What I would love to see is another unique tribesman hero to give the mohican river tribe more bonding options. No bash on Brave Arrow, but the mohicans could really benefit from a more powerful tribesman. Unless, of course, the C3V might be way ahead of me and Locksley could turn out to be a tribesman. :ponder: That's just pure speculation, but one can hope!

Well, cool. That's a nice mini. All the Pathfinder minis are pretty good actually.

I guess the Deathcommander just got booted out of the Large Expansion... unless we are getting 2 Large Expansions

Keep on speculating...but i'll say we have lots of designs going thru the C3V process...so you never know what figures we are going to put into a Wave. ;)

CoNgrats on the 1000th post ZB. ;)

Yesss... I also love the Mohican River Tribesmen. They are especially suited to battle the 4th Mass. and 10th Reg. in Colonial American scenarioes. I too would like to see some additional figures added to their repertoire. For instance: #1. I repainted a "World of Warcraft Miniatures Game" - Moonshadow (Elf Druid) figure to look more like a Native American Shaman, which I use as a proxy for the Ullar Viper Warlord, that just seems out of place in the forest; and #2. I obtained a "Dream Scape Game" - Eagle Feather Warrior (#3/96) to use as a proxy for Raelin, Kelda, or Eltahale, etc. for the same reason.

But there were four other tribes in the Iroquois Federation (I believe they were the Cayuga, Canandaiga, Oneida, and Oswego ?), sooo how about another common squad to bond with? Kind of like the Heavy Grut Orks. Or perhaps you guys could pick an Algonquin counter-part that follows another general for Indian vs. Indian historical reality. Here's just something else to think about (my $0.02).

Another Huge Figure to be added to the C3V! (http://www.heroscapers.com/community/showthread.php?p=1654826#post1654826)I love this guy. We need a top-down view for double-base placement, though; i.e. should the right-hand club come down exactly between two hexes? Should the left-hand club be centered over a hex? Something like that.

The Reaper Bones version (http://www.reapermini.com/misc/KS_ManorsReward.jpg) from their KickStarter (http://www.kickstarter.com/projects/1513061270/reaper-miniatures-bones-an-evolution-of-gaming-min) also looks way cool!

I'm still willing to part out the dragons, if most people want to wait until the August re-stock...and price increase. So far, we barely have enough interest to get to $50, so I'm not seeing us get to 50 dragons...

I'm cool with waiting until August. That's just tomorrow, right? :D

Perhaps by then we'll have more people signed up, too.
I don't want to step on Porkins toes here, but if he thinks it is preferable, I'd be willing to order 30 or so, assuming the price increase isn't too high (e.g., $6.49 instead of $5.99), and send them out as requested rather than do the pre-order-signup-system.

If you all prefer the pre-order system, then sign me up for two of them Porkins!

(Also, I looked into shipping. It looks like first class mail is the cheapest route. Ace Histoli said the figure weight is 1.2 ounces, but I don't have a figure yet to know how many ounces of packaging it'll need. However, it certainly looks like it should cost less than $2.50 to ship the figure in the U.S. and U.S. territories (e.g., to Puerto Rico for Rocktroll)).

I just called TGFToys and the person I talked to consulted with Kevin regarding the product. They said that they can still get the product, but the ETA is now mid-to-late September. Personally, I'm becoming less hopeful that they will be able to restock. Perhaps they will, but this figure is from the 2009 collection and seems to be going out of stock around the globe. I don't know how long Bullyland typically makes each of these figures.

Germany has the most vendors with them still available, but most of them have limited quantities. (I've also found some in stock in Spain, Italy and Russia). I have found one vendor in Germany that still has a bunch of the "correct" (official-C3V) type. They are on sale right now (just a 3% discount) and if I ordered 20, it would cost about $8.50 each to get them to me, which is $1.50 per unit higher than the price currently listed on tgftoys' website. Add $2.00 to $2.50 for me to ship it to you and we're talking up to $11.00 for me to get it to you. Is that too much?

What's the group's desire? We've got at least 4 options--keep looking for a U.S. vendor with them in stock, proxying with the more readily available variant, ordering from Germany, or waiting and seeing if tgftoys can come through for us.

G-O, how does it fit? I wanted to be sure from someone who has the "wrong" one that the fit issues are all still okay?

I know the other one has just a bit of tail issues, but that most normal sized units can stand behind Quahon, well enough. I just want to be sure that that is still true with the "stand-in" for Quahon.

I thought the "new" version was the easiest/cheapest to get. Is that not true?

(As I've said elsewhere, I don't do much online ordering, etc.--living close to CoolStuff, I tend to just use them--so apologies if I'm asking dumb questions.)

Bullyland creates the same sculpt in many colors. If you don't want to paint it then yes you can get the similar sculpt that is blue. I'm just comparing to the other options of waiting or buying and shipping from out of the country.

They're both 4'' tall but the non-official's reach is 6 & 3/4" compared to 7 1/2" of the official. They appear more similar from a distance.

The tail of the newer one does interfere with two hexes behind it. I can reshape the tail to work, but I'm not sure it will stay out of the way.

How much does it get in the way? If the dragon is standing up, can a Knight, say, fit on the space (even a bit crowded or slightly off center)? Or are those 2 spaces fully obscured?

Depending on how you glue the figure to the base, that is entirely possible. I know that I had to test where I had to glue my dragon down to minimize how the tail blocked the hexes near her. Her tail still makes in hard to figures to stay next to her for a hex and a half. You have to position her just right on the base, and the base itself as you play with her.

For the two figure squad (http://www.heroscapers.com/community/showpost.php?p=1595220&postcount=34) in development, what would the designers consider the sweet spot? Is three squads enough for a typical 500 point army or is six squads closer? I'm debating whether or not to get more.

Also, on a similar note, are three squads of the microcorp troopers (http://www.heroscapers.com/community/showpost.php?p=1540240&postcount=15) enough to use them effectively? Thanks in advance!

3 squads is a good start and will usually be all you need. I wouldn't buy another unit box unless you really like them and want to build an army around them, but they're not necessarily a great core for your army.

My rule of thumb for Squads is 4 of a 4 man and 5 of a 3 man, but for some squads you really don't need that much. (Like Templars or WoB) I usually for for 5 of the 2 man squads too...

I believe the Turquoise Flying Dragon figure being used for Quahon is still out of stock. That doesn't give us a lot of time for it to re-stock before the coupon code expires. We can hope though.

Just following up--looks like TGFToys won't be able to get this. They've missed their restocking estimates a couple of times now and as far as I can tell this exact sculpt is out-of-stock at likely distributors. I'll do some more hunting for them today, but assuming I don't find anyone better, I'm going to take the leap of faith and order a bunch (to keep per unit shipping costs reasonable) from the German supplier (link for those interested (https://www.kullertrulla.de/index.php?c1=&c2=&c3=&c4=&c5=&ActionCall=WebActionArticleSearch&Params%5BSearchInDescription%5D=1&Params%5BSearchParam%5D=75592&Params%5BProducer%5D=&x=0&y=0)). I'll post here when I've received them and offer them first to those who previously expressed interest and then on a first-come-first-served basis. Hopefully I don't end up with a box full of turquoise lizards nobody wants.

I've never read Varan's bio until now. I always thought he was WWII. Now as to speculate what the figure could be...

"When the Combined Action Platoon of the Chu Lai village experienced heavy concentrated fire from communist forces, Jandar intervened to save the lives of these men, so they would be able to instruct his forces in Valhalla what it truly means to be a hero."
-(Capt. John Varan's Bio)

I've always liked the random blog feature in the blog section. Today GreyOwl's SotW article popped up, I was surprised to see that his name was John Varan; I never knew C3V's John Varan was named after a real person. I like that your continuing the tradition of naming some figures after scapers, like Van Nessing and Heroes of Vasel's Vigil.

My question is, are there any other C3V figures I didn't mention that are named after real people?

I know that the D&D waves have bios of a sort but those are blurbs not bios really. After all heroscape is in the fans hands now and we can all come up with ideas for bios if possible.

Hi HSguy...

I'm confused by your post...although caps is correct, you state that the Brass Samurai and the Death Demon are in the same pic...which in not the case. I think you are mistaking a Official figure for the Brass Samurai. So I'll add clarification to the pics are as follows:

Death Demon
(featured with Kaemon Awa, Isamu, 3 Ashigaru Yari, 1 Tagawa Samurai and Shurrak)

http://i1185.photobucket.com/albums/z356/SMO1971/Heroscape/Comparison%20shots/Akkma.jpg?t=1350786273

Brass Samurai

http://i1185.photobucket.com/albums/z356/SMO1971/Heroscape/Comparison%20shots/Gox.jpg?t=1350786273

Hope this helps with confusion

C3V TEASER (http://www.heroscapers.com/community/blog.php?b=2130)

Check it out!

machinekng
November 1st, 2012, 10:37 PM
Well, it's a "huge" way, so it the teaser may be refering to the release of C3V's 1st large hero pack.

But that doesn't really mesh with the "advancement" part of the teaser, which would suggest that the C3V program itself is advancing, somehow becoming "better" as a whole. Possible structural changes, perhaps? Maybe a bit more openness in the design process or semi-open playtesting?

Probably not, but I would like a better look at what's going on inside the sanctum (yes, I know about the public access program, but still...)

Maybe another offical game designer will become part of the sanctum?

Maybe C3V has been contacted and is being sponsered by a minis company that will ensure a good supply of minis for Fanscape in the long run? (Although this would probably violate Hasbro/WotC's IP.)

I really don't know, but I can't wait to find out! :D (Although it's most likely the large hero pack...)

Again, what Xotli describes above is the only difference. In all other ways - size, color, pose - the two figures are identical.I thought the tails were different, placement issues for adjacency?

High priced, I bought one box each of the Kaptors and the Anakongas and I am satisfied...if I bought more it would be for a large epic battle. If you want to include other Primadons in your Army*, one box worth would be sufficient. Each box has 4 figures, so two squads per box.

You won't want to get more than 2 boxes (4 squads). 1 box would even be enough, in some cases.

Pied Pippers is an interesting thing to be related to Christmas. However, I do remember Killometer's Rat Swarms that went through the SoV and was voted down. Maybe there is going to be a character like the Pied Pipper that leads rats. A Pied Pipper with a revamped Rat Swarm would be pretty cool.

Woah, just went back to read the comments on my comic, and realized that ZBeeblebrox gave us a huge hint as to the title of Large Expansion 4.

Here's my thoughts on the new teaser. The "C3V THE PIED PIPERS OF FANSCAPE" implies that they are leading the way for other Fanscape groups, but I'm not really sure how they are doing that. I could be way off track. However, I would bet that the next wave is called XXXXXX's March or March of XXXXXXXX.

- Marching, characteristic of Soldiers... perhaps some new Einar units?

- Dancing, easily placed. Now what HeroScape unit is associated with dancing... Hmmm... :ponder:

November 30th, 2012, 09:57 PM
Well, in order to include all of the Varkaanan Squads, DANCING, it would require two unique packs. Even though the amount of Uniques largely outnumbers commons, I expect them not to break the trend of only 2 Unique Packs. MARCHING matches the themes of both armored soldiers and troopers. Pied piper could be any number of things.

My predictions assuming its a new release.:D

Pack: Wolven Squads

Pack: Wolven Squads

Pack: Skeletons and Barbarians

Pack: Microcorp Troopers and Confrontation Spearmen

Clueless prediction:

Two uniques, two common packs (as usual with C3V). There are too many Wolves to fit, but this will most definitely be an Aquillan wave (5 of 10 predicted cards). One Unique pack will have two Wolf squads. The second will have the third Wolf squad, two Wolf heroes; the third Hero is Abel, for the Cathar Spearmen).

Common packs...Spearmen, Cave skeletons, Star troopers and...? I'm excited for the Barbarian (Einar) abilities, but I don't know if they'll be in this wave. The Cathars will join Einar, Skellies for Valkrill, Troopers for Vydar, but I don't know how they'll be distinguished from the Microcorp. Star Troopers won't be Maredians, they look too well-equipped to be a resistance force. Plus, that would add a sixth card for Aquilla (too many).

I assume the spear toting Wolfie squad & hero will wait for Wave 17, perhaps they have some synergy. And on the outside chance the SoV inducts one (or both) nearly-approved pending figures, we'll have 13-14 new cards for Christmas (including Cxurgy & the Sneaks). Add Wave 15.5 to that, it's a fine holiday season indeed at HeroScapers.com.

One long-time member of the C3V Inner Sanctum has, literally, given cookies to other members of the C3V in exchange for votes.

I don't remember if anyone ever mentioned it outside the sanctum, so you might just sort of have to guess based on (a) who the long-time members of the sanctum are and (b) who would do such a thing.

Here are your clues:

1. This is a long-time member of the IS and has been active throughout.

2. The cookies were offered to all the members of Design to secure a vote.

If there's any interest I will add more clues.

This must have been before my time. I'm curious about the answer to this.

Ooh, AV has delivered another clue. It was, indeed, before his time. Before Cap's time, too.

I know who it was, who got the goods and that I did not get any! ;)

Another ANNOUNCEMENT:

A new Common Squad (http://www.heroscapers.com/community/showthread.php?p=1726211#post1726211) coming to the C3V!

Are you sure the Royal Guard figure # 028 is correct? I found Royal Guard 011 from the same set and it looks correct.

Also, any hint of a number of squads?

I'd say that #11 and #28 are probably nearly the same.

I don't know how many to get, but they are so awesome looking that I bought 5 squads worth. :)
