Sounds very cool (and damp).

You have Player 1's Goal listed twice though.

Sorry for the poor pics, but my V-scape is having issues, so it will have to do for now. Also, I am sending out the map instructions to Gr3ny so that they can share it with all of us.

Looks good so far! I like that the special rules are staying pretty short here. :-)

Human Torch, Thing, and Flash VS Mole Man, Moloids x10, and Sub Mariner

This started with Torch taking height and Flash zipping through the map as the Moloids took positions. Flash went right past them and after Namor to get to that Revive glyph he was sitting on. Namor picked it up and took the fight to Flash. Namor took some damage and Flash got the glyph, and ran to take it towards Torch, but Namor followed. Namor ended up in the water surrounded by Mole Man and the Moloids, and Flash zipped right through them and grabbed the glyph of Atlantis. These glyphs got knocked around a bunch, and everyone fought over them for a while. The Moloids held the Cosmic Shielding glyph so Flash's SA really sucked. The Moloids died and came back from the dark, died and came back from the dark, and died and came back from the dark again, all the while the Heroes were fighting over the items. Namor eventually died due to some Flame on and a a strong attack on height, but Mole Man had a surprise attack on Torch and surrounded him with 3 other Moloids. Torch got down to 2 wounds, then he flamed on and gave them all 2 wounds each, but he took some leaving engagement attacks as he ran towards the far corner of the map. With control of both glyphs, the Adventurers started concentrating their efforts on killing Mole Man but his subterranean senses were too keen, and he avoided attack after attack. Eventually the Moloids surrounded Thing, and though his thick skin did kill some, they managed to half his life (which is significant). Mole Man finally died, but Flash, Torch, and Thing were bloody, and just barely escaped the fight with their life.

Thing (3 wounds), Flash (3 wounds), Torch (4 wounds) wins with the Glyphs of Atlantis and Revive.

Looks like the campaign is proceeding successfully! :-) You're setting yourself up to do well in the rest of them with all those glyphs, and no heroes dead yet.

Well Mr Fan is dead, but I know that I can at least revive him.

Test 1: Sub-Mariner with consistent 8/8 stats is nasty!! He had at least three 6 skull attacks. I'll have to try a more concerted effort against him. He won this one in Round 5 with 2 life left after killing Mr. Fantastic, Human Torch, and She-Hulk. They dispatched with Mole Man fairly easily, but Sub-Mariner on water took them to task.

Test 2: This one took 7 rounds, but Sub-Mariner assassinated Human Torch, Mr. Fantastic, and Thing once again. A four skull attack by Sub-Mariner that She-Hulk responded to with 1 shield on 7 dice was brutal. So was an earlier 7 skull attack by Sub-Mariner on She-Hulk. Human Torch, meanwhile, rolled only 2 skulls on a last gasp Supernova Special Attack.

Test 3: Maybe the third time will be the charm for my dice? Close enough! She-Hulk and Human Torch survive with She-Hulk at full life and Human Torch down to 1 life and the Mysterious Artifact in tow on Turn 1 of Round 9. Mr. Fantastic died in the battle and no other glyphs were claimed.

The Negative Zone.

I thought the map for Cosmic Invasion was "The Negative Zone" and I thought this one for Subterranean Subterfuge was just called "Subterranea":shrug:

Griffin

Oh, I am sorry, I was sleepy and not paying attention. This is Subterranea.

The "Through the Looking Glass" scenario is the Negative Zone, and the "Cosmic Invasion" scenario is the Statue of Liberty.

Sorry for the mix up.

How's this?

The vast world located under the surface of the Earth, unseen and unknown of by most Humans is Subterranea. Full of stalactites, stalagmites, and underground rivers, it is ruled by the Mole Man and it's main inhabitants are the Subterraneans and the Moloids. There are locations on the surface that lead to Subterranea, such as Monster Island and other caves and volcanoes, some of which are natural and some of which were created by artificial means.

Here is the first draft of the Scenario.
As the Fantastic Four return to the Baxter Building with their old friend Jennifer Walters, the Sensational She-Hulk, everyone is too concerned for Jen to notice that things are awry. Thing carries Jen to the couch and sets her down, trailed by Johnny, Reed, and Sue. Reed is the first to notice an odd odor. “Does anyone else perceive an odorous emanation?”
Johnny reponds, “If you mean something stinks, yeah, I sure do!”
Reed with his hands going one way and his head the other immediately begins to search for the source. Just as Johnny flies out of the room to search, the Mole Man pops out from behind a door and makes a break for the elevator. Everyone is too startled to chase him and he makes his getaway.

As Jen comes to, Ben asks, “Shulkie, you alright now?”
Jen quips, “If I’d known you cared that much I might never have left, you blue-eyed softie!”

“Well, I’ve deduced what the Mole Man pilfered and the result is a bleak one.” Reed announces as he comes back into the room after searching Mole Man’s former hiding place to figure out what is missing. “He has made off with my Negative Zone Portal and the technology that goes with it.”
Sue angrily responds, “Oh Reed, I told you to destroy that thing after our run-in with Annihilus there. What possible reason could you have for keeping it around?”
“Dear, I’m a scientist and inquiring minds NEED to know. There were so many questions I had about that place after our visit, I couldn’t destroy my only link to the answers.” Reed hugs her apologetically.
Johnny reenters and surveying the scene asks, “What did I miss?”
Ben looks from Johnny to Reed and Sue and then to Jen and asks, “Hey Green Genes, you up for an Underground adventure?”

 My template has default 3 pages as a default & it's a simple matter to delete the extra page when I remember it. The Tar Pits stuff is just the template style for optional rules & normally is deleted with that 3rd page when it's not needed. :)

Two minor tweaks here. Somehow, Jenn answered Johnny when Ben asked the question.

The Fantastic Four return to the Baxter Building with their old friend Jennifer Walters, the Sensational She-Hulk. Everyone is far too concerned for Jen to notice that things have gone quite awry.

Thing carries Jen to the couch and sets her down, trailed by Johnny, Reed, and Sue.

Reed, forever preoccupied with peculiarities, is the first to notice an odd odor. “Does anyone else perceive an odorous emanation?”

Johnny responds, “If you mean something stinks, yeah, I sure do!”

Reed with his hands going one way and his head the other immediately begins to search for the source. Just as Johnny flies out of the room to aid in the exploration, the nefarious Mole Man pops out from behind a door and makes a break for the elevator. Everyone is too startled to give chase and he makes his getaway with ease.

As Jen comes to, Ben asks, “Shulkie, you alright now?”

Jen quips, “If I’d known you cared that much I might never have left, you blue-eyed softie!”

“Well, I’ve deduced what the Mole Man pilfered and the result is a bleak one.” Reed announces as he comes back into the room after searching Mole Man’s former hiding place. “He has made off with my Negative Zone Portal and the software technology that accompanies it.”

Johnny reenters and surveying the scene, asking, “What did I miss?”

Ben looks from Johnny to Reed and Sue and then to Jen and asks, “Hey Green Genes, you up for an Underground adventure?”

"You want to know if I want to tag along with the Fantastic 4 on another adventure?" She-Hulk asks excitedly. "Sure thing, Rocky."

Sue cuts in "Jennifer, we couldn't ask you to become more involved in whatever this is. You've already been through enough."

"No." Reed replies abruptly. "Ben is right. We don't know what we are getting involved in either, and so from here on out, it would be prudent for us to rely on our friends when we need them."

I like Iron Man, Beast and She Hulk for this battle. A good anti-swarm unit (Beast), a hefty multi attacker (Iron Man), and She-Hulk as a heavy hitter for Namor.

Just played this one against Flash, She-Hulk, and Mr Fantastic. The heroes won with 3 wounds on Flash and 4 wounds of Mr Fantastic.

Flash rushed into the awaiting Moloids and quickly took a hard blast (or whatever he does) from Mole Man, resulting in his 3 wounds. He spent the rest of the game running around and picking off Moloids.

Mr Fantastic, who consistently rolled high on his Fantastic Leader ability and regularly moved Flash and She-Hulk (whoops! just noticed he shouldn't have been able to move Flash), came in from the flank and fought through some Moloids to grab onto Mole Man. He managed to take him out with surprising ease, rolling three skulls (on four dice) three times in a row and getting past Mole Man's subterranean senses twice (+4 to roll).

Mole Man was taken out just as Namor was getting ready to join the fray, which was unfortunate timing. Namor leapt into battle with Mr Fantastic and She-Hulk, who had been moving up through the Moloids to get to Mole Man. He rolled skulls when he should have rolled shields, and shields when he should have rolled skulls, and didn't accomplish much until a 5-skull attack took Mr Fantastic down to 1 life, which was what Namor was at by that point. Then She-Hulk whiffed and Mr Fantastic dealt the final blow.

The scenario felt fun and balanced and with more equal rolling I think a hero or two could have easily bitten it. The returning Moloid mechanic was cool, even though it became irrelevant for me too quickly.

All in all it was a fun game. Thanks! :)

IAmBatman

Yeah, the scenarios are a tad bit slanted towards the heroes just because it's more fun if they win and make it to the next scenario, but I think they're challenging enough that you could lose any of them! :-) Are you playing the campaign through?

Playing it through slowly when my cousin comes to visit. He lost Human Torch in the Battle at the Baxter Building.

I expect the heroes to win, I just try to kill as many of them as I can before they do. :)

I thought the campaign would be a good way for us to start to get used to Superscape. (and I think it has been)

IAmBatman
July 4th, 2011, 10:12 AM
Sweet. :-) There's always the World's Finest Campaign as well (though I think the Fan Four one is slightly higher quality, since we were a bit more experienced when we designed that one).

Griffin
July 4th, 2011, 10:22 AM
Both of the campaigns are of high quality though, but yeah, I do prefer the Fan 4 campaign. Still, my favorite scenario is actually in the World's Finest, so once you are done with the Fan Four, you should give the World's Finest a shot. :)

IAmBatman
July 4th, 2011, 10:25 AM
Oh, for sure, the World's Finest stuff is good too. It's just more of a collection of independent scenarios than a true campaign, though.
