I'm glad you posted this, Havokscry. I read it yesterday on wizarduniverse.com and forgot to post it (got caught up in Heroes). I told my wife during Heroes that it was a shame to have lost him now because I don't think there ever would have been a show called "Heroes" without the work he did on the X-Men in the 1970s.

Two points of interest:

1) Has anyone ever noticed that Giant-Sized X-Men #1 was done by two guys most noted for their work at DC? (Len Wein and Dave Cockrum)

2) In the article, it mentions that Cockrum died in Superman pajamas and covered in a Batman blanket and will be cremated in a Green Lantern shirt. (No Marvel characters there at all.)

Just a few observations.

The one artist I'd like to meet before one of us dies is Jim Steranko.

That is interesting. I freakin' LOVE observation #2. Talk about a passion for the artform. Yeah, it's an artform.

I wanted to meet Will Eisner. I had a chance once at an Oakland convention. But I opted to go camping. Now it's too late :(
Meeting Jim Steranko would be cool too. An important figure in comics, but on an even higher position of worship for a Nick Fury fan. :D

MAn, no more of his good Classic art of heros slashing down the bad guys like Magneto. * sigh* my favorite work that he did was Wolfweriren.
