I hate soulborgs (more specifically Q9)

Not much of a battle report, but anyways.


I played a few games today at a hobby shop nearby. Our first game was a 4 way FFA with 600 points each. Mine was:

Tagawa
Kozuke
Hatamato Taro
Ninjas
Theracus
Syvarris

for exactly 600 points.


Syvarris killed a krug. Tagawas got 2 markers on them before my opponents Q9 got hungry. Q9 ended up killing all 3 Tagawas, All 3 Kozuke, All 3 ninjas, Theracus and Syvarris before taking any damage. Somehow, my super high attack units did nothing, but my 2 attack flag bearer was able to inflict 2 wounds before i forfeited.

heres the next game i played (no soulborgs this time around):



the we played again. i played 1 on 1 with PoF. my jandar army against his utgar army

Nilfheim
MacDirk Warriors x2
Alistair MacDirk
Omnicron snipers

for 555 points (my army)




2x Blade gruts
2x arrow gruts
Krug
Ornak
Grimnak
Tornak

for not sure how much. around 600.


he moves krug in. Snipers kill him in one turn.

I move nilfheim in, do 2 damage to tornak. He moves with his blade gruts/tornak (bonding) and kills nilfheim.

My macdrik warriors get up to 7 attack and eat them some blade gruts and a few arrow gruts.

They all die.

It is down to his 4 arrow gruts and Ornak (grimnak dies in there somewhere too) against my 1 life left alistair and 3 snipers. one sniper gets shot down, the other two take all but 2 archers. Alistair takes the other 2 archers. It is now my 1 life alistair vs his 4 life Ornak.

They meet in the middle. I get first strike. I deal 3 damage. It is a tied game. 1 life on 1 life. He rolls 2 skulls. I roll 1 shield. i lose.

yea he got destroyed in that game(the first i mean). that second one came down the the wire to. so glad he didnt have kelda in that army. :P i was 2-1 today if anyone cares 8)

Yeah, no thanks to you and jon who refused to take down the biggest threat in the game. And you were supposed to be my ally. See if i ever do 6/8 damage to krug for you again. Next time i'm just gonna wound him to about 3 and let him have at you. and i'll also be sure to leave charos to you too. :twisted: :P

Actually, as I recall, he hat'd one of his ninjas with a glacier. Can't remember exactly which ninja, but one of them can fit almost perfectly in one of the smaller glaciers for the ultimate cold shoulder/ice armor.

Naw, it was fun seeing K/H die a humiliating death against Q9. I can't believe the bad luck he had with the dice, and equally amusing that his best damage he dealt in the last half of the game was with Hatamoto.

Yeah, you actually had a battle going. However, my eyes kept wandering back to K/H much like the rubberneckers do on a freeway when a massively bad wreck just ocurred. I just had to keep looking, even though it got uglier by the turn...

Another reasn why i hate soulborgs (more specifically Q9):

We were playing a game today, and i told my opponents that if any of them used Q9 i would be sitting out, so they talked me into using him. So i did.

In one attack, an Airborne Elite did 3 damage to him. A few turns later, DW9K attacks him, and rolls 1 skull for the kill.

Q9 killed grimnak, and that took 2 rounds to do.



Why do soulborgs never work for me?
