I'll join, I think making historical figures would be cool; they would fit in well with HS.

Thanks for signing up.

As the project structure, I think one way to do it ould be to put together an idea pool, and vote on what wee want to design.

As for ranks...

Not sure.

I would be interested. I don't frequent the boards that much but would be glad to throw in my two cents.

Right now, I just want everyone to brainstorm, get those ideas out there.

WWI German Soliders
WWII Russian Soldiers
Confederate Calvary
Spanish Conquistadors
Transvaal Gunman (British Colonial Machine Gun Operator)
Boer Guerillas
Renualt FT-17 (A light French WWI tank)
Bolshevik Revolutionary

Among others...

Kurrok, welcome to the group, Odin too.

I don't know how much time I can devote to this, but I've always felt that we needed more combatants from history. I'll do my best to keep up with the thread and chime in when I have something I think will help.

Some suggestions:
US Civil War - Union and Confederate
US Cavalry & Native Americans
British Soldiers and Zulu
WWI Doughboys, British, French, & German
WWII Soldiers from all major combatants and theaters of operation - maybe even Special Forces like Army Rangers
Desert Storm

Korean War

I'm in.
Though I won't be able to come up with many initial ideas, I can help do the designing.

In fact, I'll start by taking the Zulu idea and going with that. I'll have a squad up soon.

How about some Austrian Cavalry. At one point they had the best cavalry in the world; unfortunately new weaponry made them kind of obsolete. We don't have to do that though, we can make them fit in well with HS. I also think we should do a General Eisenhower from WWII and make a squad of Marines to go with him.

Ike would be better with some Army GIs. You could do MacArthur with some Marines then give them some Japanese troops to fight.

More mounted figures would be great. The only problem with them is finding figures or suitable proxies.

George Washington would be great. IMO, another squad of soldiers to compliment the 4th Mass and some common hero and/or uncommon hero Colonial officers.

I like the idea of a Joan of Arc, and we could make some French soldiers as a squad for her. I also think that mac122's ideas are correct. Upon further thought Ike would fit in better with the GI's and MacArthur for the Marines. As for the Japenese I am having a mental block right now, but they did have a pertenent General in WWII, just can't remember his name.

I think Joan of Arc would be a great compliment to French Knights.

As for the calvary themselves:

Confederate/Union Calvary Possiblity (http://www.warandpeacegames.com.au/shop/productDetails.do?categoryId=145&productId=303)
$35 bucks for twevle miniatures, which would ammount up to four squads. (Note, probaly unpainted)

French Knight Possibilities (http://www.mirliton.it/product_info.php?pName=french-knight-charging-1420&osCsid=f9c4dc48495510d5ccc53b31dd3c1daf)
Witht the minimum order of 15 Euro, the total price in American Dollars adds up to About $40 for 4 painted squads of three.

I'm not as familiar with Japanese field generals - that'll take some more research. Tojo was the head of the military and basically ran the country during the war, but he wasn't really a field general.

I know Tojo but I have done a lot of research on WWII so I know that there was a field general for the Japenese. I believe he was a major, his name was Tomitaro Horii. He ordered most of the Pacific fronts for the Japanese. I think it would be worth our time to make some French Knights to use with Joan of Arc. I already have some stats for the knights and Joan of Arc, just let me know if your interested the stats at this time.

Okay.

I'll get the ball rolling again.

I vote to work on Joan of Arc as our first custom.

Yes, a Joan of Arc, my favorite historic character ever. I have some stats already planned for her if you would like to know them.

I just wanted to see if anyone was still interested in this.

On another note, I have an idea for Joan of Arc

A Perfect Matyr
When Joan of Arc is destroyed by an opponenet's figure, you may increase the attack of all figures you control by 1 for the rest of the game.

I think I would change that to Defence. She is a Matyr so why would it increase attack. Not to mention the Omnicrons with that. Wow. It is a little on the strong for some units that really don't need it. Even if it was Defence than the rats have six. On a second note how about this

A Perfect Matyr

When Joan of Arc is destroyed by an opponenets figure all hero's that follow Jandar gain 1 defence for the rest of the game.
Or for the rest of the round.
