Here's a little experiment I want to try:

Everyone here will probably have heard about the six degrees of separation, to some degree or another (no pun intended). Are you or anyone know of (on a personal point) an agent or editor in the publishing world?

I'm sure there are many people out there who are aspiring authors (myself being one of them, on the edge of sending my book out for publication), so this might be a way to become familiar with someone in the publishing realm, which will ultimately raise the chances of someone getting an agent or publisher.

So, leave your name (if you'd like), who you know, and how you know them. Let's see how this experiment will end...:)

Yes. I know several editors of math journals. I've written articles for them and refereed some too.

I suspect this is not what you are hoping for.

But I do like the idea of having a agent for math papers. If I had one, do you think people would commission me to think about math problems?

Editors and the companies they represent might; agents just represent. Just network, get your name and what you do out into the public eye. You'd be surprised at what you'd find....

I also recommend filing with the copyright office, too, just in case. That way, your work is entirely your own.

I think it's cool you write for math journals. Now I know who I can go to if I need help in Calculus AB! ;)

Thanks for sharing!
