I wonder if you are going up a level on snow how do you count spaces?
Normally it is 1 Movement for the lvl and 1 movement to land on the top serface right?
So does moving up a lvl on snow take 4 movement?
2 for the lvl hight and 2 to land on the top surface?
The rules I have been using are no.
One mevement to move up and then 2 to land on the top or moving through the top.
Also I allow falling onto the snow with out out taking damage unless the fall is 2x the characters hieght.
What is the offical ruling on moving up on snow tiles?
Also for a alternative rule to make the ice a little more interesting.
If you are on an ice space at the end of the round then you roll a red dice and if you roll a skull you exchange the ice for a water and lose a hit point for breaking the ice

personally I just add an extra movement point for the snow or ice. So instead of two movement to go up a level, it costs 3.

Yep that's what we do as well, just add 1 for each level climbed.

The sides of a space do not count for terrain only the top portion. Here is a portion of the description of Snow Terrain from the TT Rulebook (and the .com website):
Rules for the Master Game:
Figures may move on Snow Tiles by counting each hex according to the type of snow specified in the scenario. Normal rules for counting levels applies to all types of Snow Tiles. There are 2 different types of Snow Tiles that may be specified for any scenario.
Emphasis mine. Counting levels is the same as other terrain.

Newb.WOAH! You mean it was implicitly stated in the rule books . That is so wierd that the designers would have something like that spelled out so there would be no questions...man
<The above post was full of sarcasm, in case you missed that fact>

It came up in the middle of a game and I didn't have a rule book handy. It made sence to those of us playing that it should be hard to climb onto the snow tile but then it made moving through snow way to hard when we had 2 snow tiles to climb.
For example a 2 spaced character with move 4 couldn't make it up to a snow tile 2 tiles up with a move since it would be 2 for each lvl 2 for the top tile then 2 more to move to the adjecent tile.
