Any other Viva Pinata players out there? This Xbox 360 game is surprisingly good, and very addicting. Also, you can trade objects with other players through Xbox Live, so if you have anything to trade, let me know.

From Oblivion to Viva Pinata?? That's a complete 180. I haven't played it, but it sounds interesting.

It's a different type of game from Oblivion, but I'm finding it equally as addicting.

So many games so little time.

I'm almost finished with the main quest of oblivion.
Put the major beat down on GOW.
Am on the last level of Marvel Ultimate Alliance.

And Angel (my fiance) has been really patient with me and my monopoly of the living room tv and the 360 (I got her turned on to Oblivion and she has a wicked sneaky Dark Elf Assasin).

She also likes games like The Sims, and Rollercoaster Tycoon. So I thought I'd rent Viva Pinata for her. Last night she stayed up past midnight playing!!! She loved it!!!

I was even having a good time watching her build her garden and attracting new kinds of pinata animals.

I would sit there and tell her, "What if you did this, or that?" We had a blast.

Although kids will enjoy the game, there are alot of things to manage and will keep any adult busy and engaged.

The snakes kept eating the mice.
The Foxes kept eating the bunnies.
The birds kept eating the worms.

And all the time you are trying to keep everybody happy and breeding.

I was actually quite impressed.

IMHO, this game hinges on doing one thing very well...

You are trying to establish a healthy self sustaining ecosystem.

You can build ponds to attract frogs, but the frogs eat your insects.

Are there enough flowers to attract enough insects to feed your frogs?

Should you expand or reduce your pond space to limit or grow the number of frogs in your garden?

And we havn't even gotten to the Alligators or Elephants!!!

From my inintial encounter with the game, I think Viva Pinata will give us both hours and hours of entertainment.

very accurate review oogie...
fun for all! some could be initially turned off, as it seems a little girl-ly with the pink mice and butterflys, but when you start getting to the bears and crocs and stuff it really gets intresting
my wife was also immediatly hooked, she took over the 360 for the weekend, but it's even a fun game to backseat play!

It is good to see Cham's presence on the 'Scaper boards, isn't it?

That said, so many different games and options are out for the X360 that I'm very much on the fence about what next gen console to buy. Originally, I had been sold on the promise of the PS3, and how it is to be so much more powerful than the 360, and yadda yadda yadda. But then 'Dead Rising' came out... and then 'Gears of War'... and then I hear more and more talk about the fun that is XBL... while on the other side of the spectrum, all I hear is how the PS3 failed its launch hype!!

I'm still holding out a bit longer to see what Sony does in the upcoming year. But right now, the X360 is clearly the best system currently available.

And no, I do not like the Wii much at all.

I don't own a 360, but I've played Viva Pinata a little. I think it's one of those hyper-addictive sorts of games that you'll buy and then wish you hadn't as it slowly absorbs yor life. :-)

Plus it's got to be the most adorable video game ever. If you're trying to get your wife or girlfriend to play video games, this is the game to do it with. You feel genuinely bad when your cute little pinata characters get eaten.

The one thing the game is missing is little "Mexican Kids with Blindfolds and Sticks" enemies to battle. :-P

Very true about the wife/gf, Angel loves this game. And plays as often as she can.

On an interesting little note, any time a pinata is destroyed/eaten, it busts causing the colorful paper coverings to flutter off into the wind, and candy pops out.

You also get a hearty, "YAAAAYYYYY!" from a bunch of kids (as you would when candy spills out of a pinata at a party.

To recreate a conversation Angel and I had about the game.

(Cute bunny pinata gets ill by eating Baddie's Candy and starts groaning)
Angel: So are you gonna call the doctor?
Me: No, I got plenty of bunnies.
Angel: Well it sounds like it's in pain.
Bunny: Eeeeeh, Owwww, Uhhhhh.
Me: Ok I'll put it out of it's misery.
(Takes shovel and begins to bludgen Bunny to Death)
Bunny: Ugh, Ergh, Owwwwwwwww!!!!!!
Angel: I wish they didn't make cry when you do that.
(Pinata breaks and Bunny Dies. Candy spills out)
Kids: YAAAAAAAAAAAAYYYYYYYYYYYY!!!!!!!!
(I laugh)
(Angel laughs)
Me: Well at least the kids are happy.

I'm about to rent this one from Gamefly.

Fortunately my wife likes to watch me play Assault & Defend on Live in Rainbow 6 Vegas.

Yes, the game is very addicting! I'm currently at level 63. I've made all of the pinatas resident except for the one you can buy in the store, so I think I've make about 56 pinatas resident. I'm working on getting Master Romancer on all of them.

Just picked this one up for the wife as an xmas present. Suprisingly addictive and I have a feeling she's gonna have to kick me off of it on more than one occasion.

I've completed 44 of the 50 Achievements. If you get stuck with a particular pinata, just let me know. Who knows, maybe I'll even send you a rare pinata!

My hard disk died on me yesterday. Along with is went all of my Viva Pinata games saves. Did you know that you aren't allowed to backup game saves from this game? It actually will block you when you attempt to copy the game saves from the hard disk to memory card. This is the only Xbox 360 game I've come across that does this. So, now all of my game saves are gone down the tubes, and that totally sucks. I'm getting a new hard drive from Microsoft, but that doesn't help recover the game saves.

At least I didn't lose any of my Oblivion game save since i've had that backed up to memory card.

Cham.... Noooo!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

That so totally sucks man!!!!

Now I need get a memory card.

To lose all your saved game... especially the ones that your currently working on!!!

At least it shouldn't mess with your achievements as those are kept on Xbox live.

Also very glad to hear about your Oblivion Saves!

I've got Viva Pinata coming in the mail, and I'm looking forward to playing it.
I just got Oblivion but it's giving me a headache if I play it for more thann hour. Too much spinning around in circles, I guess.

I haven't played this is a few months. Though I did pick up VP Party Animals, which has become equally addictive.
