i hate sports. if the ones you listed, football was my vote. i cant sit still long enough to watch someone else play. i prefer to actually be out on the field getting the **** knocked out of me by someone 3 times my size....now THATS fun.

I voted before I read the post...thought you meant to play. I'm with K/H Addict, I would rather play than watch (but I do like to watch too). Just played b-ball for the first time since my thumb accident (if anyone remembers from HQ).

I can tell you don't like b-ball since you spelled out base but not basket.

Hey, how about baseketball? :D

Spectator:
1) basketball, team: Nuggets
2) Football, team: Bears
3) Tennis, current player: Federer (All-time: McEnroe)
4) Baseball, team: Cubs (it's proximity and my Grandma's fault)

Participant
1) Tennis
2) Basketball
3) The other b-ball
4) LaCrosse (just starting up slinging those baskets with my son)

Of course, if skateboarding and snowboarding are in the mix, they dominate the participant side of things

What, no love for volleyball? #2 Most popular in the world (after soccer). It is the ultimate team sport; you can't ride your best player's coat tails like in basketball. And none of this 2 on 2 crap, the only thing beach has going for it is lanky girls in bikinis. And don't even start with Wallyball; that's a crime against nature there.

After volleyball, I like basketball (go Spurs) and football. Tennis is pretty good, but they usually don't televise the most entertaining stuff (ie doubles). If I had the time AND money, golf.

A.M. you shut your mouth, women's beach volleyball is quite possibly the most beautiful thing on the face of the planet!

http://ranger-bob.net/r4082584918.jpg

I don't have anything else to say about that.

I guess my favorite sport to participate in would have to be running, since, well, I run. I am always up for pick-up b-ball and/or football. Anywhere anytime baby.

Bannister, that picture would be better if she was blocking line (one finger) or maybe read (fist), but I digress. The problem I have with beach volleyball is that it is no longer a sport, but an excuse for looking at women in bikinis. There are better women to look at in bikinis on a more...this is a "kid friendly" site so I shouldn't say that...I'll say cost effective (I guess I should edit out the fist then). If you want to look at chicks in bikinis look at chicks in bikinis. No need to say you like a sport when it's just the chicks you're watching. As a sport, I think beach volleyball is a colossal waste of time, and the sport is what I tune in for. Sure there are some phenomenal players in beach, but it is kind of like watching the flag football competitions that make it onto the ESPN's from time to time. It doesn't beat the real thing.

These are not sports the're games. Sport requires the potential of death or to quote F. Scott Fitzgerald "There are only two sports motorsports and Mountain Climbing everything else is just a game."

My top five games and/or sports are
1. Auto Racing
2. Hockey
3. Aussie Rules
4. Lacrosse
5. Rugby

I don't waste time watching much sports on television. If I am flipping through channels I may stop and watch some uncommon sport for a while but will eventually change to something more interesting. The only sporting events I watch on purpose are the Super Bowl (for the commercials) and the World Strongest Man competitionf (I used to be a powerlifter). Now participation is different. I enjoy kayaking, canoeing, white-water rafting (class V), soccer, volleyball (including two and three man beach), bocce, marksmanship, and horseshoes. Grown men getting paid to have fun is just silly and I refuse to sponsor it.

I don't really watch many sports myself, but I do play a little of basket ball and occasionally baseball. The real thing I'm into doing though if anything is Ultimate and Freestyle frisbee. Lots of fun, at least for me.

I don't argue with looking at girls in bikinis; I argue with the people that say they like volleyball, when in truth they are just looking at girls in bikinis. It's the basic spirit of "let's call a spade a spade". Volleyball is my favorite sport because of the sport. I don't like guys that are just horny saying volleyball is their favorite sport. IMO the only sport that is truly like indoor volleyball is football.

Another favorite that I forgot is Hockey. I don't like watching on TV because my mind tells me the ice sheet is the same size as a basketball court (it's roughly the same shape, and on TV they look about the same). It's hard to really appreciate how fast those guys are going on the ice until you see it in person.

EDIT: I really should put in a disclaimer that I'm currently trying to get hired on a college volleyball coaching staff, so I am very biased here.

Ok, you got me, I don't like volleyball, I just use beach volleyball as an excuse to watch women in bikinis. It is a sickness I know but one that I am sure, with proper counseling and medication I can overcome.

Hello, everyone my name is Bannister.

*Hello, Bannister*

I have been watching beach volleyball for years claiming it is a sport when in truth I just wanted to see the women in thier bathing suits. It started for me early on. I began watching Wonder Woman as a young boy and told everyone that I was just a fan of the comic character when in fact I just loved the outfit. I started hitting the hard stuff after that, I began freebasing Nair commercials. You know you have all seen them

*If you dare wear short shorts....*

What I am really concerned about is the youth of today. They think it is just harmless fun, but look at this:

player_of_football you got me confused. Football is a fall sport and men's volleyball is a spring sport. Women's volleyball is a fall sport. Something doesn't add up, but I'm with you on baseball.
