NEW YORK CITY
11:57 AM EDT | 5/24/13
Beneath his helm, a wry smile crosses Obadiah Stane's face. "Well, looks like the Armored Avenger has arrived... new look, Tony? Never really pictured you as the flag-waving type..."
The mysterious man in red, white, and blue stands still, hands on his hips, silent as a ghost.
"And you're usually a fan of the trash talking! But it looks like you want to get right down to business." Rows of jets on his back begin to glow. "That's something I can respect."
Before the eyes can follow, the lumbering iron beast cruises ahead, and his fist connects with the full force of a train at mach speed. His target barely reacts, his pose unchanged.
"Bullski!" shouts the Iron Monger, "keep him low with those rings!" Titanium Man zooms in close and does just that; his target, again, seems unphased. "Now Gilbert, light him up!" Twin jets of flame consume him as the public below gawks and glares at the clash above the city streets, their would-be hero cloaked in an inferno, visible only to the man right in front of him.
Stane watches as the armor turns a vivid, near-molten red. "Sweating yet, Tony? Can't take the heat? I know, it's a bit overwhelming to deal with all of this at once. Can't blame you if you're a bit off your game. I can't let you go..." He raises an iron fist. "But I can't blame you." And swings.
His fist is caught.
INTERNATIONAL SPACE STATION
4:07 PM GMT | 5/24/13
High in the sky, Stark watches with rapt attention as the battle turns on a dime.
"Who IS that? He knows how to fly... is it Rhodey? I hope it's Rhodey. Wait, no, please not Rhodey, guy's shooting like an amateur. And looks like crap."
Shots are fired faster than the camera crew on the ground can react - Stane is thrown to the street below, Titanium Man shot down in a hail of bullets, his arsenal seemingly useless against the armored ace. Firebrand engages soon after and, with a knee to the face, is taken out just as quickly. Just as Iron Monger begins to climb up from the asphalt, "Iron Man" lands - on top of him. His big blue suit shatters, and it seems likely the man inside does the same.

NEW YORK CITY
12:12 PM EDT | 5/24/13
A helicopter begins to circle just as the news crews approach. The mob is incoherent - only the closest reporters can hope to get a word in.
"Ned Leeds, Daily Bugle - Tony Stark, any statements on your whereabouts for the past month? What's with the new look? And how are the Avengers working to counteract the influx of super-criminals on New York streets since the end of last month?"
"First things first, Ned," he says, "I'm not Tony Stark. Tony Stark clearly has better things to do than clean up the messes he started - a city held hostage by men using his tech, men using tech developed by him, men using skills he taught them. Men that should never even have started - men that I knew, and we knew, had to be stopped."
http://i1169.photobucket.com/albums/r502/Hellfire33/674585a2-5272-42a1-ba04-6ec13bd1591f_zpsd0183a53.jpg
"I'm the first in a new class of hero. The sort of hero this country needs. The Avengers are out of style! Their enemies have been wreaking havoc for weeks now, and not a single hero's appeared to stop them. I've offered my services to the U.S. Government, and this Independence Day you'll be introduced to the NEW Avengers!"
The crowd buzzes with anticipation as the reporter scribbles a quote into his notepad. "Just one question - any chance we can get a name for the byline?"
He chuckles. "Ha ha, fair enough. Should have taken this mask off when the fight ended, huh?" With a click, it unlatches.

"My name is Norman Osborn - but you can call me the Iron Patriot!"
NEW YORK CITY
12:48 PM EDT | 5/24/13
Osborn arrives at the gate to the Forum, still dressed in red, white, and blue. Luthor, in purple and green, aids as a pit crew strips him down.
"Amora!" he barks, kicking off his iron greaves, "Be sure Stane gets his paycheck ASAP. He shouldn't know Oscorp was his hire, but I'd rather not any loose ends." Armor in pieces, he slips out of his flight suit and pulls on a pair of dark green slacks, a heavy suit.
"A (http://www.heroscapers.com/community/showthread.php?p=1817771&posted=1)ct One's over." He straightens his tie. "Time to assemble some Avengers."

Thanks hi! And congratulations on joining the team!
The "Back Page" section of the first post has been updated with any and all hitherto unreleased units to have gone through playtesting since spring 2010, when the INNER SANCTUM was built... (Right down the road from Superman´s Fortress of Solitude...)
I´ll keep the list up to date and current...

If you can help me put anything in the "Boosters hinted at" spoiler please do!
Of the ones currently there, SINISTER SIX and SECRET SIX are sorta no-brainers, but ENEMIES OF THE AVENGERS, that´s got lots of potential... What would YOU hope to see in such a booster?
Personally, I´m crossing my fingers for ULTRON, and it would be nice to have a C3G card, to turn the squad from Volcarren Wasteland into LAVAMEN, classic Avengers villains, first seen in Avengers issue 5, from waaay back.

Your initial assessment is more than a hunch,
I told you myself several times more than a bunch.
Since you asked me so kindly, I'll tell you my good fellow,
the figure you seek is clearly not yellow.
On two legs this figure does stand,
with a lurking look and a club in his hand.
And now you know the figure we chose,
go tell your friends and lie to your foes.

Not always. We use the results of that playtesting to determine the cost, so the cost could easily change after the playtesting.

Your initial assessment is more than a hunch,
I told you myself several times more than a bunch.
Since you asked me so kindly, I'll tell you my good fellow,
the figure you seek is clearly not yellow.
On two legs this figure does stand,
with a lurking look and a club in his hand.
And now you know the figure we chose,
go tell your friends and lie to your foes.
...I think I'm right.
At least I narrowed it down to the two figures that I already bought. :p

About figure choices for unreleased figures I can tell you this... After C3G started posting pictures of the figures to be used along with playtesting sign-up, there´s only a good few handfulls of figures where the final figure choice hasn´t been revealed, and most of those are taken care of with the release of wave 4. After that you should be pretty much capable of planning your clix purchases based on solid info.
I can´t promise anything yet, but after the wave 4 release, if you like, I´ll have a talk with the Heroes about maybe revealing the figure choices for the few remaining Mystery Men...
But I can promise you that, while we may tease and ;) around here, we would never post misleading info that would make you buy unnescessary, expensive figures.

I believe you are both misunderstanding me. :D I'm not taking them from the playtesting results from those figures. I'm getting them from playtesting results of figures like Anti-Monitor. If Anti-Monitor is being playtested by figures that are still "pending", you have a major issue with your playtesting. I sincerely doubt this is the case. I'd venture that those figures are finalized if they're being used to playtest other figures.

We have an on deck thread where FINALIZED units sit and wait to be released to the public in a wave. So there are several Lantern's that haven't come out yet, but we playtest with them quite a bit.

Good points being made here... I think we can solve the issue by saying that even though the points values floating around here are certainly in the ballpark, nothing is 100% final before a card is released, printed and played with.
Unreleased figures are tweaked and fine tuned all the time, including final points costs.

C3G does stand for Comics Customs Creators Guild...
So that´s comics customs, nothing said or mentioned about being a strictly Superhero based guild, right?
While I hope to see a lot more superheroes before the project branches out, I think there is potential in other directions...
Personally, I would love to see C3G versions of Hellboy and the B.P.R.D.
What non-Marvel/DC, perhaps even non-superhero, but still comic book relevant units, with usable figures readily available, would you most like to see?
Griffin
November 18th, 2010, 04:09 AM
Yes, Hellboy is a comic, and IMO, he is also a Super Hero. Either way though, I am sure that we will eventually end up creating him.

November 18th, 2010, 04:38 AM
If you ever do Hellboy, and the other B.P.R.D. guys and gals, it would be cool to take into consideration that original Scape already has a lot of Vampires, Zombies, Werevolves and other monster types for them to fight... I´m thinking about the "C3G creations are not recommended for use with classic Scape" clause here...

People CAN play the two together though, and they will, and they are in fact. However, I think it is HIGHLY likely that we will end up creating our own evil creatures and probably use some official figures as well. In fact, I think that is something the allies should start working on publicly asap, that way when we create Hellboy, Van Helsing, Blade, etc, we will already have some monsters to test them against.

Yeah, I'd LOVE to see Phantom Stranger, but can't really imagine how he'd play... same with the Watcher. Though there isn't a mini for the Watcher, so, yeah.
And I've also playtested Gordon, so, I won't be guessing. Glad to see he's getting a release soon, though. :D

Yeah, due to there not being a large amount of interest in starting Gotham designs after Wave 3, he was looking like he was going to be buried for quite a while. This was a good solution. I believe it was DW's idea too, wasn't it?

Okay, being a police commisioner with glasses, mustache and a trenchcoat may not be as exciting as being a Malevolent Entity with the power to DESTROY UNIVERSES, but is there no love for Gordon?
There´s plenty of things to try to figure out yet... May I hear some guesses about stats, life, points cost and those two nifty sounding powers on the card? :D

My guess:
COMMISIONER GORDON
HUMAN
UNIQUE HERO
LAWMAN
HONEST
MEDIUM 5
Life: 3
Move: 5
Range: 6
Attack: 3
Defense: 3
GOTHAM PD
Friendly Lawman squad figures within 3 clear sight spaces of Commisioner Gordom may add 1 to their attack value.
VIGILANTE ALLIES
After revealing an Order Marker on this card, before taking a turn with Commisioner Gordon, you may move 1 friendly Vigilante up to 5 spaces. Vigilanties do not recieve leaving engagement attacks when moving due to Vigilante Allies.
Pts: 90

In fact, I think you made a very good prediction with this:
Well, he's a Lawman. Probably can order around lawmen squads and call up a vigilante. Stats should be low though, 2 att/def most likely. Maybe around 100 points.
I was just fishing for some other oppinions too...

Bat Signal has to be a power that calls Batman. I don't think it would be thematic if it called anyone else. I know the Heroes don't like calling units by name in powers but I think this is one situation that it works.

I struggled with him Bats. I think he is like the Warforged in that he needs finess to use. The problem with playtesting units that require finess is that he don't always develop that finess during the playtests.

Yeah, I picked up a ton of the muggers for Thugs, too, because I only had a couple other proxies for them (Henchmen and Criminals, and the Criminals are being used in a unique squad now, so...). Lots of good Civilians, too, but I don't really care for that squad. :p

I just think they're too useful for being only Civilians. I mean, I REALLY doubt a plain ol' dude would be able to damage Hulk if Hulk wants to disengage, you know? :p I'd prefer using Civilians just for scenarios. I think it was still "choose a Vigilante" when I playtested. I recall I only used Batman in the test (along with the Cops and the Cowboys - take note there, Gordon + Jonah Hex + Cowboys makes for a pretty nice army), but I'm not sure if that was because you could only use one Vigilante, or because I just didn't have enough spare points...

Okay everybody, if you promise not to use any d20 enhancing powers, the winner of the Gordon contest will be determined by the roll of a d20...:D

I would like a free Gordon figure, and I am thankful for the C3G because it has given me a hobby, and a freakin' awesome hobby at that.

I would like to win an Anti-Monitor figure, and I'm thankful to C3G because...
Hee hee... just kidding. I wouldn't want to get in the way of those who don't have the figure, but I am thankful to C3G for producing units exciting enough to get me playing Heroscape again.

I would like a free Gordon figure, and I am thankful for the C3G because I've always been interested in super heroes and C3G sounded like just the thing with its emphasis on playtesting for quality figures to add to your game. Then when I got more involved, I found a fun bunch of guys to hang around with! I have every C3G card released printed out and laminated and I'm trying to get all the figures. Thank you all for all the work you've put into C3G!

What a great idea, DW! Thanks!
I am grateful for the C3G because my son loves it SO much. He has been earning figures, one at a time, for months now, by being good at school, helping at home, etc. His behavior and focus has improved and, most important to me, he and I have had so much good times playing Scape together. (Right now Spidey is up against Green Goblin on A3n Corner High Rise map--can't wait to get back to it!)
I'm grateful to all the work of all the people that make C3G possible and for lots of great moments in my home because C3G joined our family here.
Thanks!

I'm thankful for C3G, because it's made me feel even more included on the forum, here! I've always been* the awkward outside kid wherever I go, and I'm smack in the middle of C3G! :D
*Was, I actually have some social skills now. :p
And no, I'm not actually entering, since I already have the figure. Just wanted to say something! :D

I'd like Gordon. And I'm thankful for C3G because... it reeled me back into HeroScape, and as a result, HeroScapers. 'Scapers was always my first real hangout on the internet, and I went in-and-out of things, but had a pretty solid run up until Wave 8 or so. I started to fall out there, really just going through the motions down at the Curse of Ne-Gok-Sa forum.
But then I saw some C3G figures in the Gallery and went in to check out some more. And saw them. And saw the public designs (Sinestro Corps Soldier - one of my favorites, so I guess I got lucky timeframe-wise). And said, hey, these are pretty cool.
And the rest, as they say, is history. I've bought my first HeroScape in years as a direct result of C3G. I've started reading posts in other forums for the same reason. And now I wonder how I ever let it slip. :D

I'd like Gordon and I am down with the C3G, because it has swooped in and rescued an abandoned Heroscape product.
Truthfully before I found out about C3G and the level of professional and cohesive figures/cards being developed in Marvel and DC universe I had no interest in getting the Marvelscape set. It looked cool, but seemed pointless to have 10 figures that didn't play nice with other Heroscape figures. Having played original HS against Thanos and/or Hulk solidified this. The scale for points and stats for them was not even fair. Then I realized (from some well written posts) that you didn't have to mix the two of them together (even shouldn't) and could have some really fun and balanced games using just super heroes which thanks to the awesome customs from this site are no longer limited to just 10 figures.
For me a big part of the superhero love comes from the nostalgia of watching X-Men and Spiderman cartoons on Saturday morning or the Batman animated series after school. Then going outside and playing with neighbor kids and endlessly debating about who would win in a fight. Wolverine vs. Cyclops, Batman vs. Swamp Thing, etc. etc. etc. Now 20 years later we have a fair and balanced and incredibly fun game system in which to determine just that.

I love Web of Spiderman, TONS of cheap figures that are good as proxies. I picked up 8 of the Officers and 4 of Stone, so they don't all look exactly the same. :p
