some map tips. As soon as I find my cord to my camera I'll post some pics of my board. Right now I only have one master set and no road yet (I'll get it at my paycheck) and I need to try and make a board that's somewhat fair for 3 people.

I made a board and took some pictures. I used all the pieces execept one of the big pieces that I coudn't really find a place for. I'll look for that cable...

Oh yeah, I bought the hero pack I was looking at, with Morsbane and everyone else. The way I chose was pretty simple actually...They didn't have the samurai and lawmen. :)

Great first stab. The challenge with this map is lack of cover. It's fairly flat, with little elevation or protection as you move across the middle. So that means ranged characters will own the board - they can light you up once you're in range, and especially as you have to either work your way around or through the river. Trees will help this board, but in the meantime think of ways to build up cover toward the center.

Yeah, The only problem with that is I put a lot of my pieces around the river. Would it work better to take those pieces off, leave the river without a boundary, and use the pieces to make some cover-type terrain?

Once I get the few trees from the road set that will help some, so as I try to make more boards I'll be sure to post my progress here.

Yeah, the river really doesn't need a boundary since the water tiles sit lower than terrain anyway. Simply stacking single hexes to the desired hieght can represent trees until you get the real ones.

Also, to make a 3 way map, a triangle is an easy shape to create from the hexes.

Hope this helps :)

BTW your map looks cool for scenarios

I reworked it using the extra tiles as trees. My rules will be that they can't be stood on since they are going to be trees. I'll use this until I get the road set.

Let me know if this made it better. I tried to take everyone's suggestions, except the triangle thing, because I don't want to completely redo my board before even using this one.

Looks good to me!

You should try Landscape (http://www.heroscapers.com/community/showthread.php?t=58//). You can save all the maps you want and recreate them later. But, definately play your map before taking it apart.

I like the "T" shaped map. I had not seen that previously.

Nice way to work your set limitations with the trees.

Thanks guys. Once I get to play on it I'll let you know how it goes. I won't be playing this evening because I'm going to see a midnight showing of the new X-Men movie, and I'm hanging out with some friends before we go see it. I'll probably play tomorrow though.

A ticket to the X-Men movie tonight = 7.25
The Heroes of Trollsford = 11.83
The look on my brothers face when he heard that Sgt. Drake Alexander could be attacked by range because of the Rod of Negation = Priceless.
