So for a quite a while, I've been half-working on a a simple card game game called Knights.

What you'll need:
2 players...
Time...
A deck of standard playing Cards with the jokers...

Like I said, it's simple. There aren't too many rules or difficult concepts. Heck, even a 10 year old got the point of the game;)

Rules:

Set-Up

Deal 7 cards to each player. Place any jokers back into the deck.

Decide who goes first.


Turn By Turn

On a player's turn, they MUST play a card. If they have a joker in their hand, they MUST play it.

A player may play 2 of a kind, 3 of a kind, or a 4 of a kind assuming they have the appropriate cards.

Do all of the appropriate effects. See Effects for more details.

Draw a card for every card you've played. If you played a 4 of a kind, you may draw up to 5 extra cards!


Effects

Numerical cards have rankings at face value(i.e. 2=2 3=3...). All face Cards are worth 11. Aces are worth 13.

Spades(the Sword): Target a card in your opponent's hand and destroy it. Beware, Shields can hinder you...

Clubs(The Shield): On your turn: Place it in front of you. On your opponent's turn: When a blockable card is played(either Swords or in the Ace's case Magic), you may play it immediately face up in front of you. It takes damage equal to the value of the attacking entity. When attacked: Deal damage to the Shield according to the attacking entity's rank. A Shield's Health is determined by it's rank. Notes: You may only have 3 active shields in play. Any Shields after those are immediately discarded once their effects have been used.

Diamonds(The Magic): Target a card in your opponent's hand and look at it. If it is a Diamond, put it back in your opponent's hand. Otherwise, destroy it.

Hearts(The Potion): Draw a card immediately.

Jokers(The Curse): When drawn immediately show it to your opponent and if possible set it off to the side. It cannot be destroyed by a Sword or by Magic. When played, shuffle it and the Discard Pile back into the deck. If it was your last card, you immediately lose.


Aces

Ace of Spades(The Magic Sword): Goes right through shields, so even 3 shields cannot stop it.

Ace of Clubs(The Magic Shield): Unlike other Shields, it can block Magic! If an undamaged Ace of Clubs is used to block the Ace of Diamonds, BOTH attacks are absorbed.

Ace of Diamonds(Double-Fire): This one can target two cards instead of one.

Ace of Hearts(The Super Potion): Draw 2 cards immediately.


Losing

You lose when you run out of cards. That's all!
