I know many people here are lucky enough to own many Master sets and sets like RTTFF with road, trees and bridges. Here is an easy and inexpensive trick to build a bridge for those of you (like me) who were not able to get a hand on a RTTFF expansion pack.
How can you build a solid bridge 4, 6 or even 8 hexes long without using "Crazy Glue" :?:
Very simple.
Join series of double-hex pieces with medium or small "Binder clips".
As simple as that and it works well! :D
Try it and tell me what you think of that.
Enjoy! 8)

thanks, i still dont have all of the waves yet, so this will help me out instead of paying $20 per bridge

$20 Per bridge?!?! You are forgetting TREES! And more road and a Dum Guard.....RTTFF is AWESOME well worth the $20.
That little trick has been around for awhile. Its nice for making longer bridges, or bridges out of other terrain.

I agree with you Nether and it is ouviously a nice set to have (I read the thread about it on HSHQ) but if you don't have it... because of money constraints, because it is not available in your local stores (I live in Montreal, Canada), because Hasbro doesn't ship outside US, because you do not want to pay for exchange fee, shipping, etc.
It is simply a trick, an easy to do and inexpansive trick.
BTW, I would love to get a hand on a RTTFF at a reasonable price.
Any advice?

Another option is the idea in Bhandikar Gorge (sp?) using the black clips that you can use on a huge stack of papers. It's cheap and easy, and you can take it apart afterwards.

uh - did you notice carravaggio's map thread, where he even shows pictures of this technique, and has an awesome bridge in Landscape even, so that people can build their own using this method you suggest? ;)

1) binder clips (bridge)
2) warm grey paint with a wood stain over 1 hex and 2 hex pieces. (road)
The trees are an issue-- hobby lobby will get you some okay ones.
As a long term gamer tho, the RTFF trees completely rock. They can take an unbelievable amount of abuse.

Yes Reapersaurus. Thank you for your remark. I realised that about half an hour after editing this thread.
So, for those of you who did not understand what I was refering to when writing about Binder Clips, go and see carravaggio's map thread.

Yeah, what Aranas said. It's on the third page of the thread. I hadn't looked at that thread until you pointed it out, Reaper. Thanks. I saw it used in the map I mentioned (it's in one of the codex issues, I believe).

Another way to make a bridge is to build one out of wooden craft sticks. Someone originally posted a version back on .net and I made my own versions and posted them as well. I see if I can dig up the pictures or else take new ones.
As I was typing this all I could think of was:
"Why do witches burn?"
"Cause they're made of wood.?"
"Gooood! Now, how can we tell whether she is made of wood?"
"Build a bridge out of her!!"

Toronto has the same lack of RttFF expansions. I was able to get one in a trade with a fellow in the US when he got out of HeroScape. I've been thinking of getting one or two more off of e-bay, but with duty and shipping it is prohibitive to say the least. :(
One alternative is going to New York State near Niagara Falls and getting it there. I may be going in the next 30 days or so and if you are interested I'll pick up extra for you. Shipping via Canada post will be in the $15 (Cdn) range (I think). PM me or post here again if you are interested.

Using binder clips is wonderful idea. I made this map using clips. An S-shaped bridge on top, supported by 4 pillers.

I've seen this done and I don't ever recall the sides bending.
