Mainly I wanted to experiment with the castle pillars as supports for the bridges, creating a viaduct effect. I think it worked pretty well.
Thanks for the nice reactions, Newb, GB. It'd never make it as a tournament map, though <grin>.

2 wind glyphs?!? Most heinous, Rev. I'd love to play on it :)

Yes, if you get to the top of the viaduct you can really protect your castle from the fliers...until you die, that is <grin>.

Guess who will play on this map next week :D ! When Rev sent me this map, my first thought was: "What an awsome map! But the battle will be the most challenging one I have played so far!" Although I have only played 5 games so far  , so my experience does not really count, but I think most of people would have the same thought as mine. The terrain is complex, so you have many strategies to attack and defense. I am not sure if Revdyer will keep the glyphs on the road as they are in the picture or not. But in any case, I think the battle will be very interesting.
Do you guys think whether there is a way to play this map with 3 armies?

Central Ark? I'll have to make it down to one of your game days one weekend. Some beautiful riding roads down there in your state! Always worth a weekend trip.
Threw a Halloween party this weekend - hence the late response! I'll be watching for future road trip opportunities ;)

Kahrma, we would love you to come. I am speaking for Rev right now, but I am sure he would love to play with you as well. Well, we can make a tiny Arkansas-Kansas tournament :D !

Okay, so LongHeroscaper and I played on this map. He had a 500 point army of Agent Carr, Krug, Me-Burq-Sa, Krav Magas, and Deathreavers. I had three squads of 4th Mass and three of knights along with Concan.
We decided to remove the glyphs on the bridge (no fly and +8 init.).
The castles were the starting zone.
The game went really well, with battles on the lower level and on the bridges at the same time. It was very good and then we had a great meal together with my wife. Here's one shot of the early game:http://i63.photobucket.com/albums/h160/Revdyer/Longgame_0180-1.jpg

OK, what Rev didn't say was that he dominated the game. His army was all over the map. I made some very bad moves (e.g. summoning Me-Burq-Sa instead of waiting to do it for Krug, but even if I had done so, I would have lost, still), and the game was basically over. This was the first time I had my own army though, so I wanted to play them.
The map is really good. I like it a lot. As I said before, it allows multiple stategies one can apply during the game. I hope I can play on this map again, with different army.
Last thing, Rev helped me to buy the Flag Bearers from TRU, Little Rock. They were the last sets on the shelf. I am pretty happy :) !!

Sounds like a great game and the map looks very cool. I'm glad to see that the action took place on the lower levels also. Did anyone head to the glacier areas during the game? Sometimes those outskirt areas get ignored.

This just looks like an epic game. That map could handle some larger point forces. Hope you guys play again at like 700 points and give us even more eye candy.

Yeah, let us know how long the larger army games take as well.

In fact, both sides went for and reached the Revive glyph. Neither used the Kelda healing one.
I hope to have a game on this map tomorrow. We might try a larger army go at it. I'll report here, I guess.
