View Full Version : Public Access Voting Poll
1Mmirg
October 1st, 2011, 10:57 AM
It's time to bring in some outside talent and season the C3V with added brilliance.
The following individuals have been nominated for the Public Access Program. Whichever individual receives the most votes will be admitted into the Sanctum for a period of 2 months to assist in an aspect of the process of their choice. (More details here (http://www.heroscapers.com/community/showthread.php?t=33420).)

This poll is open to general HSers, not just C3V, correct?
[Closing is 48 hours after 1Mmirg's post.]

Yes, this vote is open to all Scapers. And I believe it is set for 72 hours (i.e. Oct 4, 11am, is the end)--that was my intention.
Thank you for clarifying, UtahScott. This is our first run at this and we're all getting used to the process.
Also, note, that there will be another poll next month as well. We hope to add one Guest Member each month (each staying in for 2 months). But, of course, it will be particularly cool to be the first. ;)

It's really a tough call. The entiire list is full of great candidates. I'll be happy to see everyone eventually get a turn.

Tough choice- I think that of them, Filthy is great at customs. That said, I'd like to see Ollie be able to share some of his thoughts on balance and how to alter it...

I think Clan will also be great at coming up with some nice, non-DnD ideas. :p

My vote goes for clancampbell. If there's one guy on this site who has constantly and consistently shown that he's not afraid to speak his mind, it's clan. Just don't ask him to design the next drow army card!
EDIT: Also, props to y'all C3V folks for coming up with this idea. It's pretty cool to see more of the community get involved in as big a project as this is.

I just have to say that if this list is the people who are on the outside, running for a temporary guest slot.... well, Heroscape is in pretty good shape, regardless of what the headlines say. I look forward to playing C3V alongside Classicscape for a long time to come.
You guys rock!

Hello everybody!!
I'm DanieLoche, from Heroscape's French community.
DaLu is a very serious and great fan of Heroscape, I've never seen a men doing so good answers to the community. His engagement is so important to Heroscape, I can just say "BRAVO"!
It will be a very good and interesting thing having a french Scaper in the C3V project. Here, We follow this project as near as possible, the Wave 14 is awesome, good luck!

What, even at that lowdown dirty scuzzbucket ClanCampbell? I hear that he looks at your order markers when you're not paying attention and is mean to small animals. Surely the public have a right to know?
And, don't quote me on this, but there are rumours that Dalu is European.

Ollie, I can confirm those rumours: Dalu is European
I am not well known here, I barely have 200 posts, but on the French site I have ten times more.
I have worked hard to bring french (and belgian) scapers all the great things from this site.
It really matters for me that we have the same official base, the same answers to questions about the rules,...
Let me introduce myself a little more...
I could not bring myself to accept the end of Heroscape, and expected much from the C3V project to continue the game.
I decided to help and, April 7th 2011 at 09:33 AM, I clicked on C3V Public Playtesting Sign-up (http://www.heroscapers.com/community/showthread.php?t=33397).
I have spent much time to seriously test and carefully fill comprehensive feedback forms for Van Nessing, Omegacron, Zogross, the Thrall, the Skeletons of Annellintia (see next wave), Kira and the Blade Dancers.
That was difficult because English is not my first language, as I presume you can see despite my efforts.
In June, I introduced C3V to the french scapers (http://forum.heroscape.free.fr/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=3641).
In July, I set up a small tourney (rules (http://forum.heroscape.free.fr/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=3629), results (http://forum.heroscape.free.fr/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=3675), reportage (http://forum.heroscape.free.fr/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=3671)) with C3V figures for prizes (sorry, no good pictures), and other C3V figures to sell (http://forum.heroscape.free.fr/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=3642) at very cheap prizes (bulk purchase = low cost).
After the tourney, a dozen of french scapers had C3V figures, almost 2 months before the cards were released.
On this site, I have done the Book of Van Nessing (http://www.heroscapers.com/community/showthread.php?t=37677) and the Book of Kira Jax (http://www.heroscapers.com/community/showthread.php?t=37761).
On the french site, I have done all 12 C3V books (http://forum.heroscape.free.fr/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=3783&start=5), and the Book of the Zombie Hulk (SoV) (http://forum.heroscape.free.fr/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=3789), Arcanespirit has made the french cards with my translations.
I am very honored to be a nominee, but I thought having not any chance to win the poll.
I warned the french scapers, and several of them decided to come here vote for me.
I don't think it's cheating: they know what is C3V and what I have done for it.
To conclude:
I think I am good to analyze, to think things through and point out unexpected difficulties.
I like to keep it simple and really like figures with a self-sufficient card, I mean when no "Rulings and Clarifications" are needed (I hope my Orogoth custom (http://www.heroscapers.com/community/showthread.php?t=35678) is a good example).
I am convinced there are still many new flavors to discover by mixing old powers.
If I win, I would like to help bring back some classic figures on the table, and will carefully avoid power creep.
Thanks (particularly if you have read all this).

Great post Dalu. I particularly wanted to comment on this bit:

I don't think it's cheating: they know what is C3V and what I have done for it.
I don't think it's cheating either, not by any stretch of the imagination. If there are a large number of Heroscapers who know what C3V is about, know what you are about, and think you'd be good at the job, then they should be voting for you.
Also, I don't know if you know my dirty secret, which was half of the joke in my post: I'm European too. Phew---it's good to get that off my chest. ;)

As does Dalu, far better than all you knuckle-dragging upstart oafs from across the pond who inhabit these boards saying "dude" all the time and high-fiving each other ("the electorate" as I like to think of you when I'm posting on this thread---where's the cheesy politician smiley?).
But yes, I'm from England, Birmingham to be more precise. I've had many enjoyable holidays in France, including one where my girlfriend (now wife) and I pottered around in our orange Deux Chevaux---a car now sadly scrapped, but she gave us a good decade or so of pleasure (and because I'm now talking to people who understand the finer points in life, I can tell you that she was really a Dyane.) Unfortunately, I haven't spent any time in Belgium, unless you count driving through without stopping on a coach.

It depends. When looking down on Americans, being European is a sufficiently high perch. Higher standards prevail within Europe, where being British can be called on to dismiss the various continental rabbles.
Does anyone else need insulting? (I'm ignoring the Australians as being too far beneath everyone to be worth bothering with, obviously.)

No matter from which country DaLu is.
He really did a great work to promote C3V customs among our community. He participates giving the "Heroscapers C3V project" a real worldwide interest.
He can also rely on many fans from our french forum to help him working for the C3V (when possible and needed, because I know that W15 is secret till not unveiled)
No doubt he will be efficient again.

Yup, they are on the short list now. As Robb says, the best way to stay on the list is to stay involved, playtesting, etc.
And there are some others that I can already think of that aren't on this list that I could see adding, esp. if they got just a bit more involved.

Ollie, do your people have Euros?
I believe we have a few at the family's country manor. Of course there is the Frenchman Anatole, the greatest chef in all of England. Also my uncle, the Earl of Chipping Sudbury, has a Dutch gentleman's personal gentleman. Then there are gardeners, cleaners, that sort of thing. One can't be too certain of their origins as one tries not to mix with those "below stairs" as it might shatter one's lazy stereotypes.

Actually, Editors are the people who have to get all picky about the wording and make sure there aren't any unforeseen interactions, weird loops, or any other power which might mess it up or make it overpowerd. And, based on your playtesting, you are awesome at that sort of thing, native language be damned. Not that I want to discourage you from Design, of course. Just to clarify what us Editors do. ;)
