It was PHENOMONAL!!! I went w/o my girlfriend because she was out of town and now she's back and I have an excuse to see it again!! I think it's one of those movies like Lucky Number Slevin or Running Scared where you almost have to watch it twice to catch everything. I love how well they incorporated forshadowing. I love it when movies forshadow and this movie did it almost perfectly...

Yes, it was beautifully executed. i hope to see it again. Few movies like this come along every year, and they usually fail.

I'd put a spoiler warning in the title, if I were you. Much like The Sixth Sense, if the ending is revealed, the impact of the movie will be greatly diminished. I did see it and enjoyed it quite a bit.

I was taken in by the trailer. Looks very cool.
Let's see, with Flyboys, that makes TWO movies I now want to see in theaters.

Amazing.
Thanks for the recommendation and non-spoilers.

So what is more important in life, carreer or familiy? Is sacrificing everything for a passion right?

So was batman a twin or his clone. Clone doesn't make sense because he did the transported man before he met tesla...

Great way to hide a spoiler! I love it, but makes for quoting and writing a response so difficult.

But then what did Tesla make for him? But yeah, tesla seemed surprised at the result of the machine. how icky that they shared the wife!

Lots of spoilers:
Bale's Character was always a twin, from the very beginning. Tesla was an inspiration or something else altogether and had nothing to do with Bale's twin because in the beiginning Bale mentions that he has the greatest trick (the transported man) but could only done by himself (and Fallon). Bale and his twin did not share the wife or the mistress as was evident by the whole "you don't mean it today" comments. When one was on "duty" with the wrong significant other, I'm sure he left her alone- hence the resentment. The real questions I find are which Jackman is the prestige? the one that stepped into the transporter or the clone by product? He himself doesn't know and will never know as is evident when he talks about his sacrifices for his "new" transported man trick. I love the irony of Jackman dying again and again in the same way as his wife. Also Bale dying the same way his twins wife died. Its obvious which twin was hung in the line "I never meant to hurt Sarah." The only unresolved question for me is whether Jackman is still out (ie, he cloned himself one last time- my preferred reasoning) or if the shot at the end was to show the endless sacrifices he made for the trick. I'll have to watch it again to convince myself one way or another. Lastly, the foreshadowing of the brother's death in the form of the bird trick was brilliant especially with the boy crying about the loss of the other bird's "brother." Wonderful film.

I just watched it this weekend. I loved it. I rarely want to rewatch a movie immediately after seeing it but this one needed it. I absolutely love how watching a movie a second time after knowing how it ends turns it into a whole new movie. Fabulous. Prestigious! Easily my favorite movie of 2007 (I know, I know... but I saw it in 2007, so it's my favorite for 2007. 2006 is a toss-up between X3 and Citizen Kane).

Totally one of my fav. movies. My Question - which twin tied the knot that killed Julie (Jackman's wife) I think the guy that died was the one that tied it. So Angier(Jackman) got his revenge after all.

/agree great movie. This is the kind of movie I re-watch to train myself to look for foreshadowing. Unfortunately, not many movies make use of such clever hidden clues anymore.

Yeah, loved the little hidden foreshadowings like Borden not remembering what knot he tied, or when he panics when Fallon is buried

The Village has really good hidden clues too, but some hate that movie

It was spoiled for me. I didn't hate it, but it's my least favorite M Night movie.

The best foreshadowing and the one that clued me in very early in the movie, was when they show the reality of the bird trick. One bird dies for the trick and the lookalike bid is the prestige. At that moment I started to think about the downing murder scene with Hugh Jackman and thought that must have been a double. As soon as they showed the chinese man and they both commented on his sacrafice, I started to wonder about Boden as well.

That never even occured to me! Wow, that is like the best hidden clue in the whole movie and i missed it! :duh: :duh: :duh:

It's my fav. M. Night film. But, i know tons of people who think it's his worst thus far. I guess it's a love it or you hate it, cuz i know some people who are crazy about it too.
