I've noticed that the page load speeds are starting to climb a bit. Nothing like at HQ yet, but I'm just wondering if that's the nature of the beast as the content grows, or if something else is going on?

I think part of what you are seeing is the staff working on different projects to bring new features online. Part of it could be the provider too. Just a few ideas.

Those are the answers I'm hoping are true - and not that the site will bog down eventually like HQ did - thanks Newbie.

They are picking back up. The server needed a reboot I think it's back up to full speed now.

Yeah it's kind of moving in and out. I was told it's being taken care of though. I'll call customer support again if it continues to be a problem.

Hi truth,

i've got a suggestion for the layout of the forums page if you're the right person to ask...

i think the scrolling box titled 'Last 15 Active Topics' is great! it should be on top instead of the bottom. a couple of people who are new, including myself, to the heroscapers.com website (and forums) mistook it for an advertisement!

wonder if anyone else had the same feelings about the scrolling list of active topics?

This has been brought up before. I think we have decided to leave it at the bottom. One thing I might suggest is to use the "Posts since last visit" link on the top-right of the formus page. It works wonders.

I even thought the scrolling list should be on the frontpage, right below the logo......

anything to draw more attention to the fact that there are forums here.
It was more needed before, though, when the forums weren't as easy-linked.

and gambit - i think the slow page loads were just that one day, for less than an hour. They have been blazin' fast ever since!

And just to state the obvious - that REALLY, really makes the boards a lot easier, & more fun to read.
