Anyways, the TRU near me has them. I would tell you where exactly the TRU is but, if you don't live here, it's not going to help you much and if you do live here, you know where the TRU is. :)

I called earlier in the day and the clerk said they didn't have them, but would be getting a truck tonight so I should call back tomorrow. Had to go by anyway to pick up some other stuff, so I figured I would look around.

Everything but the flagbearers in the game aisle, but found a big display in the middle of main aisle filled with MS, castle, 6 or so full sets of wave 1 and about 5 sets of flagbearers; I talking huge display. Probably set up for the by a MS or Castle and get a flagbearer free sale that some have been mentioning.

So they are in Texas.

Please consider that the non sightings can tip off others not to bother checking the same locations. The non sighting in Northgate (North Seattle) has relevancy to me.

If someone wants to holler that they've got something...go right ahead. This is a gamer's fansite, not the Library of Congress.

Frankly, the TRU exclusive pricing and the quantity of what you get makes this the least exciting Heroscape issue of all-time.

The dice are lighter than the regular dice....less dense. They are a little bigger than the old dice, but they weigh less. Does that make sense?

Made it to TRU after work today. As has already been posted, the FBs were there (Webster, TX), but NOT in the game section. Everyone search the store! There was an aisle display in the back of my store - a full square of nothing but Heroscape - Master sets, castles, Raknar, Thaelenk, Waves 1 & 5, and lots and lots of flagbearers.

I got Jandar and Ullar for now. Best to buy these in stages as I can afford them.

When I checked out, the clerk said, "Wow. We've been selling these like CRAZY today. I wonder what's up?" I told her that they had just come out. "Oh. Guess that's why, then." :roll:

I picked up the five and hauled them to the front and was somewhat surprised when the clerk told me the total was $70.00. When I had them open, sitting in front of me, I was underwhelmed by the various bits and pieces - it seems like that blank die face on the basic dice set would just as easily have suffised for the Flag-Bearers' special abilities without having to have spent so much for five figures. I don't mind spending money, but I can see these figures being too spendy for folks who watch their budgets. How can that possibly be good for the folks who really like this game but can't afford to keep up with the cost?

I don't know if I'm going to continue buying this game past the next few expansions - it just seems so, more-of-the-samish. I've got this stack of boxes and it occurs to me that the stack will only infest space for other games which are more concise.

The wench at the service desk flat-out lied over the phone and told me thay didn't have any, even though I had already told her I checked the computer from an earlier store. When I got there and found all of them, I made sure to report her ***** attitude to the first manager I could find. Their corporate reps are checking out the region's stores, so I'm sure she'll have hell to pay. On the other hand, Matteson and Orland couldn't have been more helpful.

I had an issue with a girl yesterday, she didn't seem to know how to search for anything and once she looked up Heroscape told me yes, we have the Masterset and that is all that shows on the computer. I asked how that could be when they had tons of expansions as well as castles, large expansions and lava. After further checking she pulled up the other items but never seemed to pay attention when I said flagbearers or Crest of teh Valkarie.

I went today with SKN #s and the manager??? said they were listed as unavailable and to check in a week or two. I might have better luck when I go to the Dallas area in a couple weeks.

Note that it seems the "free flag bearer with tower or master set purchase" only works for a single flag bearer... or at least it does when your order of operations is "add flag bearers to cart, then add towers to cart." If I know anything about the state of most web application programmers, your results will probably vary.

I saw the front page yesterday and thought, 'oh man, I missed 'em by one day, they're all gonna be gone.'
I managed to convince my girlfriend to let me go to Toy's R Us, with her credit card, she knows how much I'm an addict (and how much I love her).
And sure enough, at the TRU on East Beltline in Grand Rapids, Michigan, sat eighteen little boxes.
I grabbed three full sets of one each, and left a Jandar and two Utgar Flag Bearer's on the shelf.
I'm holding one set until my friend coffs the seventy bucks and the other I might sell on ebay if people are still needin 'em.
I gotta believe it's the same with all the TRU's out there. They got one box, containing four complete sets (twenty little boxes) and it's just up to each store to determine if there's shelf space, if they think they'll sell, etc.
Calling doesn't do much good, you have to actually go to the TRU's, and find an employee that's really helpful (something rare).
And... you have to hope that you didn't get beat by someone like me, who grabbed all there was on the shelf the day or two after they appeared.
One side note, I'm not a bad guy and I'm not looking for profit. I would like to sell my extra set to somebody who is a real fan. Only problem is you've got to come up with seventy-some dollars (the price I paid and shipping).
I would also like to trade for a Nerak or Sir Hawthorne if the guy holding all those extra's is reading.

I just picked up a set here in phoenix @75th&Bell. There was some left on the shelf, not sure if it was all 5 different ones, but ~7-8 boxes were left on the shelf.

The shelf was already tagged for the castle/ms b1 get 12.99 booster free deal. So I picked up a castle. They had ~4-5 castles left on shelf too.

Woot just picked up Vydar's and Ullar's at my local TRU in Jackson MS. They have all 5 with an extra utgar and Jandar (didnt have enough for all five... 12.99 a peice plus tax) They look just as awesome in person as they do in the pics... :D

All at list price, but at least they're there. Flag Bearers are in the front, left-hand side of the kiosk.

Those b******s. I was in there atleast 4 times this week. I always went to the Boardgame Isle and have asked numerous employess about the Flagbearers. I was actually there yesterday at around 1:00pm and I asked the girl behind the counter about them. She was actually VERY helpful but told me they don't have them and never will. Utah (Salt Lake) update...

These things are SHORT. The boxes are so small, they approach "cute". Yes, cute little HeroScape boxes. They are only tall enough to house an army card, and if you stack them two high, they come up level with a blisterpack booster, up to the top of the cardboard back.

Dunno how many are at the Sugarhouse store.

After I picked up my five at the Murray store, Friday afternoon, only the third Utgar and Jandar were left. These were NOT on a separate display, they were all with the main Heroscape game section. They had a dedicated shelf spot with a sticker, saying, "buy x or y, get 1 flagbearer FREE!" or some such. I am assuming they only put out one box of twelve, I didn't ask how many they had. I don't remember seeing many castles there.

I looked around the rest of the store rather thoroughly, but didn't see an extra HeroScape display (not that there wasn't one, I just didn't see it).

I went to the West Jordan (?) store Thursday night. The guy I talked to on the phone said they had twelve. Perhaps he misunderstood, as there were twelve *expansions* total (six castles, a 4.5 trio, and three VW), but no set of twelve flagbearers. He said they were there before, but didn't know where they had gone. Perhaps this store, too, had a separate section for the toy sale, but I didn't look over the whole store to make sure. There was no section in the boardgame area for flagbearers.

i called my local tru twice on thursday (work kept me from posting this until now). anyways, the first time i called they looked and could only find orm's return, the second time i called they told me that the only heroscape thing that had tru exclusive on it was Ut.. something's flagbearer.

i almost wrecked on the interstate when i heard that!!

once i confirmed that it was the flagbearers they agreed to hold on to a set for me. I pick them up right before close.

I cleared out the last ten Flag Bearers (2 of each) the TRU in Matteson Illinois had.

Funny thing is I was told they were sold out Friday evening, but went Saturday anyways on my way home just to check. Low and behold there were twos ests of each! Now, either they restocked those Flag Bearers extremely fast or the woman who told me they were sold out was a complete and utter liar. Goes to show you really can't trust those worthless employees.

I plan on hitting the TRU in Orland Park to see if I can snag up one more set of Flag Bearers to get the 3 of each I want. I was told over the phone Orland Park's TRU was sold out too.. we will have to see. :evil:

In the same TRU that Tom was talking about, we did have a kiosk as he posted. It didn't have any Wave 4, but had atleast 6 full sets of Wave 1 and a mixed assortment of FBs.

got mine today at the TRU in St Charles, IL. i took one full set, leaving the other full set of 5 FBs plus the extra Utgar and Jandar FBs.

i first went there yesterday but didn't see them on the shelf. the sale tag was on the shelf about getting one FB free with each master or castle set purchase. so i asked an employee to look up FBs in the system.

the system said they were on the shelf. so an employee looked around some more and also searched behind a few of the "marquee shelves" (the ones on top with the marquees covering them) that were near the HS items. he made a great effort but nope, no FBs. so they put me on the "call list".

went back today. still not on the shelf. so i looked behind every single marqee in the whole board game section. and sure enough, on the opposite side from the shelved HS items, there they were still in the Hasbro case.

so to make a long story short...if you don't see 'em on the shelf, CHECK BEHIND EVERY SINGLE MARQUEE. this has been a public service announcement. :)

I had to ask them to check the stock room at the Pleasant Hill TRU and they DID have them! You may want to inquire similarly locally. I also saw 11/22 as the cut off date on the ad sign.

I checked at the local TRU today, and found none. An associate at the customer service desk looked them up for me, and said they showed over 800 at the warehouse, but none in the store at the moment. She also said that trucks come 3 days a week, so they could arrive at any time.

Well, I originally wasn't planning to buy these but I found myself wandering into the Toys R Us in Bel Air, MD tonight on the way home from a horrendous meeting. Update the first:

I arrive at the realm of TRU last night just after dusk. I head directly to the HeroScape Barony. Looking around I fail to see any of that which I seek among the myriad distractions of Hippo games and Jenga. Thinking, "Well, they could have been pilfered by other questants, but there should be some at the Town of Customer Service there for me." I head to that quaint village to ask for the FBs are that were hidden away for me. The young lady looks around and brings out one item saying, "Here it is." I instantly pipe in that there should be five artifacts awaiting when I notice the box and say in my irate, but I'm probably not going to kill you now, displeased lord and master voice, "That's the Vulcarren Wasteland, which is not that which I seek."

After a couple more moments of looking around the village (I of course knowing that it will be fruitless at this point) they say there is not anything else there. I state that I have the magic numbers and could they check the kingdom's inventory. They say yes and I am hopeful. They look into the majic mirror and state that they have 25 in stock (don't quite know how 2 chests of 12 equals 25, but I will leave that mystery to TRU). I then tell them that I could not find any on the floor and ask if they could look in the Realm of Storage.

The cheerful young lady goes to look for my hidden treasure only to return a few minutes later empty handed. We both look briefly at the HeroScape Barony as I make a (probably vain) attempt to describe the magical items and their probable Hasbro treasure chests. She then sets off again on another neverending quest to find my gir. . . FBs. Only to return barren and void of FBs.

She tells me that she found a box that said "Towers" and asks if that is it. "Progress", I think to myself. I explain that that is not what I am looking for but is close to that which I seek, and that the FBs should be near by. I then say the chest probably says "Flag Bearers" or "Crest of the Valkyrie". Again she sets off to delve deep into the heart of the dungeon dimensions that is the TRU stockroom in the Realm of Storage.

As she fight past Playskool toysets, battling MegaBloks and Legos vying for dominance, through the murking realms of Barbie and GI Joe I am confident in her ability to prevail. Battle weary and dejected she returns to tell me of her third failure to procure the treasure for her lord.

She is apologetic in her failure, and I spare her my wrath. She offers to look for the items, hold them and call me when she finds them. I, being a benevolent master, provide her with the information she needs to fulfill her mission.

I expect a call from the Lady Monique any day now expressing her joy at accomplishing her task and securing the artifacts for my treasury.

On Sunday, TRU in Everett said they were getting some in on the next truck delivery, which was last night. I called today and they do not have any in inventory, so I guess that shipment might not have come through. Either that or the person who helped me on the phone was confused by something. If anyone happens to stop by the Everett TRU let me know if you see any flag bearers there.

To update, TRU Everett only had 10 of them in today and my friends and I are scooping them up as I type. I'm getting Jandar and Utgar. They must have been in some kind of transitional state when I called in before. They'll probably get another shipment in though since they sold out so quickly.

Flag bearers finally appeared in Woburn, although it wasn't immediately apparent; there was one Einar on the shelf, and that was all I could find until, on my way to the exit, I noted a small stack by the registers. I already had the Einar and Utgar, so I grabbed a Jandar and the last Vydar and Ullar. That leaves an Einar, two Utgars, and two Jandars.

By the way, the Ullar symbol on that FB's flag looks completely mis-aligned. Anyone else notice this?

I graciously received all 5 flagbearers from ZODGILLA! in the mail yesterday through a trade, and am very impressed with all of them. My boys and I opened them tonight and we all were quite pleased with the contents. (although I still feel they are not worth $13 a piece) I am very happy to have them as part of my collection.

No I haven't made a battle report yet. We played a 2200 point game with a good versus evil theme. I had the good(Sir Gilbert, Acolarh, Hatamoto Taro) and my friend the evil(Ornak, Laglor). This is what I think about them.

Sir Gilbert:
I used him and the knights to destroy my friends first wave before it was able to reach my castle. I liked him a lot he was very useful. Unfortunatly range was his downfall.

Acolarh:
I kept him at the top of a castle tower just in range of my Aubrian Archers. I kept the Aubrians alive long enough to do some major damage(I saved them at least six times before the were destroyed). I didn't get the chance to use Ullar's Amulet though.

Hatamoto Taro:
I used him and the samarai to try and destroy some of the more powerful figures on my friends army. They did little damage though(mostly because of Braxas). Overall he did beter than I thought he would.

Ornak:
He didn't see much action, I killed him off before he did much. I'm not going to judge him untill he's used to his best potential.

Laglor:
He was a constant pest both with his range enhancement and Autoload, which he managed to get 5, 4, and 3 times in a row :evil: . He was better than I thought also.

Overall I think they are all worth it.

Right, Codeman! I had the same disappointment here in Tulsa at the Eastland TRUs. Went to the game shelves and nope, no FBs. So, I thought I would run the "racetrack"--sure enough, right in front of the videos was a large HS display. Dozens of FBs on a couple of the sides and one whole side of Utgar's Rage! Lots and lots of Orcs, Romans, etc. Unfortunately, I got to walk out of there empty handed (no $$$$ :oops: :( ) but it sure is nice to know it's there if I ever have the $$$$$$. :)

Having not heard from the Lady Monique concerning my treasure I ventured forth back into the Kingdom of TRU. I traversed the many perils of Elmo, Star Wars, and Yu-Gi-Oh to find my way back to the Barony of Heroscape. There upon the tiers I sighted my treasures.

Forgeting all about the promises made by the Lady Monique I decided to vacate the Realm with five off the prizes along with two towers and a 1st ed MS.

I left the Kingdom satisfied, but irritated that the Lady Monique never fullfilled her promise of finding my treasure and sending me a message. Sadly, I was not surprised by this fact either.

Don't know if it's been mentioned (I only skimmed the past couple of pages), but there was a large HS promotional cube in the middle of the TRU aisleway.

It was about 4 ft cubed. And had multiple compartments that housed plenty of Flag Bears, Castle Sets, and Master Sets. Obviously, it was made for the promotion.

It just startled me, when I went to the TRU in Industry, CA. I went looking for the FB in the boardgames sections (as usual) and found only 2 FB and NO castles!!!

So I was a bit bummed and started heading out, but first I thought I'd check out the action figure section to see what new stuff was out and BAM!!! Right in front of the section, and basically in a spot that you had to pass to go to check out, was this big promo cube. I'm thinking it was 3 sets of FB, and more than enough castles and MS.

I grabbed two castles and all the FBs!!!

I just thought it was good that Hasbro and TRU made these cubes and put them in such a visable place. It really brings the game out from being hidden in the boardgames section (even with the bubble display).

I hope the increased visibility attracts more HS purchases.

TRU finally restocked the Flag Bearers here in Dover. However, they still are missing Vydar, darn it!! The thing that gets me is that there were at least 3 complete sets there taking the double Jandar/Utgar into consideration. What's with that?? No think they are running the current price thru December, as a special benefit to all their loyal HS TRU customers. I would speculate they will keep this special price thru December and then after Christmas they will change the price to $9.99. In order to get these FB at this special limited time price make sure you buy your FB before Christmas otherwise you may have to pay less next year.

There are Flag Bearers sighted in Allentown, Pennslyvania in conjunction with a sale. When you buy a Castle Set you get a free Flag Bearer, they have three or four of every general, except for Ullar (which I bought, along with Sir Gilbert)

I have Laglor, and the Einar FB, and assumed the rest would be easy to acquire at a later date because there were plenty of the others last weekend. :?
