Ok it has been on for a short while now but can anyone tell me why ECW is on Sci-Fi channel?
That seems like a bad paring. My girlfriend got much ticked off as it came on and they axed SG1. Seems like a really weak trade up to me though I am sure the acquiring of one and letting go of the other are not tied together.
ECW should be on spike or something though maybe there is a one promotion limit and they already have the far superior TNA on Spike.

Actually ...the ratings were pretty good for ECW when it first launched on sci fi.....though Im not sure if thats still the case.
The fact of the matter is, even though there are a few ECW originals in there....its not the same.....it still looks like a WWE product, which is what ECW was trying to get away from back in the 90's. Its a shame.
and yes CA...its fake, but you should have seen some of the stunts the wrestlers would do in the old ECW. It was called hardcore wrestling for a reason.

TV Wrestling is nothing more than a Soap Opera.

Am I the only one who finds wrestling and football incredibly gay? I think instead of a season they should all just get together and have a huge cluster **** and call it a year. We could put it on Bravo or something.

TV Wrestling is nothing more than a Soap Opera.
I would say that bad wrestling is more just Soap Opera but good wrestling is more like scripted violence or impact gymnastics with some Soap Opera Elements thrown in to hold it all together.
Wresting is enjoyed the same way a movie or most TV is, with a dose of suspension of disbeleife maybe a larger does then you like. In fact that majority of our entertainment requires that but it does not make any of these "fake" just makes them scripted entertainment.
Here is a little clip worth watching. The guys work hard to entertain pure and simple and for many, myself inculded, they do entertain.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=d8RS8WywN90With lame music
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=igm_RMwO7A8With Black Label Society if you want clips with more rocking music.
As far as the wrestling and football being gay. Well I guess large muscular guys hitting each other is gay to you lightfight not sure if that says more about the players and entertainers in these fields or about your own perception.
I doubt that a clusterF*&^k would fill the void that their sport or career holds for most of these athletes (though it might for about 5-10%)

I think it was a case of WWE having a new product and shipping it around to anyone who would show it. SCI-FI thinking that it has a good demographic for their shows. So they say to WWE, well we'll take it, but for it to fit you have to have some sci-fi character. WWE says, hey we've had a garbage man character - we can make it work. Hence we've had a zombie, and we have vampire/goth characters. SCI-FI is gettting some good ratings and the rest is history.
Should it go on Spike? Sure, but they have TNA so you won't see that happening as one network can't cater to two competing companies.
Oh, and I like wrestling if you can't tell.
And gosh darnit...it's real to me
PS...excellent clip riledguy

Im sure its on Sci-Fi because thats the only place Vinny Mac could find a place to show "the most extreme" show in sports entertainment.....
Half of it isnt even extreme anymore, they could put in on PBS! Even USA, but its all about the money...
But what do I know...I missed the topic where Ninthdoc aparently went postal...

The channel is SCIENCE FICTION, nost just "FICTION"... and I here I was getting sick of seeing monster movies on SCI-FI... they need a HORROR CHANNEL for that ;).
They need to just make a REALITYSHOW-POPCULTURE-STUPIDSHOW-WRESTLING-channel for all the odd ball shows.... that waY I can block it on tivo LOL..

To mirror things said above:
Professional Wrestling is Soap Opera for the Estrogen-impaired.

Sabu is very good and belongs back on TNA with real wrestling as does CM Punk. Sandman is such a boring no talent. ECW can keep him.

Wait, so I'm gay because I think that big sweaty men crawling all over each other for fun (that's fake) looks, well, gay? That makes absolutely no sense.

No, your gay if you are attracted to and physically interested in members of the same sex. Now if this was the case (and I am not saying it is) I could see how sweaty athletes might make you think of men being intimate with each other.
Generally I have always found that sweating is a pretty natural part of intense physcial activity and not something you can avoid. Also I never played a sport that was mixed gender as the teams I was on were always all male. So every team I ever played on was all guys who got sweaty (especially lacross as it was a spring into summer sport.) Though I think I was on a really weak and lazy soccer team once. No one got too sweaty as no one really ran all that much or tried too hard.
Maybe you had a more progressive school or up bringing with mixed gender sports teams where the players never played hard enough to sweat.

I admit that some of the stuff looks gay... Like in football ( nothing against football) When the hike the ball they have to littrally stuff their hands behind someones balls...
Or when people go threw phasicals... I always tyhoght they would test your blood, make you run and messer your heartbeat.... But I was worng... I was going to play for my team this year but when I heard that their was other things I decided I rathar be the guy who likes board games and doesn.t look buff and other stuff...
So natrullay some people think its gay when someone else is super close to your balls...

I wasn't saying that the athletes are gay. I was just saying that it looks gay. I really have no interest in sports anyways, so oh well.

I'm not aying sports or other atlectics is gay, I just meant that it really creeps some people when people are too close for confort.... Besides I've never played football but, those who have are immune becuase they know its not like that and such. So outsiders might take it alittle diffrent...
I liked Sci-fi the way it was, just got tired of reruns and the same old movies over and over. When they added TNA I was supprised. I use to like wrestling while I was younger, but times change....
