Awesome stuff. We busted out our BattleBall set about a month ago, and I forgot how awesome that game is. The only problem was that our Iron Wolf tackle was kinda warped, so we ended up using Major X17 as a proxy while we repaired our tackle.

We're live from Van Ness Stadium for the first semifinal match on the road to 'Scaperbowl I. Today's game pits the Iron Wolves against the Meatgrinder.

Supported by their heavy tackle, the Iron Wolves safeties sprint forward.
http://i282.photobucket.com/albums/kk242/Mossman1967/Scaper%20Bowl/DSCF3062.jpg

A Meatgrinder running back tries to slip through, and is taken down.
http://i282.photobucket.com/albums/kk242/Mossman1967/Scaper%20Bowl/DSCF3063.jpg

The Iron Wolves safety picks up the ball and hands it off to a running back.
http://i282.photobucket.com/albums/kk242/Mossman1967/Scaper%20Bowl/DSCF3067.jpg

The heavy tackles collide, with the Meatgrinder coming up the loser.
http://i282.photobucket.com/albums/kk242/Mossman1967/Scaper%20Bowl/DSCF3068.jpg

A Meatgrinder running back tries to tackle the ball carrier and is seriously injured. Out for the game!
http://i282.photobucket.com/albums/kk242/Mossman1967/Scaper%20Bowl/DSCF3070.jpg

The Meatgrinder tackle crushes the Iron Wolves heavy tackle, sending him to the training room for the remainder of the day.
http://i282.photobucket.com/albums/kk242/Mossman1967/Scaper%20Bowl/DSCF3071.jpg

Down goes the Iron Wolves running back. Fumble!
http://i282.photobucket.com/albums/kk242/Mossman1967/Scaper%20Bowl/DSCF3072.jpg

The Meatgrinder safety picks up the ball and sprints toward the end zone, but he's tripped up the Iron Wolves running back! Uh oh! That looks serious. He's gone, folks, and the ball is on the ground again.
http://i282.photobucket.com/albums/kk242/Mossman1967/Scaper%20Bowl/DSCF3074.jpg

Once again, the Iron Wolves take control of the ball and pass it downfield...
http://i282.photobucket.com/albums/kk242/Mossman1967/Scaper%20Bowl/DSCF3075.jpg

...but a Meatgrinder steps in and takes down the Iron Wolves running back. He fumbles!
http://i282.photobucket.com/albums/kk242/Mossman1967/Scaper%20Bowl/DSCF3076.jpg

Away from the ball carrier, the Iron Wolves tackle puts a serious injury on a Meatgrinder safety. If this keeps up, the Meatgrinder will be seriously short-handed in the second period.
http://i282.photobucket.com/albums/kk242/Mossman1967/Scaper%20Bowl/DSCF3077.jpg

Everyone dashes for the ball. Brawls, fumbles, and general carnage ensue.
http://i282.photobucket.com/albums/kk242/Mossman1967/Scaper%20Bowl/DSCF3078.jpg

...and an Iron Wolf comes away with the ball.
http://i282.photobucket.com/albums/kk242/Mossman1967/Scaper%20Bowl/DSCF3079.jpg

He doesn't get far before he is knocked out. Numbers are dwindling as these teams try to mount some sort of offense. Finally, the last Meatgrinder standing, the tackle, is victimized by a devastating tackle, and knocked out for the game.
http://i282.photobucket.com/albums/kk242/Mossman1967/Scaper%20Bowl/DSCF3081.jpg

So a violent and sloppy first period comes to an end with two Iron Wolves standing. That's 6 points for a technicality, plus one point for each man standing. Looking ahead to the second half, the Iron Wolves will be without their heavy tackle, while the Meatgrinder will have to make up an 8-0 deficit while playing four players short: a tackle, a running back, and two safeties.

Our halftime score:
Iron Wolves 8
Meatgrinder 0

Things are looking grim for the Meatgrinder, who open the second half by picking up the ball and attempting a pass, which they fumble.
http://i282.photobucket.com/albums/kk242/Mossman1967/Scaper%20Bowl/DSCF3082.jpg

Escorted by a blocker, the Iron Wolves lineman picks up the ball and lumbers forward.
http://i282.photobucket.com/albums/kk242/Mossman1967/Scaper%20Bowl/DSCF3083.jpg

The Meatgrinder fail a tackling attempt.
http://i282.photobucket.com/albums/kk242/Mossman1967/Scaper%20Bowl/DSCF3084.jpg

An Iron Wolves linebacker provides a key lead block.
http://i282.photobucket.com/albums/kk242/Mossman1967/Scaper%20Bowl/DSCF3085.jpg

Followed by another failed tackle by the Meatgrinder.
http://i282.photobucket.com/albums/kk242/Mossman1967/Scaper%20Bowl/DSCF3086.jpg

The Meatgrinder successfully execute a block. And then, in final proof that this is a cursed team, their heavy tackle attempts a “pile on” and rolls a… 1! He’s out for the game.
http://i282.photobucket.com/albums/kk242/Mossman1967/Scaper%20Bowl/DSCF3087.jpg

Realizing they are now playing for pride, the Meatgrinder tacklers swarm the ball carrier. Two fail, but one succeeds. Fumble!
http://i282.photobucket.com/albums/kk242/Mossman1967/Scaper%20Bowl/DSCF3088.jpg

In the ensuing battle for the ball, two Iron Wolves go down. The Meatgrinder running back picks it up and sprints for the end zone.
http://i282.photobucket.com/albums/kk242/Mossman1967/Scaper%20Bowl/DSCF3089.jpg

He’s taken down immediately. The Iron Wolves head the other direction.
http://i282.photobucket.com/albums/kk242/Mossman1967/Scaper%20Bowl/DSCF3090.jpg

A long pass ahead… Touchdown Iron Wolves!
http://i282.photobucket.com/albums/kk242/Mossman1967/Scaper%20Bowl/DSCF3091.jpg

And that puts a wrap on a dominating effort by the Iron Wolves, who finish with seven men standing to the Meatgrinder’s one.

The final score:

The Iron Wolves advance to Scaper Bowl I, where they will meet the winner of the Black Harts and the Supernova.

We are back again at Van Ness Stadium for the second semifinal match on the road to Scaperbowl I. Today’s matchup pits the Black Harts against the Supernova.

As the game begins, the Black Harts move forward. Their running back scoops up the ball, and is immediately taken out by the Supernova heavy tackle.

The Black Harts retaliate by taking down a Supernova linebacker.

The Black Harts regain the ball and sweep left. As the teams battle, a Black Hart lineman and the Supernova tackle go down.
http://i282.photobucket.com/albums/kk242/Mossman1967/Scaper%20Bowl/DSCF3094.jpg

The Black Hart blockers clear the path, taking down a Supernova running back and seriously injuring a lineman. Meanwhile, the Black Hart running back dashes down the sideline toward the end zone.
http://i282.photobucket.com/albums/kk242/Mossman1967/Scaper%20Bowl/DSCF3095.jpg

The Supernova safety tackles the ball carrier, but both are injured on the play.
http://i282.photobucket.com/albums/kk242/Mossman1967/Scaper%20Bowl/DSCF3096.jpg

The Supernova running back gathers in the loose ball and advances up the field behind the heavy tackle’s lead block.
http://i282.photobucket.com/albums/kk242/Mossman1967/Scaper%20Bowl/DSCF3097.jpg

The Black Hart tackles deal out some punishment, sending the ball carrier to the locker room for the half and the heavy tackle to the trainer’s room for the remainder of the game, and the ball goes back to the Black Harts.
http://i282.photobucket.com/albums/kk242/Mossman1967/Scaper%20Bowl/DSCF3098.jpg

Proving that his worth extends beyond the battlefield, Supernova safety Agent Carr takes out the running back. The Supernova running back picks up the ball and passes it ahead.
http://i282.photobucket.com/albums/kk242/Mossman1967/Scaper%20Bowl/DSCF3099.jpg

Not finished with the beat-downs, Carr seriously injures the Black Hart tackle.
http://i282.photobucket.com/albums/kk242/Mossman1967/Scaper%20Bowl/DSCF3100.jpg

The two teams continue to slug it out, and two more players for each team are knocked out.
http://i282.photobucket.com/albums/kk242/Mossman1967/Scaper%20Bowl/DSCF3102.jpg

The Supernova swings a pass ahead to Carr.
http://i282.photobucket.com/albums/kk242/Mossman1967/Scaper%20Bowl/DSCF3103.jpg

Whose run of good luck ends in a crushing collision. We won’t be seeing any more of him today, folks.
http://i282.photobucket.com/albums/kk242/Mossman1967/Scaper%20Bowl/DSCF3104.jpg

The carnage continues unabated as more players fall to injury. We’re down to one player remaining on each team.
http://i282.photobucket.com/albums/kk242/Mossman1967/Scaper%20Bowl/DSCF3105.jpg
http://i282.photobucket.com/albums/kk242/Mossman1967/Scaper%20Bowl/DSCF3106.jpg

The Supernova picks up the ball and sprints for the end zone. Referee Sudema signals Touchdown!
http://i282.photobucket.com/albums/kk242/Mossman1967/Scaper%20Bowl/DSCF3107.jpg

So, the first half comes to a close with the Supernova leading the Black Harts 11 to 1.

The second half opens with the Black Harts playing without their tackle, and the Supernova missing their heavy tackle, a lineman, and a safety.

The Supernova picks up the ball and passes it ahead, trying to bring this game to an early end.
http://i282.photobucket.com/albums/kk242/Mossman1967/Scaper%20Bowl/DSCF3109.jpg

But he, along with another Supernova, are taken out. The Black Harts pick up the ball and hand it off to their lineman.

The Supernova take down the ball carrier and regain control of the ball.
http://i282.photobucket.com/albums/kk242/Mossman1967/Scaper%20Bowl/DSCF3111.jpg

The game gets nasty, as players fall on both sides, with the Black Harts getting the better of the scrap. The Supernova carry the ball around the right side.
http://i282.photobucket.com/albums/kk242/Mossman1967/Scaper%20Bowl/DSCF3112.jpg

But the Black Harts pick up the ball and head the other way.
http://i282.photobucket.com/albums/kk242/Mossman1967/Scaper%20Bowl/DSCF3113.jpg

Farther downfield, the Black Harts block for their runner. The last remaining Supernova goes down, bringing the second half to a close.
http://i282.photobucket.com/albums/kk242/Mossman1967/Scaper%20Bowl/DSCF3114.jpg

That’s six points for a technicality, plus four points for the Black Harts remaining on the field. Which makes our score 11-11. We’re going to overtime, folks!

The overtime period begins with the Supernova having lost five players to serious injury against the Black Harts’ three. Seeking to take advantage of their superior numbers, the Black Harts take control of the ball and swing a pass back to their running back.
http://i282.photobucket.com/albums/kk242/Mossman1967/Scaper%20Bowl/DSCF3115.jpg

He brings the ball downfield…
http://i282.photobucket.com/albums/kk242/Mossman1967/Scaper%20Bowl/DSCF3116.jpg

…but is brought down, and fumbles. Everyone scrambles for the ball. The Black Hart heavy tackle takes out a Supernova, but can’t get around the carnage to get to the ball.
http://i282.photobucket.com/albums/kk242/Mossman1967/Scaper%20Bowl/DSCF3117.jpg

The Black Harts pick up the ball and attempt a long pass downfield, but it is off-target, and taken by the Supernova.
http://i282.photobucket.com/albums/kk242/Mossman1967/Scaper%20Bowl/DSCF3106.jpg

As players are knocked out of the game, the Supernova complete a long pass deep in Black Hart territory, but the receiver can’t get past the Black Hart safety.
http://i282.photobucket.com/albums/kk242/Mossman1967/Scaper%20Bowl/DSCF3119.jpg

The Black Harts advance toward the end zone, with only one remaining Supernova standing in the way. A pass ahead to the ten yard line. The Supernova tackler can’t get to the ballcarrier without first getting by the Black Harts heavy tackle. A devastating impact, and both players go down!
http://i282.photobucket.com/albums/kk242/Mossman1967/Scaper%20Bowl/DSCF3120.jpg

And that’s the game! The Black Harts record a technicality, plus three points for their remaining players, making our final score:

Supernova 11
