I know he's no Johnny Cash, but I'll miss him. I grew up listening to him.

So now, to have just a moment of sorrow at his passing, I feel it appropriate to play his most famous song, one more time:

If he brings you happiness then I wish you both the best
It's your happiness that matters most of all
But if he ever breaks your heart if the teardrops ever start
I'll be there before the next teardrop falls
Though it hurts to let you go darling I want you to know
I'll stand by you if ever you should call
And if I should ever hear that he made you shed a tear
I'll be there before the next teardrop falls
I'll be there anytime you need me by your side
To dry away every teardrop that you cried
If he ever leaves you blue just remember I love you
And I'll be there before the next teardrop falls
Yes I'll be there before the next teardrop falls

Further proof,... we're Brothers from different Mothers.

I tip my glass.

"Take a Letter Maria..."

"I'm Gonna start a new life."

I have to recall this:

As a young punk, I spent quite a few Saturdays at my Aunt Mae's.
(Yes, I said it, Aunt Mae.)

Well, Aunt M loved to spoil the crap out of me.
All the COOLEST old school G.I.Joe crap.
Eagle-Eye Joe
Camping-set.
The A.T.V.

I had this kick-arse, compound set up @ M's.
I Loved going there every weekend.

Here's where Freddy comes in;
She was always listening too F.F., J.Cash, or Elvis.
Sometimes, R. Orbinson.
or Don Willams.
I knew I was goning to hear great tunes,
I knew I was going to play with cool toys...
Good, Freaking times...

I've never really listened to him. I mean I've heard his name, but I've never really heard his music. I really like the lyrics you put up. I may have to check him out.

To be honest, FF has a very nasal, honkey tonk voice. You may not like him. He's great memories for me having grown up listening to him. I'm not trying to discourage you, but you should listen to him in the proper context.
