I don't know if anyone has brought this up, but a long term battle that took 11-15 master sets would be awsome. You would need lots of commons because you would 10000 point armies and 6 sets of order markers. Bounus rules could be added like fatigue, which units lose 1 move space and attack and defense die. You could decide when this came into play like 20-30 turns.

This a cool idea and has probably been done before. But if you want to do so, go ahead. post pics if you do.

Pattar007, I don't have any pics because I was asking if this would be worth the time and money.

:D ... This is actually a goal of mine to do. I would LOVE to, (1st find a table or board large enough), and use every single tile to construct a massive map with multiple starting zones. It would even be better now that I have about 5 castles and could make a nice fortress with some scattered outposts and maybe even a prison, (where you can only open the door of the building from the outside),... and with the FB's in my possession now,.......... That's the type of board perfect for FB's and their General-specific armies!
:ponder:
My only concern is the availability of players being able to come over at least once a week to play. I would hope it wouldn't linger on too long and people would lose interest.
All in all I say it's a GREAT idea and I support it!

dnutt99, You don't have to have a table for heroscape. All you have too do is have a large flat surface. I have tried this before and it worked out okay.
Your concern about people being there and not being there can be fixed. All you have to do is start playing on a Friday night and play from there. Kill anyone who won't be there for the whole time first.
Your idea about the fortress would be a great idea, my idea is to have a massive battle field with mostly level ground.

Holy crap Bixby, its too big to be true. I'm guessing 7-8 catle sets and 4-5 master sets plus lava and trees. Holy crap, it just too huge!

Are you kidding me!! That's awesome.

November 7th, 2006, 08:07 PM
Thanks. We loves our weekly game! :)

Only trouble is that maps stay up for about a month and a half because it is a 3-5 hour taks to tear down and rebuild.

Do you live in the Ritz because that must have been a whole lot of money.

Bixby

All a matter of prioritizing hobbies. I love to play games, all of my games cost a bit of money but together are much less than a Motorbike, or a motorboat, or a skidoo, or a ________.

My cost per hour of heroscape is probably around $5 per hour of play when I factor all the costs and all of the play time. Pretty reasonable entertainment costs.

Ok. I guess it is Time for me to Host the next event. Won't be a tourney, cause I do not care much for tourneys.

How about we call it the B&PMHO. (Beer & Pretzel Massive HeroScape Onslaught).

All are welcome...
...Just have to get to Regina, Saskatchewan (Canada)

Too bad you live so far away from where I am. I'd never get to play at that distance.

November 10th, 2006, 07:27 PM
That is a really cool looking castle! I have almost all the figures and expansions either in my possession or on the way as well. But the one gaming group I've found around here doesn't really do Heroscape and I haven't been able to talk any of my friends into playing. :(

I'm playing a battle in my basement and It is getting pretty tough to take one castle set. Now imagine having to control that whole castle.

Just imagine, a horde of 10000 points of minions, or a horde of 10000 Marro Drones

thats 600 drones.
that would PWN!!!

or a roman column, or a valiant weston Army.

such a themed army, you would be the main hero, probobly in the back, if it dies, you lose, what do you think?

deathreavers

GromBloodboy
November 15th, 2006, 03:26 PM
600 drones would be the end of valhalla as we no it. If the zombies were the same amount there would a mass of rotton corpeses conquring anything in their way.

theats
November 15th, 2006, 05:35 PM
zombies, that'd be AWSOME.

so, whos up for hosting this summertime campain?

we would need like 8 player, any number of teams, a vast playing field, more than one castle(not castle set, castle, like 6 forts) lots of speacial rules, deployment settings(like letting you put out like 4000 now, then 6000 later.

i envision multiple mountaintop forts, surrounded by snow

colcanoes, full sized

caves( only on the edge of the map, so you could see inside)

lakes(custom boats)

wide rivers

good sized valleys for combat

a huge central plain for massive skirmishes

all the ruins of all the sets used for constuction as a ruined "city"

the one disadvantage to this would be moving central figures. you could have some sort of magnetec bases?

I've got it!

have a pully system that lifts a person over the battlefield, suspends them there, then moves them back. they could reach down and move the figure.

or, build a lot of cooresponding maps, like this:

masive map1 (walking space) masive map2 (walking space) masive map3
masive map1 (walking space) masive map2 (walking space) masive map3
masive map1 (walking space) masive map2 (walking space) masive map3
masive map1 (walking space) masive map2 (walking space) masive map3

the maps could be very long. move them as neccessary across the gaps.

GromBloodboy
November 15th, 2006, 07:59 PM
Now where are going to get space for that?

theats
November 15th, 2006, 08:02 PM
a clean garrage. have the three tables on wheels, just don't hook it up on the edges, slide em out for movement, then back for attacking.

GromBloodboy
November 16th, 2006, 08:55 PM
Second question? How long would this battle take. With so much space it must take at least a year to get everyone there. The pieces would get cold and break during the winter. Now if you live in Florida, its a differant story.

theats
November 17th, 2006, 06:52 AM
NC, mild climate, and i was purely brainstorming. could take weeks. a summertime thing. but i was just brain storming.

GromBloodboy

I live in Florida, but we'd be more prone to melting. I'd love to get some huge summer game going. Maybe, just maybe...

Also, is it just me, or does GromBloodboy's sig sound like he's saying Raven's chant backward? :P

http://www.heroscapers.com/oldgallery/albums/userpics/10024/Valhalla.jpg

thats an outdated image, the new one has the "tidal wave" taken out, and the "whirlpool" filled, gbob island is in red. can someone please make a picture?

how about using that as your map?

Mikestir
December 19th, 2006, 12:38 PM
wow... I wonder if people would like playing with their own custom figrue.... Like a general, and when he dies something happens...
