I want the Heroes of Trollsford, or the Lawmen and Samurai.
I can't decide which of the two I should get though.
I will get them both eventually, but I can only get one until I get paid.
Which would you recommend? I am actually thinking I would enjoy having the Lawmen, but Morsbane seems so cool.

get the samurai. they samurai are calling you. "BUY ME BUY ME!"

i hear the lawmen are good as well, but i know from experience that the samurai are well worth the 120 points.

That's tough.

I used the Sagawa last weekend - oh were they devastating. They got their bloodlust topped off and they went full steam into my opponent's rear and only remaining units. The Kravs backed them up...carnage asada

But Trollsford are cool too - Morsbane especially.

Hmmm. I say Lawmen and Samurai. Deadeye Dan and J. Murphy are fun.

I would just like the lawmen because they seem so cool. I guess Morsbane will probably have to wait, depending on what other replies from the pros say of course.

Thanks for your input though, the samurai are up one so far.

Ah, didn't see your post...I guess they're up two now. I think bloodlust is a good thing, especially to use while I'm at home, because my dad and brother aren't as good as my friends from college. Kinda unfair, and I beat them so bad one time I actually felt bad. But, I remember getting crushed in my first game, I guess it's a rite of passage.

Get the Hero Pack 1st

Sudema, Major X, and Morsbane are better than any of the Cowboys or Samurai

Ahh, Jason says get the heroes. I've only been here for a day, but I already respect pretty much everything he says...I'll give the heroes three points for his opinion.

The Samurai are really awesome, and Deadeye Dan is pretty good. I'd go with them.

i havent played any of the heroes yet, but want to very soon. i havent played the lawmen either. i got the samurai out of a trade with Vydar (thanks man!) and have used them in every game (all 2) since. last game (about 5 hours ago) my opponent forfeited before i could use them because my finn wouldnt die and syvarris killed his DW8000 w/ 1 skull.

I want Morsbane, but 10 range + instant kill is just so tempting...

Deadeye Dan can really stomp squads if played properly.

what else do you want form the heroes set? right now, i feel that you want the samurai more:

Morsbane=1 figure
Samurai+Dan+Murphy+Other dude=6 figs.

3 for hereos (unless you were kidding...)
3 for Samurai

Let me take another look at all of the pieces, and I'll come back here with some sort of an update about my situation.

Concerning the heroes:

I have not drafted X17, Parmenio, or Valguard all that much.

I had a hot streak with Sudema one game killing a fresh Venoc Warlord and Valguard, but she can go down oh so fast and 140 is such a chunk of change for 4 clear sight spaces.

I'm luke warm with Morsbane although the temptation to draft him is always there for me. I've just had no luck with the rod of negation. I did negate Q9 last game I played. That was fun.

Wow...those Samurai look pretty awesome...And I really like Dan and James...

But Valguard seemed pretty cool, X17 is a defensive giant that I remember being a chore to kill, and Sudema and Morsbane both look good.

But...those samurai.

I think I will pick up both sets, close my eyes, shuffle them, and sit one on the shelf. The one still in my hand is the winner.

I'd get the Samurai/Cowboys first. That way you get a squad and some heroes. Then when money permits, pick up the full hero pack.

Besides Samurai and Cowboys...great characters together...can anyone say Red Sun (http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0067770/)? I knew you could. :D

Cowboys and samurai. They are 'everyday figures'
Parmenio, Sudema, X17 and Valguard are 'once in a while figures'

Guilty and Dan are in about every game I play.

I gotta admire your movie references, Lilnewbie! I've not seen that movie, but it sounds 'fun'.

Speaking of Charles Bronson, I've been thinking of doing a custom unit of....THE WHITE BUFFALO!!!

You got good taste in movies!

Yeah! But I could see me drafting X17 a lot more often. I was checking his stats out again. What a whopper up close, huh?

Thanks and cool idea, HEH! I would love to see a character like that! Red Sun wasn't the best movie but I enjoy Toshiro Mifune as a samurai. He is just awesome in The Seven Samurai (http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0047478/). Of course, that whole movie is awesome.

You can never have enough samurai. My vote is for the cowboy/samurai.

I'm going with the Lawmen and Samurai. It's a bit of a tough call, but that is my final answer.

And newb, if that movie is like the other Bronson movie I've seen (part of) I'm going to have to pass, but the comment "Sushi Western" made me smirk.

Oh tough decision! i used the samurai the other day and they helped beat my brother who had charos, jotan, deathwalker9k and many other good ones, but from the hero set i like using sudema and majorx17!
The choice is yours...but make sure you make the 'right' choice!!!

I like cowboys/samurai. All three lawmen get used in each one of our games, deadeye is great for killing minions or the deathwalker 7000 if your opponent drafts it, and if you're playing teams, carrying your teammate's James Murphy is a lot of fun.

Sudema dies too fast for me, and Major always gets shot from afar.

Chalk me up as another vote for lawmen & samurai. Yes, the samurai are killing machines. But more than that, the lawmen are REALLY useful for rounding out a fixed point army - that's possibly why they're used in virtually every game, it's so easy to draft one to make your army up to the exact number of points required. Sure, other figures have relatively low costs too, but to get the best from those others you usually need to draft more of them, or a particular hero. Whereas the lawmen are very much "stand-alone" guys. And therefore the best way to spend those last points.

Heroes of Trollsford? Handy with the right squads or other heroes in support, but nobody that you can't live without, TBH.

id say thats a toss up of which one to buy the samurai are good but the heroes might be harder to find i guess its really if you want units right now or singles

Charles Bronson and Toshiro Mifune in the same movie? Too cool. I have not seen it in a while, but used to watch it on TV in the early 80's along with the Eastwood spaghetti westerns.

When I saw that Lawmen and Samurai set I knew someone at Hasbro is a movie fan.
