View Full Version : Glyph Cards for the Master Set

These are some glyph cards I created back in 2005 to go along with the glyphs from the Heroscape master set.

They are often useful for new players and nice to have so you remember to take your glyph bonus during your turn (especially during large games). If you have the card sitting on top of or next to the unit occupying the glyph, you are less likely to forget.

Nice stuff.

I was looking for those after HeH's Glyph Contest on HQ, but I was unable to find them and redid them myself as I wanted to print them along with a few contest Glyphs I though worthy of playing. I did, however, recreate the back side by expanding the art about an 1/8" for double sided printing (not just resized, in this way the backs would match the real Glyph cards and would not have register mistakes if the paper skewed).

Post your redone ones here if you can. I am sure they must be better than these. Honestly, these were some of my earliest efforts messing around with the card templates Bunjee provided and I am sure I could do a better job with them now. I printed them using Word with some instructions I had that made the back match up almost perfectly.

I have these glyph cards in card protectors and we still use them all the time.

Here are the versions I created. I will add just a single Glyph of Astrid to show the face of the Glyph Card and the Glyph Card back. The remainder I will set up as links below so as not to have the overly long load time of this page for those of us still relegated to dial up ...

Glyph of Astrid card face:

Glyph Card back:
Note that this image is larger than the front to compensate for printer misalignment when double sided printing.

• Glyph of Brandar (http://i61.photobucket.com/albums/h44/Malechi_HeroScape/Glyph_Cards/Glyph-of-Brendar.jpg)
• Glyph of Dagmar (http://i61.photobucket.com/albums/h44/Malechi_HeroScape/Glyph_Cards/Glyph-of-Dagmar.jpg)
• Glyph of Erland (http://i61.photobucket.com/albums/h44/Malechi_HeroScape/Glyph_Cards/Glyph-of-Erland.jpg)
• Glyph of Gerda (http://i61.photobucket.com/albums/h44/Malechi_HeroScape/Glyph_Cards/Glyph-of-Gerda.jpg)
• Glyph of Ivor (http://i61.photobucket.com/albums/h44/Malechi_HeroScape/Glyph_Cards/Glyph-of-Ivor.jpg)
• Glyph of Kelda (http://i61.photobucket.com/albums/h44/Malechi_HeroScape/Glyph_Cards/Glyph-of-Kelda.jpg)
• Glyph of Mitonsoul (http://i61.photobucket.com/albums/h44/Malechi_HeroScape/Glyph_Cards/Glyph-of-Mitonsoul.jpg)
• Glyph of Valda (http://i61.photobucket.com/albums/h44/Malechi_HeroScape/Glyph_Cards/Glyph-of-Valda.jpg)

You may open the above images, or simply download them if you wish following your web browser's instructions.

Also note that for printing to the correct dimensions ... You need to print these images at 202 dpi??? I am not sure how this number came about as I uploaded these images using the standard size most 'scapers use for their card images. I converted my original dimensions (at 300 dpi) to a height of 926 pixels for the card image itself not including the border. Actual card width 4.847 by a height of 4.590.

I hate to ask a dumb question, but what is the purpose of these? They're nicely done, but what do you use them for?

Same purpose as those included in Wave 1 with the glyphs.

I mostly use them with new players that don't know the glyph powers. When
they land on a glyph, I hand them the card so they can read the power and
remember they are on the glyph by placing it next to the character that is
standing on it (in large games, sometimes glyph bonuses are easily
overlooked). Easy and simple, plus they match the Wave 1 cards and you
never have to look in the rulebook.

They are dead on my end too. I'm seeing just a broken image icon on the images in the thread as well.

Those are nice! I might have to print out one or two that I forget a lot... Plus because I forget I have them a lot...

But, on a side note, those pictures are very large, and some peole have very slow internet connections. You might want to link them instead.

Try clearing your browser's cache. Reload this page ... Wait until the entire page fully loads! Then try the links. I am on dial up and can get all images to load properly ...

I just cleared my cache. I reloaded this page. I clicked on one of your links and I get this message:

The image “http://i61.photobucket.com/albums/h44/Malechi_HeroScape/Glyph_Cards/dagmar.jpg” cannot be displayed, because it contains errors.

Cleared cache. Still unable to see or link to the images. I've tried on multiple machines as well. One with IE6 others with IE7.

... And I can view each image on multiple machines with different browsers and OS, I have no idea what to tell you ... Therre is not much I can do from my end as they are links to images, no html, nothing ... there is nothing that can actually be going wrong when there is an image at the url which there is.

Here are the actual URLs, try copy and paste into your browsers if nothing else ...

I went and signed myself out of photobucket and then tried opening them from this message. Again, they all worked just fine. Perhaps utilizing another browser besides AOL or Gates-plorer might help ...

Error in the latest version of Firefox as well. . .

The links work for me using Safari. However, I get the error using Firefox.

I did find a way to access the images using Firefox. Try this:

Right-click on Malechi's links and select "Save Link as..." You will be able to download the jpg onto your computer and open from there.
