets my appetite for a story about him. Here's looking forward to it.

After many revisions and editing I finally finished the first part of the story...only the first part you say?! Yeah, I have a lot of revisions and additions to do to the rest of the story but I was so pumped with how this first part turned out that I had to post it!

I am hoping to post at least one more part every day until they are all up there. Keep checking back for more parts.

Its in the first post under the card of Clavus. Enjoy.

Edit - It may seem odd that Sir Clavus isn't mentioned yet, but it will make more sense when I get some more parts finalized, I promise!!!

AMAZING!!!     I am guessing that Sir Clavus is a knight that gets chomped. That or he is one of Thorgrims cards up his sleeve.

Cool pic but I can't see Jandar having any Undead or any Relentless figures. I believe all Relentless so far are Utgar

Just because he is undead and relentless doesn't mean he is evil. :P

Why would I spoil the story to answer your speculations? :P

Great, but why is Marcus leading some of Jandar's men?

Which Valkyrie Generals are allies, which ones are enemies?
Normally the good/bad lines are drawn as follows:
Good: Jandar
Bad: Utgar
Neutral with slight leanings toward one side or the other: Ullar, Vydar, Einar. So, currently Ullar is allied with Jandar and Einar/ Vydar are with Utgar but alliances can change...

Because thats the way I wrote it. :P

I have always thought of Marcus as a good guy. Plus I wanted to write this line because I thought it was funny, "Marcus was a very good leader and seemed to inspire the Minutemen so much that their guns seemed more deadly and accurate. "

What marks a good "beginning" in a story is that it makes the reader want to read more. You've written a very good beginning here, nether. Thank you for letting us see it.

Post the next part. Its been long enough.

The second part is a bit longer and is taking me a bit longer to edit and reorganize. Plus yesterday when I was working on it I got this awesome idea that I am trying to expand on.

All in good time. :D

Resist all pressures to produce...they are the bane of creativity. Take your time. Revise as needed. Rewrite. Review. Then give us the goodies in your own good time. That is what good writers do.

Hell, it took Homer four to six hundred years to produce the final version of the Iliad. Okay...maybe not the best example <grin>.

It just so happens to be a year since the last person posted in this thread! Is the story complete, or are we going to see Sir Clavus?

Yeah, you should be somewhere between 1/6 and 1/4 done by now.
